I rated this restaurant one star because of the location. Everything else was terrible. I visited this so called restaurant by mistake. I was under the impression this was another restaurant. Nevertheless I decided to try it. The decor was cute and the location was easy to access. That’s all I can say about the place. Overpriced and not so French!! The French was contained in the name only. First we were not greeted when entering. The only server at that point was far away assisting customers and I had to shout: Can we sit down? This was a red flag and I should’ve turn around and disappear. Instead, I decided to stay. We were at the bar, and from that spot we can see everything that happens on the kitchen! Everything: from the cooker- not chef- texting while preparing food to parking guy wandering around... Secondly it took almost 20 minutes to get a server. The bartender was not in the area. The bartender was organizing bottles while we were waiting for him. Another server came and took our order. The food was not even French and came in stages. After 35 minutes I got my salmon sandwich and my husband still waiting. 5 minutes later he got his food- incomplete- meat only- nothing else. I asked for the rest of the food and they said : it’s coming. Came 15 minutes later!!!! At some point I went to the bathroom and I see 3 servers talking - very confortable- in a separe area, while in work. While customers were waiting, servers were having a nice conversation! The only person really working was Pedro. A nice gentleman doing his job. What bothers me more is the lack of training. Servers were nice but not trained in food industry AT ALL! This was my first and...
Read moreWe ordered a lasagna, pasta carbonara, Munich sandwich, potato soup, and chicken Cesar salad.
Where to start? Potato (and bacon) soup was bland. The $11.00 Caesar Salad had lots of olive oil on the romaine lettuce - no Caesar dressing; Parmesan cheese was LIGHTLY sprinkled on the plate itself. None over the lettuce. Chicken was so bland, I could've been eating cardboard and it probably would've tasted better.
Sandwich was a lot of bread, not a lot of meat. Flavor was ok. For the price of that one sandwich we could've gotten pinchos, gotten more meat with better flavor, and fed us all.
Pasta carbonara was the only decent dish but it was also oily.
Lasagna was nothing like I've had before but it didn't taste bad. No red sauce, which was ok with me, but it was the last dish to come out and it was also oily.
Now let's talk about service. Ha! Just kidding. What service? The food took over ONE HOUR to get to the table. Zero update from the waitress until I specifically asked what was taking so long. The ice on our drinks melted and not once were we offered another drink. The person who had a hot chocolate finished it and she was not even offered a glass of water after .
Asked to speak to the owner or manager. Lady made sure we got our food, and explained that the "parrilla" was turned off and no one noticed. Let me repeat that, THE KITCHEN STAFF DIDN'T NOTICE THEIR STOVE WAS OFF!
Our bill was $101.99. Food was overpriced for the poor quality of the dishes we received. Service was sub-par, not what I would expect from a "French" restaurant.
Gave the atmosphere a high rating because it was quiet and the...
Read moreLa Boulangerie is a lovely place to have brunch! It’s easy to get to and has ample parking. The server was attentive and made good suggestions and the ambiance was pleasant. To start, a strong cup of coffee and mimosa are always good options. The French onion soup was good just not great. The salmon sandwich was tasty and the bread was perfectly crunchy. The winner in this visit however, was the eggs Benedict! Just perfect! So delicious and hit the spot. There is a little pastry shop at the entrance that sells wonderful French pastries that are ideal for carry out. However we were too full from tasting all the dishes that we passed but I’ll definitely be buying myself some bread and apple pastries next time. The prices aren’t cheap, so come prepared. Well worth it...
