Despite the great food, impeccable if maybe a little overbearing service, and incredibly friendly and clean atmosphere, I am still giving Da Han only 3 stars. Why? Simple, it is 16 bucks per bowl.
They have many different options to choose from and so many different sauces, this is great, if you do not have to pay $16 per bowl to try different combinations, but this place has a one bowl policy making it impossible to try multiple combinations of smaller portions. Instead you have to fill your bowl well to overflowing just to get half a bowl of food once cooked.
And please, if the owners are reading this, STOP TAKING THE BOWLS OUT OF PEOPLES HANDS!
My daughters, 16 and 11 were up at the bar with us, discussing the items, and the lady who I assume is part owner took it upon herself to take the bowls out of their hands and begin adding items to the bowl regardless of any known allergies or anything, for instance the lady working took the bowl out of my youngest daughters hands and added shrimp, what if she was allergic to shrimp? Further despite us adding the oils and whatnot that we wanted she kept trying to force more and more different ones on us that we simply did not want. I had to actually push her hand away to stop her from adding sesame oil to my food which would have made me violently ill. I understand cultural differences, but pulling away and saying "no" repeatedly is universal.
All in all, if you know what you are coming for, know what combinations you want, are a god at piling thinks in the bowl 3 times higher just to get a full bowl when done, then by all means, stop on by.
But if you want to sample many different combinations, I hope you have a deep wallet, as it is going to cost you.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had absolutely no plans to specifically go here last night, and had never heard of the place before. However I was down the street at Dave & Busters and we didnāt want to eat there so I was looking around the area for a place to eat and saw ātop ratedā next to Da Han on google maps so decided to give it a try. It definitely lived up to its expectations! Basically when you sit down you have a menu that tells you the cost of a bowl and then a list of appetizers with prices that you can add on. Each bowl also comes with a soup and rice. For the bowl you literally fill this pretty big bowl with all the raw ingredients that you can from a buffet line - veggies, noodles, and various types of protein - and then make your sauce on top of it. Since we told them it was our first time one of the guys there helped us make our sauce. I was worried I was trying to fit too much in the bowl (itās a flat rate, not by weight like many places are), but after doing the sauce the guy told me I should try and fit more š. After filling the bowl we took it up to the counter and they cooked it for us on these giant cooktops. It only took a few minutes which surprised me, and by the time we got back to our table the rice, soup, and crab rangoon we had ordered was already there. The food was absolutely delicious for such a simple concept. I wish I lived closer because I would be there once a week. Highly recommend, especially for picky eaters like me who love to choose exactly what goes into their food! Very reasonably priced as well, probably the best bang for your buck for Asian food Iāve had in Cincy so far. My gf got a second meal out of it and I could barely finish my bowl because it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis truly is a hidden gem. My wife and I are in town for a cardiologist check up and staying in a hotel near by. We got in later than normal so I just hit Google maps and sorted by top rated. This restaurant was all five stars for the past month. We had doubts but went anyway.
We walked in and my wife immediately noticed how clean this restaurant is. Even the air vents, which every other place leaves dirty, are spotless.
The waitress / hostess explained how this worked as it was our first time. She noted to pile it all on and add a lot of meat! Then add one of every sauce.
We came back to the table to find soup and rice waiting too. The flavors all melded very well. You need to stir it up so often when eating but it is worth it. My only regret is not adding a larger bed of noodles for the meat! We tried a pincher full of chicken and pork each then piled on the beef!
Honestly, we are so surprised at how amazing this place is. We will be back! All the five star reviews are not fake. Well worth the visit. Also, most of the parking is out back if you need...
