🇵🇷 Excellent Museum and well-informed Staff, beautiful facility, timely exhibitions and a world renowned permanent collection. My favorite is Augustin Marin’s “Agricultura” dipicting a strong Puerto Rican Farmer. 🏆 You’ll see everything here from the best in graphic arts to fine paintings. Their gift shop sells soooobmany interesting items for kids and adults. It’s always my first stop! Plan your visit ahead by logging onto their website, available in Spanish and English, as is their automated phone system. Their information desk is an extremely helpful resource as well!
Thanks to the Miranda Family (as in Lin Manuel of “Hamilton” fame) and the Flamboyán Foundation, the museums’ “Center for Innovative Education” was reborn in 2022. 🏆 It has truly enhanced the experience one can have by offering art workshops, a library, digital art labs, a conference room and a the studio for its current artist in residence, Gabriel Rivera. A Summer Arts Camp for children recently took place for the entire month of June 2023! There are tours offered two days per week, best to speak with the education department to enquirer and reserve your spot in advance.
Their outdoor sculpture grounds are landscaped magnificently and they are accessible to the public always for free during Museum hours but please note, the gardens are closed on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesday’s. You are allowed to bring a sandwiches and beverages and enjoy them in the garden and enjoy a picnic (please be sure to throw away any garbage). It is a tranquil and gorgeous spot with a stunning Koi Pond as well. 💙 The museum offers free admission to adults and children from 2:00-8:00 pm on Thursday’s. 🤸🏽♂️
🗣 Having a bite: Enjoy the museum before or after having a casual bite at “El Mesón” ☕️ 🍳 or a fancier one at “Bistro de Paris” 🇫🇷 both are right across the street. Parking is available at the museums underground lot for a fee.
