This was one of the best Hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had. It began with an amazing Valet named Earnest. He was the most congenial and friendly valet I have ever met.
He was unable to park our 1 ton truck in the underground parking. I had a bunch of tools in the back for a IT installation job I was in town to complete. Earnest felt genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of our vehicle and my tools. He went out of his way to help me empty the vehicle, and checked all of the items (which was a lot) in the baggage area of the hotel.
He then helped to find street parking which was in a safe area, and actually saved us $60 in parking fees.
After all of this Earnest then made an amazing dinner suggestion and even provided us with coupons which saved us a great deal on our dinner.
As I returned to the hotel each day during my stay Earnest greeted me by name, without reminder. That is a feat in my book as I often can't remember coworkers names whom I interact with daily, for years.
My wife and child accompanied me on this business trip. They eventually became visibly stir crazy. The Desk clerk noticed and provided all sorts of coloring books, crafts, games etc for my 4 year old. This without us asking. I did not get her name unfortunately.
After our trip we thought we had left some items behind. We called the hotel frantic because the items were irreplicable. The staff (each and every one we spoke to, one of whom named Cindy) were genuinely concerned and eager to help us locate the items. Calling us back to update us with their search regularly, and even offering to ship the items to us immediately once found.
Beyond the absolutely impeccable staff the hotel itself is beautiful. If you love pre-war architecture and design it is an absolute gem. It is like a time capsule. Every room has a milk door, and the electrical is all retrofitted because the building clearly predates electricity.
AS bonus they have a café, salon, skin care facility, and speakeasy on site. The speakeasy was closed during our stay, but the café was wonderful. We did not try the other services.
I will likely stay here on each and every visit to Seattle. It's an absolutely...
Read moreThis hotel was hands down amazing! They were so sweet and when they found out that we were there on a honeymoon before our wedding they went above and beyond. My mother passed away in February and we were going to get married in May. We moved the wedding for obvious reasons but the honeymoon was more difficult. ||||Despite it not being a traditional honeymoon they gave us sparkling water (I don't drink wine/champagne) and a GF cheesecake. When my hair dye accidentally bled on their white pillows and towels they switched them out daily with no complaint.||||Kennedy was an absolute sweetheart! She went out of her way to write a little note that we could add into our scrapbook. ||||They took a time that was bittersweet for us and injected a level of sweetness into it that reminded me of my mother. Infact the highest praise I can give is that their actions reminded me of what my mom would have done. So if you want to be treated like family they're the place to go! ||||The rooms are very retro and fun! Lots of space. Not many noise complaints despite being on the road (mostly just when cops/emergency vehicles would pass and that happened maybe twice). Other than that the rooms were very quiet. ||||If you get there early they will hold your luggage so you can explore. The same for if you need to check out before your flight. They held our luggage while we went and had brunch before heading to the airport. ||||Almost everything is within walking distance and what isn't can be easily gotten to by a bus or two. Dick's Drive In is a nice place for quick food. ||||The tin Lizzie is a great little bar and the Cafe Ladro is worth a visit or two (Call me magic drink FTW).||||The only note I have is that if you have difficulties climbing stairs make sure to request a first floor room as they have no elevator. But those first floor rooms are amazingly wonderfully set for ADA...
Read moreI truly cannot say enough great things about the MarQueen. It is such a charming place. The lobby is gorgeous! Apparently, most of the rooms have kitchenettes- which is fantastic, especially when traveling with a family. Our room looked freshly painted, had lots of kitchen storage space and a little breakfast nook to eat at, two comfy queen beds with plenty of pillows, a sitting area with a pull-out couch, and a nice sized tub in the bathroom with the softest towels ever.
The whole place gives off all the wonderful nostalgic vibes and was very clean. Finding a hotel that is clean in Seattle (even the higher-end chain hotels) can be rather challenging. Seriously, we've paid way more for hotels that don't hold a candle to this place. I'm honestly still blown away by the prices at the MarQueen.
Each and every staff member was fantastic, as well. Christopher at the desk and the manager, Alex, were so kind, accommodating, and attentive. They offer 24 hr complimentary valet parking, and there's a bar and coffee shop that are in the same building. They're dog friendly, and it was the cutest little touch that they give you a little doggie goodie bag with a paw pad to wipe their feet, a few dog bones, and poop bag for your pet. I was also in love with the location. It's in the heart of the city, and within walking distance to so many cool local attractions and pretty much any kind of restaurant or bar one could hope for. To say we enjoyed our time here would be a massive understatement.
I'm SO very disappointed that with all the time we've spent in the Seattle area the last six months, that we've just now stumbled upon this little gem. Had we known, I can safely say that we would've never stayed anywhere else even if it meant more of a commute for my husband....
