Avoid this property at all costs! The Airbnb was not throughly cleaned, couch falling apart and parking was almost nonexistent and the area isn’t super appealing. All things we were perfectly fine to overlook. However, after running the shower for less than 10 minutes, the entire bathroom flooded and would not drain. We contacted the host and front desk immediately. The front desk person arrived and told us she didn’t know how to fix it and could not call maintenance because they were unavailable. The best she could do was provide extra towels and clean the bathroom and advised us to take shorter showers. I told her that wasn’t a solution and we needed to escalate further. The host gaslighted us and dismissed the issue, saying there was a water shortage in San Juan. We explained multiple times that the issue was not lack of water but that the bathroom was flooding. An hour went by and the water was still not draining. We were told that we wouldn’t be getting a full refund nor could they move us to a different location. Even after sending videos and photos, they still said there was nothing they could do and we just needed to take shorter showers. We finally contacted Airbnb to inform them that this was no longer an issue of bad draining but safety because the water continued to rise, at which point we finally received a refund and moved to a hotel. Overall the way that the host handled the situation was incredibly dismissive and frankly garbage. They made us feel as if it was our fault and not a plumbing issue. Save yourself the headache and trouble!

My two friends and I stayed here for a weekend. We liked: the decoration, the patio spaces and hammock, the location, the access to the hotel nearby for vegan food. The front door wouldn't unlock which was annoying and frustrating, and it turns out you have to kick it to open it (wish they told us this). There was also loud construction on the unit above us that woke us up at 8:30 AM with horrible shaking and jackhammering noises. They comped us breakfast (three tasting menus) which was appreciated, and the construction was only on one day of our stay. Highly recommend the Vice Versa consignment store nearby!

Charming IKEA furnished interior. Looks just like the pix online. Well stocked kitchen re pans/ dishes. Beds really comfy. Real P.R. neighborhood- not touristy, tho perfect location- steps to Calle Loiza’s shops and restaurants. Short walk to Ocean Park. 30 min walk to Calle Cerra murals. Easy to park on the street at Tropicalia.

Booked a two bedroom with a couch bed. The bathroom was big, but the washing machine was loud and would move around from how hard it was shaking. The fan inside the bathroom was also very squeaky, and the shower was a little lacking. Other than that, the rooms itself, as well as the couch bed were very comfortable, a lot of extra pillows and towels. In one of our rooms, though, if the lights were at full brightness they would flicker very rapidly, so the lights were always off or dimmed in that room.

The main problem was our wifi issues, as well as the air conditioning being down because they are connected. When our wifi went down after a long day outside, and we let DW know, we were notified it couldn't be fixed because it was late at night (10pm which is understandable) and they dropped off small fans. A small remedy but one nonetheless, as long as it never happened after I would have been fine but it kept happening, and the wifi hotspot they gave us couldn't handle all phones and the tv using it. Thank god the air conditioning worked again though.

To compensate, they gave us a breakfast voucher worth about $14 a person (doesn't include drinks and the menu for breakfast meant $14 couldn't order two small items so it really isn't much) at a partner hotel but that was it. Overall the airbnb is great and the location is awesome, the service is okay, and nothing outstanding. If you never experience any problems, this place is...

The stay was fine. We really enjoyed our time to be honest. The one thing we did not like, however; the maintenance crew would come in and out while we were gone. We didn't know it was them at first of course, so we assumed the worst thinking it was burglar. After calling, Carlos reassures us it was the cleaning crew. So communication on that part could have been better. Once, they left the lights on and the last time they came they left a chair in the middle of the floor. So we knew for sure someone was in there. Also, someone broke into our rental car. I know it sounds bad but it really wasn't. We honestly believe it was the people on the right. Some youngish girls. Don't worry. They didn't take much and it was done while we all were sleeping. They took a backpack with beach towels and snacks and some sun shades. All replaceable items. They even left green tweezers in the trunk and that was our evidence because it didnt belong to either of us but we threw those out. Oh, and their ID was left on the ground by our rental 😅. It was indeed the girl next door but we just put it back through the gate so she can get her ID back lol. Regardless, PR was super fun. I'll come back one day 😊. I did not take pictures of the Airbnb as I was just enjoying my vacation 😎. Oh, our electricity went out for one night due to the blackout but they refunded us for the night as we had to book a hotel. So...
