We booked the reservation and listed the people staying with us (4 adults...myself and my husband and my parents, oland our 12 year old triplets). We also specified that we had two small dogs with us (a pug and a small mixed breed). We paid a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the reminder email we received the day before checking in, which reflected the balance due as the remaining 50% ($290). ||We arrived at 4pm on Sunday, July 7th and we're told that the room we booked (3bedroom apartment) was not sanitary and we would need to upgrade to two rooms to accommodate us. This would cost an additional $150. We were not hally about it and saw others entering the room that we thought we booked. It looked like they double booked and then forced us to upgrade. ||We were also told that the room was not ready. We went to the room and there were people eating inside of it. We were not able to get into the room until 6pm and we were very frustrated as we wanted to spend the hour on the beach since we were only staying for two nights. ||Upon entering the room we found a disaster. There were melted electrical sockets, beds that have nit been replaced in 50 years, a shower that did not open unless tmypu had someone else there to help lift the door while pulling out. There was hot water and cold water, but no mixing of the two to get a warm shower. The drain in the shower was broken, the entire water supply to the shower shifted 3 inches from side to side. The sink did not drain unless you took put the stopper, the toilet ran all of the time, he TV did not work, the microwave did not work, and the refrigerator only frozen items. There was a lofted bunk bed that no one could use because it shook and moved so much we felt it was unsafe for a child to sleep in. The towels smelled terrible and we had to use our dirty beach towels and use the shower next door. |The second room had air-conditioning in one room, but not the other and the sink did not drain at all. The baseboard trim was also falling off and there were bugs squished on the bathroom walls. ||There was no privacy and the landlord or cleaning staff would enter the unit without warning numerous times. We continually locked the outside door, and they continually entered with a key and without knocking. I was stepping out of the shower and came out to a random man standing in the walkway as I was in my underwear. |We complained about all of this and nothing was done. Last night a worker came by and said they needed to add a pet fee. We inquired about all of the broken, unsanitary, and unsafe items in the unit and we're told that the pet fee would be waived. ||Upon checkout, we were told that a $160 fee for the dogs was added on. This fee was not mentioned at booking, when speaking on the phone with them the day prior to checking or when checking in. Everyone there was smoking on the deck or in their rooms and the stench was horrific for everyone in my party. ||What was supposed to be $290 remaining balance was turned into $940.05. ||We are a family of five who traveled four days to share our love of Seaside Heights with our children and their grandparents and had the worst vacation experience of our lives. This is not the family friendly shore we remember coming to (as recently as 2018). What is going in New Jersey and how can there be no standards for...
Read moreI took my chances on this motel because of its location right on the boardwalk. Well was I disappointed! The check in went smoothly, he even let me park there early until the room was ready. The rest went downhill from there. I walked in and the TV was on which I thought was weird. Found out later it was because if I went to use the remote and you couldn't use it to turn it on or off or use the volume buttons. I can only change the channel. There were three beds in my room even though I was traveling solo and Only needed one bed but that's when I knew this was not going to be good. A room with three beds in it and seaside heights reputation only meant that this was a party motel. All the beds were disheveled as though they never changed anything. I inspected the place and found two pieces of chewed gum in two different areas. Half of a spoon with something on it and some other piece of plastic, hair on the floor. Dirt on the floor and plenty of sand on the floor. Oh and also the old hair in the shower which always creeps me out. No I did not complain to the manag er cuz I never liked to complaining about anything and I couldn't imagine even if they moved me to another room that it would be clean either cuz obviously somebody who cleans here doesn't know how to clean. By the way I smells no cleaning agents which is odd cuz I usually do. I left the room to spend my day at the beach. When I got back from dinner about 8:00 p.m. there were tons of people on the porch, both at my hotel and the hotel next door which is also owned by them and we share a parking lot. Everyone was drinking and smoking which I expect a little of this except this went on until 4:00 a.m.. oh also loud cars that sounded like they were drag racing kept flying by. Earlier I was going to complain that the air conditioners were ridiculously loud. However, they may have helped me get the approximately three hours sleep. I managed to get the first night. By 4:00 a.m. I had enough of the partying and the noises and the uncomfortable beds that I left and gave up my second night and forfeited my $120. I just called the hotel to let them know that I left so they can give the room to someone else and why I left and all I got was a OH not we're so sorry that we like to refund you your second night or anything. So once again if you're looking for a place to party with no rules whatsoever or if you're blind and can't see dirt or deaf and can't hear people then this is the place for you. If you are mature and have money to spend anywhere else, I'd...
Read moreIf it was possible to give negative stars I would. Do yourself a favor and sacrifice a few steps and book something else a block from the boardwalk. Absolutely disgusting and the worst service that could be available. At 11:30 pm we came back to a room (first time really inspecting as we got to seaside around 8:30) to no hot water in the shower, a dirty tissue UNDER the blanket, dirty sheets/mattresses, hair on the pillow and in the shower, film on the floor, a mattress that sunk to the floor, and a bed that was a metal fold out summer camp like bed. Upon calling for assistance some man shows up and accuses me of placing the tissue there and then just covers it with the sheet as if that made it better. Wouldn’t sit on the bed as I asked him to as I assume he knew exactly what would happen if he did. He told me he would get a new mattress. Did something in the shower to give us warm (not hot) water. About an hour later he never shows up again and I go to the outside because I’m fuming, only to find him out there with someone else standing next to his car smoking. I asked what was going on and he said he “sent the guy for a new mattress”. We had booked the room from a third party site so we called them. They contacted the property owed who LIED and said they offered us an upgrade and we refused. Never happened btw. So I called the guy AGAIN (mind you, there were several other calls in between) and they said they would NOT refund the first night but would refund the other two. So at 1pm we demanded to change rooms, which was done as we repacked and hauled all our stuff down the hall. (Not an upgrade just another room). The next morning called the third party site again who stated they had not heard back from the property therefor could not refund. So we decided to stay because we didn’t want to be out double money from the trip. At 12:30 pm I got a call saying we had to come and pack our things and get out because they needed to clean the room for another guest. Ps, they don’t clean. So we did. After about 10 calls each to the property and third party site it seems we will get our money back. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time on these people. It’s disgusting and you may leave with more than you...
