During my stay at La Buena Vida inn, I encountered several concerning issues that need immediate attention:
Strands of brown hair were found on and in my bed, indicating a lack of cleanliness. The white sheets were not only dingy but also emitted a used smell, suggesting poor laundry practices. Dirt stains on the sheets were prevalent, highlighting the necessity for a thorough wash and bleach treatment. The thin walls offered minimal sound insulation, leading to disturbances from outside. Bath towels were visibly dirty, indicating improper washing methods, as they seemed to be recycled without proper cleaning and bleaching. Lack of air conditioning made the room uncomfortable in warm weather conditions. Water stains on the ceiling and walls were evident, indicating possible leakage issues that need addressing. The furniture and mirror in the room were unclean and not well-maintained. The hotel's location in a questionable area within San Juan raised safety concerns. Floors were dirty and stained, suggesting inadequate cleaning practices. Pillowcases and towels showed visible stains and signs of reuse, potentially leading to hygiene issues. Calcium deposits on bathroom appliances indicated a lack of maintenance and cleanliness. The separation between the bathroom and the room was inconvenient and lacked privacy. Dirty walls and inadequate placement of outlets near the ceiling added to the discomfort of the stay. Inconsistent staff availability during the specified hours was disappointing and inconvenient. Presence of spiders in the room and the smell of smoke from outside were discomforting and unacceptable. Suspicious activities among other guests raised security concerns and highlighted potential safety risks.
Moreover, the unclean towels provided by the hotel resulted in a rash on my body after use, indicating a severe hygiene issue that requires immediate attention...
Read moreFor starters the check in instructions where sent to my email and ended up in spam, i didnt know that of course. I arrive at the place, no where to park, streets where dark and it was raining, sign on the door said for help checking in call this number. So i did, 3 times, nobody called me back, as we waited in the dark, parked down the road, we heard people arguing so we leave. Call the number again, no answer, call the thrid party site we used to book this room, they explain that the hotel sent us emails with instructions on how to access the room. We find the emails, it does not say anything about parking, we park a block away, walk in the dark, use codes to access the room, and it smells like something is wet. We call and finally get ahold of a very nice gentleman who offers to come clean the room himself when he gets of work at another hotel, but in the mean time we could wait in the lobby, which isnt a lobby, we tell him no thanks, we would like to just go find another room somewhere else, he explains that he cant authorize a refund with out asking the owner. We explain this to the third party company who booked the room for us, they help get us another room that we pay for and then tell us that although we didnt even spend w minutes in this room, that the hotel owner refused to gjve a refund because they offered to clean the room and we declined. The room should have already been cleaned! The room is not bad, if it was cleaned, however it smelled moldy, as if something had gotten wet for a long time. They should have better check in process, they need more lights through out and actual parking for it. Maybe some fulltime front desk or security as this area isnt a tourist freindly area. The cats and dogs running wild outside can suprise u as its dark. The conforter needs to be washed, as there was...
Read moreI visited Puerto Rico for a wedding and chose this Inn based on the photos and reviews. On the positive side, the staff (Crystal, Sofia, Daniela, and housekeeping) -were absolutely lovely. ||But as a single woman traveling alone, there were several things that I found concerning:|-the windows had metal shutters but no screens (bugs!)|-The room (11) was VERY dark. The only window opened to the indoor seating area (!). Unless the shade was drawn, anyone sitting in the seating area would have had a clear view into my room. |-NO peep hole in the door|-The front desk is unmanned between 6:30PM and 10AM the next day. Some guests were loud during the night and there was no one to call|-The linens weren't quite white....more grayish...raising concerns about cleanliness.|-I raised concerns at check-in about the room's proximity to the front desk and the noise level, and I was assured that it would be 'quiet'. It was not. Every morning and throughout the day, I could hear all the conversations in the lobby; most days I was awakened by these conversations and couldn't go back to sleep. |-security code required to enter the building and a different code for the room|-neighborhood did not feel safe (I was told it was, but an Uber driver suggested that I not venture out after 8 pm)|-I booked through Expedia and even though I requested to pay when I arrived, my credit card was charged in full an entire week before I arrived. This is their policy. But had I not already been locked in, I would have moved to a standard hotel and paid a little more in order to feel safer during my trip.||I enjoy supporting boutique, smaller hotels when I travel but I would not return to this Inn, in spite of the good service, due to the...
