Response: If you took the time to view the pictures, you would see that's not a refund. That's a $100.02 charge that my card declined. I have no refunds pending or shown made. Long Review: I was going to give 2 stars as a benefit of the doubt, but the dishonesty was down right distasteful. First night there, when we got to the room everything was fine however, I noticed the door to the room was hard to open. I didn't think anything was wrong until it jammed. I received AI text offering housekeeping as you have to request it or it won't get done. The next day, I went to shower and couldn't get out the bathroom, the door was jammed. Thank goodness my relative was in the room. We immediately went to the front desk to report. We were assured everything would be taken care of. When we arrived back that evening, housekeeping did not come so we didn't have any towels. I spoke with front desk in which both ladies assisted, one went to get towels and the other made sure that our room was listed on housekeeping for the next day. Went back to my room, showered and guess what door was jammed. Went back to the service desk to report, they didn't have any other rooms on the first floor, but they assured me they would have maintenance and housekeeping the next day. Day 3, we left for the day, returned for the evening and still no housekeeping or maintenance. I went to the front desk for towels and had one of the ladies come to our room to see for herself what was happening. She took pictures and when she realized we literally were stuck in the bathroom. She agreed this was unacceptable and would reach out to the GM. We were standing right there when she called and spoke with her. We showered with the door slightly open. All 4 days same results, speaking with front desk staff, the night staff reached out to the General Manager Ms. Jones and we were told she would be in early Monday morning at 7am, so we got up got dressed and went to the front desk was told by front desk manager that she actually doesn't come in until 10am. We had a flight to catch so we couldn't stay and were told she would call us when she comes in. Well, of course that didn't happen. So I called and was told she wasn't in and that she would call me tomorrow when she comes back. Tuesday, came and she didn't call, so I called and was told she wasn't in and she would call me back the next day. Wednesday morning, I called and spoke with Ms. Jones who said that she was sorry she didn't reach out sooner and that I was on her list to call. She apologized and said she wasn't given the full story of what happened and that the ladies on the night staff never told her anything nor did they put me down for housekeeping or maintenance and that she had a meeting with them to correct the situation. I also told her I never saw my refund for the incidental charge so she released it, but it has yet to be sent back and I was supposed to be receiving a credit. However, what made me give one star is because of the dishonesty and how dare you try and charge me an extra $100.02... for what? I paid in full when I arrived plus the incidental. And if the ladies never told you what happened, why would you have a meeting with them for corrective action and if they didn't call you the night I was at the desk with her, who was she speaking to pretending to be you? You said you have top of the line security cameras please run that weekend back. As a former law enforcement officer, the hotel is screaming trafficking. Your side door is always ajarred with a rock. Which in my opinion after certain hours everyone should come in through the front door especially if you can't monitor the side door. I didn't even care about the marijuana smell that reeked through the halls but the safety of those who stay there is definitely a concern. Thankfully, the night we were followed at the hotel an officer was onsite. Which I did tell the young lady at the front desk. So I would appreciate it if you would honor your word. Until I receive my refund, my post won't change. I'll keep...
Read moreWe stayed Tuesday through Friday as a fun mini vacation to Kings Island with our kids. I had not read through enough of the Google reviews to see that upon check-in, even though I had PRE-PAID the full amount of the stay through a third party site, I had to pay an additional refundable $50 deposit. Due to travel sports and business trips, we stay in hotels quite often and have yet to pay a deposit at any of the hotels, even the 5 star hotel we stayed in didn’t require the guests to make an additional deposit. Our room was “damp” and unimpressive. Tub was slow to drain so by the end of a shower you are in ankle deep water. Yuck.
