My Mom and I took my nephews school shoe shopping today. We got a warm welcome when walking in. However, that is where the friendliness ended. I asked if they had the tool that measures someone's foot, she said "Yeah but we don't really use it, since boots run so different". She comes to "help", she feels my nephews toe in some boots. (what we have done and already do, hence the reason I wanted his technical size with the measurement tool that she never did get, and we ended up finding and using ourselves), she pointed out he shouldn't wear those thick socks with boots (this is what he wears, it just is, he won't change for us and he certainly isn't changing for you), she wanted him to try on shoes he didn't like and said he didn't like. She treated us like we were wasting her time, or weren't seriously going to purchase anything, so we were not disappointed when she left. We helped ourselves. Found some not cheap boots that my nephew wanted. My Mom goes to pay, the young cashier takes the card run it as credit (which typically wouldn't matter except this is a very tiny credit union and this does make a difference, it has happened before), it was declined. They asked for another card, my Mom asked if she could use a check, yes, in the process of writing the check, my Mom request them to try to run the card as debit, their response? "Well you already wrote the check". Ok, this doesn't matter since they ran the check as debit and gave it back. Also, she wasn't sure if my Mom's ID was acceptable since it was from KY, the older lady informed her it was fine. Then she asked if my Mom wanted a bag or did she just want the boots like that, ummmmm.....do we not get a box with a $140 pair of boots instead of walking out like we got them from a yard sale? When I get shoes I want to feel like I got a new pair of shoes, in the box, in a bag, with a receipt, I would prefer a smile and a kind thank you, or a cold thank you would have been better than nothing. If we had not drove 2 hours to get to a store that had a good selection, my Mom would have walked out and still was almost ready to walk out and go to a store we know of, with a much smaller selection but have awesome employees, called Footworks, right down the road. Being from a large family and big group of friends that buy boots regularly for their whole families, I would have loved to spread the word. We won't be back. This may not be as irritating to some than it is to me, however, I work in customer service, I have for 15 years. I understand my customer's keep me employed, some may seem dumb or irritating but they are my customer and when they get done interacting with me, they are going to feel good about doing business with us and they will feel respected. I have co workers that act like these 2 ladies did, like being nice and treating people good was going to take money out of their paycheck. So...
Read moreI bought 5 pairs of boots last year 2 for my boyfriend 1 for my son and 2 for myself. Within 6 months my Justin's fell apart I brought the boots to store to see if I could get a replacement. After speaking to a very rude lady and practically begging I got the same boot exchanged. Now it's been about 6 months and guess what, yupp these boots are falling apart again. I do not do hard work, mostly at my desk so for my boot to be failing at the seams is just insane. My son had his boot for 2 months and yes also fell apart. There isn't any other western boot store near me so I have no choice but to come here even though I dread wasting my money at a store that is overly priced for junk.
