Overpriced for what you get. Things the hotel does not tell you in their advertising:

  1. No baggage assistance, so you will be on your own if you have more than one bag, children or dogs.
  2. The baggage trolleys that you can use to get your luggage to your room are heavy and very difficult to operate. The trolleys don't turn or pivot, so getting them in and out of the hotel elevators took me several tries and having to wait for the next elevator was frustrating waste of time. 3) Do not trust hotel housekeeping to honor the "do not disturb" sign on your door. Keep the extra security latch locked on your door so the hotel staff can not use their master key to try and barge in.ย  House keeping staff banged on my door at 9 am even though I had a "do not disturb" sign on my door. Then, she tries to use her master hotel key when I don't answer. She pounds again. By this time my dog is barking and upset. I yell, "I don't want housekeeping" and she leaves. I was asleep. She woke me up. I have a hard time sleeping in hotels and she ruined my sleep.ย  LUCKILY, I HAD THE SECURITY BARRIER LATCH ON MY DOOR LOCKED, OTHERWISE, THE HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE WOULD HAVE COME IN WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I am guessing that, because I was checking out that day, the hotel housekeeping staff wanted to get their work done early. However, I had the room paid for until 11 am, so trying to get my room cleaned early at 9 am was totally inappropriate. It is also no excuse for the housekeeping to come in while the "do not disturb" sign is on the door.
  3. The hotel's service $29 amenity fee includes one "glass" of wine really means a cheap can of wine with a pop top and no glasses.
  4. How to access hotel wifi is not explained at check in even though you pay a $29 nightly fee to use the service. (Nothing is explained at check in. Be prepared to ask a lot of questions because the staff does not willingly give even basic information.)
  5. The baggage trolleys are in short supply. At check in I had 4 bags and a dog. I was surprised that the check in staff just handed me my room pass. (There were 2 staff check in people there and no other customers checking in, so clearly, the staff had time to be more helpful.) I asked for directions to my room. He pointed in the general direction of the hotel lobby and said the elevator is on the right. He said I could use the baggage trolley and pointed at it. I got my luggage on the trolley, but, I realized that it was going to be a challenge to hold my dog on a leash and push the hard to manuever luggage trolley at the same time. I asked the check in guy which would be the easiest way to the elevator. He said either one of the curved up ramps would work. (Be prepared to push the baggage trolly up a curved ramp.) Then, he offered to help. I thought he would push the trolley all the way to my room on the 4th floor. But, instead, he left the trolley at the 1st floor elevator and told me that the easiest way to manage the trolley was to push it from the side bars and not the middle handle. It was a bad introduction to the hotel. I would have thought that getting luggage assistance was included in a hotel stay, but not at the Pineapple hotel. I later observed that the baggage trolleys were in short supply, so fearing that I would not be able to get one at checkout time, I wheeled it into my room and kept it so I would not have to go get one at checkout time or find out there were no baggage trolleys available. Yes, I recommend baggage trolley "hoarding" in your room at the Pineapple hotel because the trolleys are heavy. Do you honestly want to waste your vacation time maneuvering the trolley through the elevators multiple times? On the plus side, the rooms were clean. All in all, this is not a good hotel for...

We stayed here at the end of March as a family of 4 (kids were 5 and 8) for sightseeing and attractions. It was our first time in Seattle and we LOVED the location. Itโ€™s a 5-10 walk to the park/arena that has a huge playground, museums, an indoor food court, the space needle and access to the monorail that can take you downtown and walking distance to the Pike Place Market/Waterfront area.

The hotel is fun and funky. Our kids loved the giant LED screen in the lobby that had interesting displays. Breakfast was reasonably priced, tasted great and had great coffee & teas. The free refillable water bottle was a delight to discover as was the free water bar that gave still and sparkling water so we refilled daily. There was a ton of seating in the lobby all with unique pineapple themed touches. The elevators have fun activities like a puzzle or a word creator. The pool was a modest size and enjoyable for the kids. It never got too busy. The restaurant on site was a little overpriced with a limited menu on weekdays but we tried pizza, pasta and salad, all were delicious. Service was friendly. We got a larger hotel room with a seating area. It comes with a fridge which was very convenient. The room seemed dark even with all the lamps on and curtains open, especially when it was a rainy day. The beds are very comfortable and they give a ton of pillows which I love! Everyone gets a separate comforter which I thought was such a win too. The wifi was strong, I even had a video meeting during our stay and it did well. There is minimal hanging closet space, it could use more hooks but manageable. People in the halls could be heard but not between the rooms. The people above us were loud in the mornings, you canโ€™t hear voices but can hear heavy walking and dropping/dragging of things but it was quiet in the evenings. My son was playing cars on the floors so thankfully on the 2nd floor we werenโ€™t bothering anyone lol. The seating area was great for getting food delivered or with take out. Thereโ€™s a grocery store within walking distance for snacks & drinks, and a Thai restaurant nearby for takeout. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It felt safe, relaxing and was incredibly convenient for our...
