ROOM-304||OWNER WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! He fired all employees on PROM WEEKEND! Left the hotel with no staff with minors in room. ||||I sent him 3 EMERGENCY emails. WITH NO RESPONSE HIM OR HIS STAFF. we had to make a safety decision and evacuate from the FOUR WINDS MOTEL at 17 Kearney Ave in Seaside NJ. We had a very dangerous and scary situation in your motel. As you have been told by other staff from the other properties you own The Aztec and The Sunset Motel, both located in Seaside NJ. We had minors in the hotel with no staff on duty! Not one solitary person was able to be located or reached via phone and or email. The motel was very unsafe as there were random people wandering the premises. No surprise as the office was dark and locked and clearly looked abandoned from the outside looking in. The random people knocking on the doors in the middle of the night was scary and furthermore the number we were given to call 1-732-830-3000, which is on the door of the office and on all paperwork including the website goes directly to a voice message. There was no security and this was a prom weekend as you know because we had booked the prom package. No wrist bands were given and when we inquired we were told that it was not necessary. ||We spoke to management at the Sunset Motel who was able to contact the maintenance guy from the Aztec motel to meet us at the Four winds hotel as THE CEILING COLLAPSED AND WATER WAS POURING INTO THE ROOM!||We were told that you fired the entire staff earlier in the day, managers got fired, housekeeping quit, NO security! Entire hotel was left abandoned. ||YOU put my loved ones in imminent danger and this is not acceptable nor will it be tolerated. Your lack of concern, as we have still not heard from you is a testament of the poor quality and management of the motel. ||Upon check-in the bathroom was missing light bulbs and the tile floor next to the bed was stained with a liquid mess that had dried up. The cover on the bed had some food or liquid that had dried up as well!!! Completely unsanitary conditions but it was prom weekend and with no other vacancies we made a decision to stay. With that being said we never thought we had to worry about safety... ||When we evacuated the room due to the ceiling collapsing and inches of water throughout the room my daughter fell and hurt herself. It was a total debacle!!!||We booked prom package so this idiot knew there were MINORS on the premises. Seaside is desolate at night due to it not being summer season yet. June 8-10. The weather was rainy and the locals were looking for some shelter and knocking on all doors at the property. With NO security and NO sign of any management they were abusing the motel and scaring the kids. ||STAY AWAY||OWNER DOES NOT RETURN CALLS||OWNER DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS||OWNER DID NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECREPIT CONDITIONS.||NO LIGHT BULBS IN BATHROOM||NO TOILET PAPER||NO HOUSEKEEPING STAFF||side note||Elevators out of order and they have 4 floors.. 1st floor was unsafe because of the locals that hover and no management or...
Read moreThe 4 story hotel is 1 block from the north end of the boardwalk. There are a few parking spaces by the small pool on the western side of the building & a lot around back to the south. The outdoor metal stairs have been through a lot but the black paint is fresh, no peeling. The pool is mostly in the shade. ||||When we arrived for the off season there was a note on the office door with a phone #. The owner / manager apparently lives in the house next door. ||||They are strict about the no early check in policy & check out is early: 10:00 a.m. ||||Upon entering the room, it had that typical Jersey shore motel smell. The room had a tile floor & 2 double beds with ugly brown patterned bed spreads. The sheets were while, cool, crisp & clean. The pillows were thin; even using the set from the other bed there was not a lot of support. The bed itself was a cheap, thin, uncomfortable mattress; I could feel every spring & as a result did not sleep well. ||||There was a small refrigerator & a tiny microwave. We were given 2 folding chairs & a small round table. ||||Some updates had been made to the room. Bathfitters put a fiberglass overlay on the tub / shower. The sink had a new top. A nice flowery border abutted the ceiling in the bedroom area. The main mirror seemed new. Unfortunately, we were not provided with bath towels and the fan attached to the light in the bathroom was ungodly noisy. ||||Although the door to the room was painted a bright blue which offered a cheerful pop of color in the room, the door itself was too small for the frame. There was a gap of about ¼ inch between the door & the frame. It must be either freezing or very hot depending on the extreme temperatures. More importantly, it made me not trust the deadbolt. The door rattled in the wind. We had the chain on but I was not fully convinced that someone couldn’t break in if they were determined. I propped one of the chairs under the door handle for some extra protection / warning if somebody had been trying to get in. Nobody did try but I felt uneasy. ||||It was fine for the one night we were there. We appreciated being allowed to park before we could check in & after we checked out but I don’t guarantee that privilege would be afforded on a weekend in the...
Read moreI am writing this out of total desperation and humiliation. I was horrified to see the room I had booked for labor day weekend, Sept 1 st to Sept . 4th. The room was a disgrace, I couldn’t breath from the smell of mold and mildew and just dirt. I walked in the room not only was the smell choking me but what my eyes were seeing was horrifying me. There were two huge stains on the head boards, the curtains had 2 hooks to hold them where there should have been many more. So the curtains couldn’t be closed, no screens on the windows, so I could not air the room out. I was afraid to pull the dirty bed spread back, not knowing what I would see. I ran from the room, as I left I saw all the a/c units in the hallway were rusted out across the whole bottom, chucks of stucco leaving holes in the exterior walls of the hotel were present.||I immediately went down to the clerk that checked us in. I told him I had a tightness in my chest and couldn’t breath in that room. I said I can’t sleep there, I am allergic to mold and mildew. I asked him if he saw how filthy the room was, he’s exact reply was “I cleaned that room, Don’t even go there with me!” I was horrified ! I told him I wanted my refund. Never did he offer me a different room, he told us they were sold out ! So he called his boss who told him they wouldn’t give me refund, because they probably couldn’t rent for rest of the weekend. We’ll I looked up his place the rest of the weekend and he had no vacancy. So that was another lie. ||I called my credit card company right away and stopped that charge of $399.00 which was 70% that I had to deposit when I booked. I was hours from home and very lucky I was able to rent at another hotel down the street. ||I received a very disturbing email from the booking company customer support today, telling me that the Four Winds Motel was not going to refund me my money. They said they offered me another room !! That is a total lie, he never offered me anything !! They also implicated that maybe there was a language barrier ????? I am American born with no accent and I never had a problem speaking!||This is not acceptable. I work very hard for my money and this place ripped me off! Going to continue to fight these charges.||Feeling very...
