Such a disappointing experience at this hotel. Had a trip planned with friends for months and picked this motel, not expecting anything crazy because it is the cheapest place to stay in Seaside, just needed a place to sleep after we were out exploring all day. Upon checking in, we were pleased with the front desk worker Ruth, she was very friendly and gave us recommendations around the area. We met up with our friends after who were also staying at the hotel and they told us they had a totally opposite experience with her and that she was very cold and gave them no recommendations which was strange that they got such different service, but oh well. We had two friends that were just planning to stay till late in the night and then drive home later. At 10:30pm they were in the room and Ruth told them that the hotel policy was that they couldn’t have guests in the room after 10pm, so they apologized and left the room, understanding they were in the wrong. At 12:30am, the guests were leaving and we were all heading to bed. One guest entered their room for about a minute to grab his backpack, in hindsight, the person staying in the room should’ve just brought it out to him, but no one thought it would be a big deal to walk in and grab a bag. Within seconds Ruth was at their door threatening to call the cops and kicking them out of the hotel, she had been watching them from the vending machine on the hotel property. They were very nice and apologetic and tried to explain that they were going to bed and the guest was leaving and they didn’t think it would matter if he quietly went in to grab his bag, but Ruth had her mind made up. It was lucky that these guests were leaving at that time because the two friends staying in the room had no car and no where else to stay. Meanwhile, while Ruth was busy spying on them and threatening to call police on them, two men were in the parking lot smoking and talking very loudly, which is also a policy as the hotel is non smoking. It’s very sad that she picks and chooses which policies to follow and and which guests to target. Our friends know they were wrong to have have him go into the room to get the bag after hours, but it is so strange to me that she couldn’t understand that it was only because he were leaving like she wanted, and threaten to call the police and kick someone out of a hotel so late at night for something like that. They even pleaded with her that they just needed to sleep and they had no where else to go and she was too high on her power trip to have any empathy. Just horrible customer service all around. The hotel itself was fine, a little dirty, but the walls are paper thin so be aware of that too when booking. I could hear people showering and clearing their throats at 6am the next morning in the rooms...

I reserved a room at this place because of the affordable rates and the positive reviews. They are located a few blocks from the beach and the parking is OK. Unfortunately however, I did not have a positive experience. Initially I felt the management seemed to be on top of things, and they made you read and sign a sheet about their policies which included quiet time between 10PM and 8AM. I asked the manager if they had had trouble with partiers due to this quiet hour policy. And, she told me that this was a proactive policy which clarified their expectations with guests, and because of this policy they did not have any problems with rowdy people. NOT. The first night worked out OK, but I did notice that the walls and floors were paper thin and you can basically hear everything going on in adjacent rooms. Thus, the reason behind the quiet policy, I figured. The second night was a complete train wreck because I had some loud-mouth drunks move into the the next door room. On and on they went deep into the night, oblivious to the fact that other people in the building were trying to get some sleep. The management had told me earlier that if I had any problems to dial O on the phone. So, around midnight I dialed O out of desperation. What did I get? The answering machine with a cheerful voice on the other end saying they were closed and unavailable. It was so bad I came very close to calling the police, esp. since the management was nowhere to be seen and were evidently getting a good night's sleep themselves. I eventually resigned myself to the fact that I was not going to get any sleep that night. Once I had to open my window and yell at them who at that time were out on the sidewalk making all kinds of commotion. Later, I had to go out and bang on their door. I mean, they just would not stop. Approximately two hours after I had left a message, the manager finally went over to talk to them and they finally quieted down, but this was just too little too late, after 2AM. A train wreck of a night, and the insulting part of it was that I had to pay to have to listen to these very low quality people in the room next door, carrying on and on for approximately six hours with no intervention from the management. I have no plans to return to this place. I would also recommend they clean up all the piles of beach toys and household stuff in their entry area, the route to their office felt like I was walking through someone's unkept back yard.
PS Evidently there is a sauna on site for the guests to use, but I was never...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went on a trip to Seaside to watch the 4th of July fireworks with the intention of just a day trip, but after arriving we realized we were going to be tired and knew it’d be a tiring drive home at night especially with the traffic from the crowd coming to enjoy the fireworks, so we got the idea to just check around for some possibly vacant hotels while we ate lunch, even though we weren’t expecting much, after a few calls to other places quoting $400 (which was expected being last minute and the holiday) We came across this wonderful place on Google, and saw the low price, so we called them up at they said they had one room left for $150, so we came over and the wonderful woman at the front greeted us warm and friendly, she showed us the room before we had to say we wanted it. She said it was a “spare room” they usually offered to guests with extra people. It was an upstairs unit with an adorable cozy front room and a small hallway leading to a bedroom with a bathroom, the view from the room was awesome, we could see the ocean and were told we would have an amazing view of the fireworks should we decide to watch from the room. We decided to take the room and we have absolutely no regrets. We had a wonderful night and after checking out the beginning of the fireworks from the beach, we went back up to the room and watched from the living room window. It was amazing and was an awesome view as they said. This place was SO cozy and felt like a home away from home. It didn’t feel like we were in a hotel, it felt like we were in our own little apartment and we loved it so much. We definitely found our place we want to stay now every time we come to seaside! Like a little hidden gem almost! We slept amazingly, and it was just the best experience. We can’t wait to come back and try out the rooms with the jet tubs, and the cottages when we come with friends, but we would definitely take the little apartment again and be just as happy. The owner was an absolute sweetheart and so personable! They also had a bunch of awesome movies in the office available to take up to the room and some snacks. The ONLY complaint we had was the internet wasn’t working on one of our phones and the cell service wasn’t either, but that was okay, they said it doesn’t usually happen and they would call their internet service provider to get it sorted out. We WILL be back and would recommend this cozy amazing place to anyone. I don’t understand these bad reviews because we are completely thrilled and fell in love with...
