This was my first time using the float. I got at this place 10 minutes before my appt today (09/20)but there was no one in the reception area when I came. I waited until one of their staffs showed up 2 minutes before my appt. I assumed he was at the back taking other clients to the float cabin. He didn’t appear to be friendly and welcoming and when he showed me the cabin, he seems to be in a rush to provide the information. It was my first time doing the float so I didn’t know what to expect. After I showered and got in the float cabin, the water smells like pee and I was thinking that it might be the epson salt that made it smell like that. While I was floating, all parts of my body were relaxed except for my neck. It would probably be helpful if they can provide a floating device to help the neck relax. I only floated for 15-20 minutes because I could not bear the smell and my neck was hurting. Also, I tried using their blow dryer in the bathroom after I showered but it was not working. I asked the guy in the reception area how often they replace the water and he said they don’t replace it because the salt itself kills all the bacteria in the water. They also have signs of helping conserve the water so that could also be the reason why the water are not replaced often. I mentioned the the water smelled like pee and the staff was not explaining it well and said it could be the ozone that made it smell that way. So not sure what that means. Overall, I did not have great experience and would not recommend this...

[With the first free happy hour float, my friend had a positive experience at the Greenwood location.]
Today, at South Lake Union, I used another free happy hour float pass, after taking advantage of my free IR sauna pass. The website recommends doing the sauna before the float, so I called and scheduled my appointments. The person on the phone was very nice, helping me book them and answering my questions, and giving the good tip to bring some sandals to get from the sauna area to the float pod room.
I was also greeted warmly by two employees, when I arrived today. Taylor was great before, between, and after the sessions, patiently explaining the process and what’s included.
I strongly agree with their reiterated recommendation to stay hydrated – to drink water before, during (the sauna), between sessions (if doing both), and after the float. I also recommend bringing your own water bottle. (Plastic bottles aren’t allowed inside the actual sauna, but you can set stuff right outside the door.) In the sauna, there’s a jack to plug in an iPhone, if you want to listen to music (or watch a movie, as Taylor suggested). I was told that in the float pod, there are also a few different musics they have that you could listen to.
I never felt treated any differently – certainly not worse – because I was using free passes.

Read moreI got a gift certificate from my partner for Christmas. I finally decided to use it after 4+ months. I should have used it sooner! I purchased a membership beforehand since I got two free floats being completely new to Float Seattle. I got to Float Seattle ten minutes before my appointment. Because I was a member, I was able to float for an extra 30 minutes no charge since there was no one scheduled after me, which was awesome. The facilities were spotless and the environment was great. The staff was amazing. They were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. They explained the process, gave me directions, and showed me where the reminder was posted in case I forgot. There’s a neck ring float they provide for the float that helps keep salt water out of your ears and out of your eyes. I found this was essential in my float. They give you make-up wipes if you need them, hair ties in case you forgot one, lotion after and provider shampoo, conditioner and body wash for before and after. They even provide tampons for the ladies just in case. They also provide ear plugs to further the sensory deprivation and keep the salt out of your ears. I even got cool stickers for free on my way out. The float was so refreshing. My body feels less tight. I could feel the tension in my body releasing during this relaxing experience. Floating is officially part of my self care regiment now. Overall 10/10...
