Before making my reservation at this hotel, I did a thorough comparison to other hotels in the area and this one had the best reviews. Unfortunately I did not get the best hotel room like all the other reviewers seemed to. When I go into a hotel room the first thing I do is check the beds for any signs of bed bugs. I wasn't looking for anything except signs of bed bugs, but you can look at my pictures and see what I found instead. Fortunately, no bed bugs. However it seems like they didn't clean the room at all before letting us check in. The beds were filthy. How would you like to spend almost $200 for a night in these filthy beds?? I wasn't happy so I reached out to guest services online and they immediately sent up the manager of housekeeping. She was very friendly but she never really gave me an answer on why the beds were so filthy. She did say they use mattress protectors to prevent bed bug infestations, but it appears they neglect to actually launder the mattress protectors or box spring covers at all. She changed the sheets, pillowcases, and comforters which was very nice. She didn't change the mattress protectors which were filthy, but she wouldn't have been able to do that by herself anyways. Those types of things should happen between guests, not when they're already checked in and sitting in the room waiting. I'm just confused why I was never offered a clean room or a discount on my bill during all of this. I also found mildew in the bathroom. There isn't a vent in the bathroom to keep the steam off the walls so the water drops were peeling the paint away on the ceiling. The bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. The pool was nice but absolutely no one watches anything in there so swim at your own risk. There were literally parents watching their kids do repeated cannon balls, splashing everyone else nearby, and laughing about it and telling their kids "good job!!" Kids were running back and forth between the outside portion of the pool and the inside portion of the pool. It is an unsupervised mess. I can see this being a big problem at times. We went swimming when it wasn't terribly busy to avoid any issues and it was fine. There were a ton of dead bugs floating in the pool though. The free breakfast was good. Parking seemed tight for such a big hotel, sharing the parking lot with Cracker Barrel. The lady who changed my sheets came back to find us the next day and tell us she was giving us a ton of Drury rewards points so we could have a a free night. I hope they can be used at another hotel because I won't be back to the Sharonville one. She is the reason I gave 2 stars. If it wasn't for her, it would be zero. Let the pictures speak for themselves. You wouldn't be...
Read moreSo, I was going back and forth on which hotel to book in this area. I typically prefer smaller hotels with kitchenettes and sofas because when I travel for work and I am usually there for a few days. This time, I wanted to give Drury a try because they were highly rated, reasonable, and close to the facility I was covering. Things I liked were the friendly hotel staff, beautiful floors, cleanliness of the hotel, and the overall "feel" of this hotel. It kind of reminded me of a fancier hotel but on a blue-collar workers' budget. This hotel has a lot of floors versus legth, so it is very easy to get to wherever you need to go without a ton of walking. They have all the necessities and then some (like a pool, workout room, pantry area to buy snacks, business area, and small common area off of the check-in area to socialize). They have evening social hour a few times a week where you can have a few drinks and small bite to eat for free with your stay (unfortunately, I did not get to see how nice it was because it was over before I got back from work, but 2 free drafts would have been nice that night lol). Breakfast was a little more expansive than some like biscuits and gravy, potatoes (not the tastiest but nice option for some), hotel style eggs and sausage (I'm personally not that fond of these precooked products), oatmeal with all the fixins, dry cereal, Belgian waffle machine, small muffins, toast and bagels as well as fresh fruit. Coffee, juice, and even soda (coke products, I think). The breakfast area had plenty of seating options. The rooms were pretty standard but clean, tastefully decorated, and the bed was comfortable. I had a 2 queen bedroom with a chair. It had a small refrigerator and microwave. TV was midsized. Things I didn't like were the somewhat awkward parking because of how it sits off the road and faces a Cracker Barrel. The area is convenient to get to different parts of Cincy, but there's a ton of construction right by this hotel. Breakfast was the same every day. Lastly, this may not be common... but my shower did not drain fast enough, so water got to be about 2" high in the bathtub before I was done. Kinda grossed me out thinking of drain backing up where others have showed lol. I would definitely...
Read moreNOT SAFE! Do NOT stay here! My husband and I travel ALOT for work. We regularly stay at Drury Inns across the country. Sometimes for months at a time. This is by far the WORST Drury Inn for multiple reasons. 1. It is not safe. My husband's truck window was smashed and broken into. The criminals stole a $600 water test kit we use for work, our tests come in a briefcases so they probably thought it was full of money or drugs. They stole the spare tire off of his truck and flattened one of his tires, I guess, as a sick joke. Two years ago, my husband stayed at the same Drury, and they broke his window then as well. This place is NOT SAFE. Twenty Five to Thirty other cars were broken into the same night. The Drury Inn will NOT cooperate with the police which makes me believe it is an inside job. There is NO WAY someone did not hear 30 windows being smashed and people pulling spare tires off of the bottom of trucks. They do not help the police at all, so there is no way to possibly identify the criminals. So, as far as I'm concerned, this location encourages car theft and the destruction of their guests' property. Our suite only had one working thermostat. It was 75 degrees and up in the main room our entire stay. Luckily, the bedroom worked, but we had to turn the aC on the lowest setting to make the rest of the suite tolerable to be in. There were stains and rips on the furniture. It is the most rundown and outdated Drury we have ever stayed in. They might as well turn this into a Red Roof inn and save loyal Drury Inn customers the pain of having to stay here. They didn't even sweep up the broken glass in the parking lot, so everyone was running over broken glass, and glass was still all over the parking lot when we left 6 days later. I know people had dogs with them who had to walk through all that glass. What if a child falls down in this parking lot??? DO NOT STAY HERE. Go to a place that actually has security patrolling the parking lot. This is the worst...
