Always hesitant about trying local BBQ because I am almost always dissapointed. Up until today I hadn't found any worthy of a return visit. My grandfather was a North Carolinian and Lexington style BBQ has been the standard by which I judge all others. Having said that, I also recognize that different areas of the country have different sauces and everyone has their own preference. We had the pulled pork sandwich, the brisket chili, the mac and cheese, and the raspberry chipolte chicken wings. The wings were really good. I am not a fan of sweet sauces unless they have some heat to balance it out. These wings I thought had the perfect amount of heat. So the pulled pork sandwich....Omg this thing was huge thankfully my husband and I got one to split. The pork was smoked to perfection and I was over joyed to find that they didn't completely douse the meat in bbq sauce like most other places do. You were able to taste the meat for itself and it was delicious! They put some sauce on the bun but it wasn't at all overpowering to me. It was just enough. I don't normally like mac and cheese but I tried a bite and went back for 2 more. Sadly, I cant review the chili because of the size of that sandwich. I couldn't eat another bite. My husband ate a few bites and he said it was very good. Our goal is to try everything on the menu. Thank you guys for a most...
Read moreUpdate!: The owner commented on this review quickly. After speaking with him directly, it is VERY clear that his customers are important to him, and he actually cares about making sure his restaurant is well received. He did right by us. We were VERY impressed and will be coming back regularly to support his business. My review below, is no longer valid and I will be changing to 5 stars. Thank you very much for making this right.
We have been trying to get to Triple S for a few months now. Finally got to go. My husband was anticipating getting some good BBQ finally. My husband ordered the Beef Dino ribs and corn bread. Total with tax was almost $32. This is all we ordered. The ONLY reason I am giving 2 stars is because the meat was very good. He receive one good sized rib. ONE! And 2 squares of very moist, almost wet, corn bread. I would have not paid more than $20 for this. If he had gotten two ribs...I would be posting a much better review. We will not be back ever again. Hugely disappointed. I should have taken him for a Ribeye steak. He would have actually...
Read moreSo I was staying at the hotel next door, I walked out to my car and it hit me, the delicious aroma of BBQ, I looked around because it was such a strong presence, I literally thought someone at the hotel was barbecuing. I hopped in my car to see where it was coming from, low and behold the Triple S smokers were next door, I just couldn’t see them. I pulled up guys running the smokers said they opened at noon, I couldn’t wait, I had to be somewhere. All day it was calling me back, so when I got back around 5pm, I went over the place to eat. I walk in and he says we’re sold out, oh man, talk about disappointment. I said “you don’t have anything?” He said no, but hang on I got a treat for you… he went in back and brought me a Pork Belly Pinwheel, and they scooped me some of the very end on the Mac and Cheese and said On The House! They were closing up shop, so I took it to go. Holy Crap! The Pinwheel was Ridiculous! With a sweet Apple glaze. That’s all I can say, AMAZING! I checked the menu, they don’t even offer the pinwheel… just...
