When I called, I asked if this was located along along i-75 and was told it was, and it is not. But since I was told it was I made the the reservation for a handicapped room. The price to deal directly with the motel receptionist in order to meet my needs was about $35.00 more than the price listed on Google. Yikes!
My GPS wasn't fully working so I called the night I was going to check in and the motel receptionist was sweet but her command if the English language was lacking so very difficult to find the place so a lot of frustration there.
Once found I parked on the side of the in the handicap spot only to find that I had a one foot step up to get into the office. Thank goodness a customer coming out from the office held the door open for me. The language barrier issues continued but I eventually left with a key.
I don't know whoever thought that black numbers on dark brown doors would be a great contrast for people to see in the dark of night but I struggle to find my room only to find that the 12in step up into the office was a joke compared to the 18 in step up from the parking lot was to greet me. Not only that there was not one true handicap spot in the row of handicap in the area. And behindme all of the rooms had approx 6in of a step up from the parking lot to the rooms. Who thought this out !!!???!!!
True handicap spots should have ample room to open the door so the driver or passenger has room to remove a walker or a wheelchair or possibly even a scooter. But none of the handicap spots were in front of my room or even within several rooms of my room. This was not handicapped friendly by any means.
I would say the outside temperature was about 50 degrees. I tried my key, it would not work. I tried several more times without success. It was back to my vehicle and back to the office.
I parked in the handicapped spot next to the office and called the motel clerk and explained the situation and she was kind enough to bring me another key. We exchanged keys and I went back to my room and this time I gained entry, but only after several tries.
It was about fifty degrees outside and the same inside. No one had decided to warm up the room anticipating my arrival or comfort. Also I flipped on the light switch inside the door... Darkness remained. I turned on the flashlight on my phone so I would not stumble across the bed and finally got a light on inside the room.
I got the heater on and cranked it up. It took over two hours to heat the room up. I placed a wake up call for 8:30, but alas it came at 6:30. When I called the office back to confirm the time and was told it was 6:30 and then asked why my 8:30 wake up call came at6:30 and the answer was , "I dunno," I responded, "That's what's wrong with this place!"
AND THAT IS WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PLACE, NO ONE GIVE'S A DAMN FROM OWNERSHIP ON DOWN
NEVER STAY HERE!!!
I had to type this that's how strongly I wanted to...
Read moreStaff members are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE, I mean it is not my fault that they gave me a room that was dirty and smelled of something dead. They should have WANTED to give me a different room for the inconvenience and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that they have no problem getting an attitude about the issues that you bring to their attention, but they don't do anything to fix the problem or make sure that the customer is satisfied and I don't want to be around for a real problem with the wrong person and I think that ppl that are so bad that are so bad at customer service are not going to be owners of a business that is only still open bc by the grace of god the covid small businesses along 2oth the fact they dont even do anything that would cause them to lose money. They have no coffee machine in the room or st the office (none in the morning blew my mind) and the phone was actin like a p.o.s. and I ended up walking to the office to see if he could do something about the fact that the room smells of smoke, (come to find out that he put me in the only building that has smoking room available and he said that I was just trying to make the room seem worse than what it was and I am sure he said that if I didn't like it then I was free to leave and then I asked him to refund the room money and I am not going to be able to get over the smell of the room or the holes that are in my sheets and floor rug and j2 refused to do anything to help me with feeling like I was being cared for and I think it's important that the people who are working in the rodeway inn are not going to get away with the horrible way they treat ppl or the fact that they're all the worst kind of people who should be doing a job that they don't have to deal with anyone else but themselves and I think they should do something about the situation with the couple who weren't given more then 20mins to get the room together and then they were made to take everything from the room and put it on the ground in the middle of a rainstorm and told her that she had to go bc out of room and then they were lied to get the couple out of the room and they had to stand out front of their door dofnt sllow an hour later check out, and the people who were leaving had just got a chance to get a ride over there and have no problem getting a new room at a different, nicer, more comfortable environment and the entire staff was...
Read moreI stayed at this property because of the price. I am between houses as I am waiting on my next home to be ready to move in, I have stayed here while I'm in town. I drive a truck so I'm only here sporadically. This Hotel has a convenience of parking next to your door but that's where it ends. I had to complain several times about noise outside the door, once the police had to be involved at 2am due to a family of gypsies having a party.. yes that's right, GYPSIES. I request a "DO NOT DISTURB", post a sign, and yet every single day I was woke up by house keeping, one time an aggressive sounding woman pounded on the door and demanded I leave.. I had paid the night before. Very rude customer service, dry at the least. They act mad that I used a booking service and received a discount. I had to change rooms once because the bed had the same sheets as when I left a week prior. The rooms I have occupied are old and run down looking, a real 70s vibe. My home will be ready this week so I booked this hotel last night, as I had several times over the last couple months. I arrived at Rodeway to be greeted by a familiar face at the desk, where i was berated about my dog. Now, when I say dog, she a 3yo 17lb Boston Terrier that had no issues with house training or damage. She isnt always with me, she stays with others sometime to have a break. He berated me about the dog even though I had paid the $15 fee every single time she had been with me, and that fee alone adds up for the few times when she stayed. I cancelled my reservation and will never even consider returning here. I refuse to be called a liar and treated like some kind of criminal, when I feel as though I'm giving this place business it REALLY DIDNT DESERVE TO BEGIN WITH. Spend another couple of dollars, there are plenty of really nice places to stay in this area. I feel stupid for giving them...