Breakfast seemed nice, however, don’t dress in plain t-shirts and ball shorts or the worker might come up and accuse you of looking homeless while “ensuring you’re a guest”. All the lady had to do was ask what room my husband was staying in, once he replied she could’ve just left it at that BUT she then had the audacity to say, “well you look homeless and we have a lot of homeless people try to come in here for food”!! He was freshly showered and in a plain gray t-shirt and black ball shorts. Nothing had holes nor was stained in anyway, he has a buzzed hair cut so his hair couldn’t appear disheveled if it tried, his boat shoes have seen better days but since when did pristine shoes or appearance in general determine someone’s suitability for continental breakfast?! He even had the wristband on required for the pool and the lady still was rude. We witnessed all manners of dressed persons for breakfast, people in what I would consider pajamas, a couple of people dressed for work, some wearing crop tops and yoga pants, and others wearing what looked like yesterdays clothes. We have NEVER stayed at a hotel that accuses its guests of “looking homeless” for what they wear. My husband did complain to the front desk and tried to contact the general manager but all that was given was a curt apology and nothing more. I didn’t realize it was a business casual dress code for breakfast. This comment/interaction alone was enough to be the reason we will NEVER RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone. While we didn’t hear the lady working the breakfast accuse anyone else of being homeless in appearance she had an awful attitude about helping any guests. She didn’t want to put out more milk for older gentleman that asked for his wife (the milk was empty) and she asked a CHILD if they were trying to feed more people than just themselves because they “had so much food on their plate already”. The kid had a muffin, some eggs, and a sausage - that was it. PAYING customers, WITHIN breakfast hours, openly judged on how much food they’re allowed to get….I've never been subjected to and witnessed this level of mocking by staff at a hotel breakfast before.
The rooms say non-smoking but the hallways reeked of marijuana the entirety of our stay. A wristband is required to be worn for the pool area as if it’s comparable to a waterpark. It’s not anything special, not even exceptionally large, and the water looks dirty (salt water pool but the salt water pools we have experience with have all been clear). While the bed sheets were clean in appearance, underneath them the pillows and mattress were stained. This hotel was rated as a 4 star hotel on Expedia (I think) and this is on our list as one of the most dingy and disgusting hotels we’ve ever stayed at in all of our travels. We were trying for cheap and this wasn’t even the cheapest hotel but it looked nice and what reviews I read seemed acceptable for our family. We will definitely be coming back to Cincinnati, but we will NOT be...
Read moreI stayed here on june 29th 2023 for my son 11th birthday . I had a ton of kids with me during my ENTIRE stay , I was the only adult in the room . I must say the pool area was our absolute favorite, the size of the pool was nice , the outdoor/indoor fire pit area was nice . Sam who worked the front desk was absolutely marvelous , the grill area in the back was nice as well . Breakfast was very nice , good quality food and the breakfast attendant which was an older caucasian woman did an amazing job . the front desk , pool and breakfast was the highlight of the stay . The rooms needs to be updated along with someone to service the rooms late hours , with me having lots of kids we ran threw towels and couldn’t have access to any fresh ones til morning . Once checked out I was looking for my incidental fee’s to be returned . When a week went by nothing nothing had been returned so I called looking to speak with the GM , someone I never once spoke with or saw . The GM noted in my account she smelled marijuana in my room after I checked out and kept my fees . NO PROOF OR EVIDENCE may I add . I’ve worked in a hotel for many many years, mainly in the housekeeping department during my many years of hotel experience, as being a housekeeper, along with being a house man which both of those positions works inside of every room in the hotel if you come across a room that has marijuana smell, you must investigate the room to find any proof or evidence that was marijuana actually used in the room, I asked for a conversation with the GM which I never got so I can see what proof or evidence was found in a room that has a connecting door to a whole other hotel room where smoke can easily transfer from one room to the next hard-core proof cannot transfer from one room to the next With the room being connected with only a door being whst was between one room and the next room, and with a smell can transfer from one room to the next, you cannot charge a customer or hold a incidental fees. If there was no hard-core proof or evidence left behind for management to actually confirm and have documentation that there was marijuana use in the room I asked to speak with the GM multiple times. It took almost 2 weeks for her to return my incidental fees. It took for me to constantly call along with speaking with every front desk agent they had to get in contact with the GM to question her about the evidence that she found to where she noted my account and held my incidental fees for marijuana smell, which could’ve came from any side of any room that was connecting to mine ,I stayed in room 210 which set between 209 and 211 I’m not sure which side with which room is the connecting room to that but when you have connecting rooms, you can’t just pinpoint which room the smell came from it could be coming from one room and spread to that next room with that connecting door . Sadly, it took almost 2 weeks to get my incidental fees returned and I had smoked no marijuana, there was no proof . I was hosting a birthday party for my son who has asthma so for me to get accused of smoking marijuana inside of a room that was filled with all kids 6 to 7 kids that was kind of wrong and I would’ve like to speak with the GM but that...
