If it wasn't for the location, I would've stayed somewhere else. Overall, this is one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.
For starters, we came in a little early and did not expect to get to check in until 4:00PM. So, we waited. And watched others get their rooms almost immediately. I had to ask to park in the hotel parking lot to avoid paying for street parking - that wasn't offered while we waited. We had to ask for water since there is no water in the lobby. We had to ask to see if our room was ready, which somehow it still wasn't, even though we were the last ones in the lobby to check in, but we were given access to our room - someone from housekeeping would bring us towels. No apology for the unusual wait. No asking if they could do anything for us. Hotel was running warm in the lobby.
We finally get into the room. Room is running hot, so we turned down the AC to the maximum, which was 69 degrees. It never reached that until morning. Water handle fell off in the shower. No soap for the dishwasher. Not enough coffee, creamer, or sugar in the room for 3 people. No bedding for the pull-out sofa. We had to ask for every single one of these items.
The room itself was worn down except for the kitchen. Everything looked aged - the furniture looked like it was rescued from a closed down Red Lion with gouges everywhere. Pull out sleeper had a ratty cover on the mattress & noticeably sunk when you laid on it. When folded up, the couch sank like it was beyond it's lifespan. Toilet needed 2 flushes to get rid of any waste. Can't adjust the shower head to actually spray at a reasonable height. Soap dispensers are in an awkward location and you end up hitting them when you're in the shower. Bathroom lock was broken.
Breakfast was absolutely terrible. Some of the potatoes were sweet. Eggs overcooked. No other protein. The only thing that tasted right was the yogurt. Seating isn't enough for the capacity of the hotel - we had to grab the next available table after waiting, even before the staff could wipe it down.
Downstairs parking is terrible for $49 a night. It's secured, but not much else pleasant to say about it.
Fitness center is in the basement, right next to the housekeeping facilities. Not ideal - felt like some soviet-era bunker down there.
Elevators ran slow all day, when they did work. I was told to use the maintenance elevator to get to the parking, which did not work. I ended up taking the stairs almost the whole time to get anywhere.
On checkout, the staff wasn't much better - just wanted our room number and that was it. Nobody asked if we had a pleasant stay. Nobody asked if we had any issues. Not even a goodbye. I awkwardly waited for a moment, then realized that they didn't even care to ask. So here I am, writing it on Google instead, to let everybody know to just avoid this place unless you really need the location over...
Read moreWhere to begin...this hotel, while not the worst in the planet (I'm assuming), is definitely not good by any means.
I'll get the good out of the way first: The location's great, but it causes a lot of road noise in the rooms.
Now for the bad: All the comments about parking are true. The attached parking garage is extremely small (not enough spaces for all guests) and is extremely tight--the spaces are very narrow, and the driving lanes and ramps are just as bad. If you have a sedan or smaller you'll be OK, but anything larger than a small SUV will be challenging at best, or more likely impossible, to park, especially once all the "good" spots are taken.
The staff is mostly lukewarm to your presence, not really going out of their way for...anything, let alone making you feel welcome. But since they didn't treat me like garbage, they are the source of the 2nd star.
The hallways smell absolutely awful, like some sort of garlic, fish, lobster, and foot odor combination that was microwaved. Luckily, the smell does not really permeate into the rooms.
The rooms are livable but not clean by any stretch of the imagination. The carpet is dingy and the walls are scuffed. The shower either shot water side ways or had a leaking pan as water would get everywhere where it didn't seem it should. The restroom fan sounded like the engine on a Dodge Ram truck from everywhere else in the room, and that's even with all the outside noise! The greatest surprise, though, was the bed--it was extremely comfortable...I was NOT expecting that at all, so we'll played, Hilton! Very tricky...
Finally, the breakfast was just absolutely terrible. I have had lots of hotel breakfasts, I know we're not getting resort-quality food here but...wow. The eggs were complete garbage, burnt, tasteless, and dry. These powdered eggs were easily the worst I've ever tasted. The Canadian Bacon was ok, but extremely dry. The bread items were fine, but they didn't make up for the eggsperience that were the...eggs.
Finally, let's not forget that Hilton properties no longer offer housekeeping daily...I was only in two nights, so no issue, but I don't know how this will impact longer stays. The greatest takeway--decrease in service with no decrease in price...hmm...
All told, this place is livable, but, in my opinion, not worth your time. You're basically getting a budget hotel experience at...
Read moreSummary: Our stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle was fantastic! With a stunning Bayview from our king room suite and exceptional service, this hotel made our stay worth every penny. Although it was close to $400 a night, the spacious suite, beautiful view, and convenient gated parking made it a great choice for our Seattle trip.
Ambience (5/5): The hotel had a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The Bayview from our room was a definite highlight—you could see the bay and the cars driving by, which added a scenic touch to the room's charm. We were on a high floor, which enhanced the view even more. I highly recommend booking a room on a higher floor if you can.
Authenticity (5/5): While the overall experience is what you would expect from a Hilton, the details made this stay unique. The suite had a full kitchen and a spacious living room, giving it a home-away-from-home feel. Everything felt thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience, making our stay smooth and enjoyable.
Flavor (N/A): We didn’t sample the food this time, so no rating for this category.
Cost (4.5/5): At nearly $400 a night, the price is on the higher end, but for what you get, it’s definitely worth it. The Bayview, spacious suite, and gated parking offer great value. If you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a beautiful view, this place delivers.
Service (5/5): The service was excellent, especially at the front desk. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, making check-in and our overall stay smooth. The only minor issue was with the digital key—it didn’t work for the garage fob, so we had to check in at the front desk first to get the physical key, but the gated parking made up for that small inconvenience.
Tips for Visiting:
Book a high-floor room if possible: The Bayview is stunning, and being on a higher floor makes it even better. Enjoy the gated parking: It’s a great perk if you’re driving, as you don’t have to park on the street. Just remember to check in at the front desk first to get your key, as the digital key doesn’t work for the garage. Plan ahead for availability: The hotel can get fully booked, so if you’re thinking of extending your stay, make sure to...
