Upon entrance, we were greeted on a Saturday around 2 pm. by a very nice front desk associate. She allowed us to check in early and got the room i requested when I booked. We stayed for 3 nights. We had a top floor corner unit; King/King, split Floorplan. That is the most unique room I've ever been in, and I loved it. King rooms, I was told didn't have balconies, only queen rooms, but we were okay with that. It was too cold outside anyway. I enjoyed our stay there. Breakfast (no bacon 🥲) was great! My family and I enjoyed it nonetheless. It was rather crowded in the breakfast dining area, but we took it to go back to our room. The OJ was the BEST orange juice I'd ever had any place. They had options on different luggage carts, lots of brochures at the elevators, and where the luggage carts are at. I loved the location, as this place is off to the side of everything, including dining, movies, shopping at the Tanger Outlets, and a nice shopping plaza across the street; Dollar Tree, nail salon, JoAnn's, Books-a-million, a Levi/ Wrangler Clearnace store for Men, Women, and children (we got 5 pairs of jeans for men for $53.87), there is a Texas Roadhouse, Fudruckers (the worst!), and an activity center in the plaza along with a fitness center. Free wine tastings up the road, too. Applebee's and Buffalo wild wings are in close proximity to the hotel. The hotel sits alone, so there is no traffic in or out of the property. Lastly, I loved that they have church on Sundays for people who are staying at the hotel and refreshments served, too. How cool?! The 2 separate tvs in the room are great! A few things that stood out.... the ladybugs in the room trying to find warmth. I get it. I have em in my home in the cold months. There was another bigger flat looking insect that came from the light's motor. We killed 3, but we lived!!!! We had a rather rude night front desk lady who wouldn't speak if WE paid her to. Just a nasty stare and an eye roll is what we got from her and her glasses. We didn't let that spoil our moods, though. Also, more room storage would be great. On one side of the room, you have just 2 low-lying drawers, and on the other side, there is a closet and a desk. The internet was non-existent, and our TV on the side nearest the window had dots of lights on the screen; I suppose the LCD is leaking or something. The remote was not compatible with the TV guide, and the cable (Spectrum) was rolling over to other shows. We chalked it up and decided we'd stay out and about to avoid having to be cooped up in the room watching TV. Overall, this hotel deserves a 5. Some things may need to be addressed, but they are doing a fine job with keeping this place up. There are soooo many options to choose from, and by far, the layout of the rooms is definitely a plus. No other hotel in the area I shopped around for is offering that and the decent price we paid for our stay. If I'm ever in Pigeon Forge, TN, again, this will be my choice of...
Read moreI rated this hotel a 3/5 because it functioned as a hotel but I would say this is the worst IHG hotel I have ever stayed in so if you're a Rewards Member, find literally any other IHG hotel. ||Hotel was unclean and smelled (everywhere- hallways, rooms, etc. Not sure if it was new paint and an over chlorinated pool with lack of ventilation which made the smell so potent).I got into my assigned room and there was dust everywhere- not a big deal but also indicates the room was not cleaned (only bed was made is likely) before check-in. There was also a stink bug in my room which while not ideal wasn't a deal-breaker, just spoke to lack of cleanliness. ||The dealbreaker for me was the ticks in the INDOOR pool and hotel response. When I reported the bug-infested waters to hotel staff , the staff denied there was anything in the water WITHOUT EVEN MOVING FROM THE FRONT DESK. I again repeated that there were ticks and other bugs in the indoor pool. She then sighed and said she'd look into it. This was the only issue I brought to the staff's attention- because they have signs that say if you see a problem with the pool, report it. ||I wasn't expecting to be gaslit by hotel staff when I wasn't even being rude about it. I was reporting the LIVE BUGS in the water as well as returning a lost key (I believe dropped by the hotel maid herself as she had been the only person in the vicinity).||So between the unclean room, bug-infested indoor pool, and the rotten fruit at breakfast (all the bananas were brown and the apples had bruises and/or holes from bugs), this is a definite loss of bang for the buck. Also, there were drunken hotel guests trying to break into my room all night (I had a wheel-chair accessible room next to the stairway with a button that says click to open) and I know while not the hotel's responsibility to control guests, a very unpleasant experience to be woken up at all hours of the night by loud and obnoxious, drunk partiers/guests who thought the button opened the stairs. Thank god I double bolted the door and use a block so it won't open- as it tried to open every time the button was pressed-without a keycard being used.||Only semi-positive was that the location was about a half hour drive from everything Pigeon Forge. And the location was a "decent price" compared to other IHG hotel in Pigeon Forge proper, which was about $150 more. Still, overall, I'd count this as a financial loss/bad decision for a place to stay.||Unfortunately, I have another night here. Posting this review literally from my room so other perk-...
Read moreOur recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express (Sevierville, TN) was nothing short of wonderful. When booking online, I booked a room with a balcony and Smoky Mountain views. When we arrived checkin went smoothly (room was ready and very clean) and the view was awesome. The hotel was in a great location right off the parkway and we were able to hit up all local attractions within minutes (some restaurants and stores were even within walking distance). This hotel is located towards the beginning of the parkway, so even though it is close to area attractions it is not right in the heart of all the businesses, which makes it nice because it is not as loud and full of traffic as other hotel locations further down on the parkway. Throughout our 5 day stay the staff was always friendly, helpful and genuinely liked their jobs. Housekeeping also did a wonderful job at keeping our room clean and fully stocked with towels, bath products, etc.
The only bummer was the pool was closed and we saw driving around that other hotels in the area had their pools open already. The temperature was in the high 70s and 80s while we were there, so it would've been nice to be able to lay out by the pool or take a quick swim. Overall, that is not a deal breaker as there were tons of activities to keep you occupied throughout your stay nearby.
Lastly, the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I have experienced. There was quite a variety of hot and cold options (the Cinnabon rolls being my personal favorite!). There was hardboiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, meat which rotated (bacon, sausage, etc.), pancakes, biscuits and gravy, Cinnabon rolls, etc. The food was always stocked, it didn't matter if you showed up at 6am when it opened or arrived at 9:55am right before breakfast was going to get wrapped up at 10am. The staff that worked the breakfast was also extremely friendly and before closing up breakfast asked if anyone that was still eating wanted to grab anything else.
I would 100% recommend this hotel to business travelers, couples that just want to get away for a few nights and families. The price was reasonable, the hospitality and location were great and overall the experience was all that I was looking for in my spring...
