Two stars is too high of a rating for this place. I honestly would avoid this hotel until they make some changes. The low price may be appealing, but it is not worth the conditions you will have to endure. Like most people have mentioned, the hotel is run down. Paint chipping, old dated carpeting and fixtures, just generally worn down and in ill-repair. The first thing I noticed is that most of the staff seems upset to be there. They are a bit rude and act as though you are an inconvenience to their day. Walking up to our room, there was a smell. It was a mixture of illicit drugs (or a rogue skunk), tropical air freshener spray, and Indian spices. Very strong in the halls, and in our room as well. It never left during our stay. Entering our room and getting settled, we started noticing the cleanliness. Two of our pillows had dark red spots like blood stains. The washcloths looked like someone had rubbed their dirty fingers on it... dark black/brown finger sized spots, and two of the towels had yellow stains on them. I asked for clean washcloths, two new pillows, and clean towels. A woman showed up. She knocked on the door. I got up to walk to the door. She immediately knocked again and yelled "please open the door." She was holding a washcloth. I tried handing her the dirty items, but she would not take them. I told her she had to take them, they were dirty. She hesitated then finally took them. I told her I also needed towels and two new pillows please. She looked irritated and walked off. She didn't return for almost 30 minutes. The pillows she brought had small black "dust" on them. My daughter thought that it might be fuzz from the laundry, but it made me uneasy for sure. I ended up taking the pillow case off and putting a tshirt of mine over it. The towels all had a gray dinge to them with yellow and off-white stains. They were scratchy and did not smell fresh at all. Later, when I asked when the free breakfast was served, the man at the counter had to look up my room and informed me that since we paid a discounted rate, that he would have to charge me for breakfast. I showed him my travelocity receipt that said "included amenities" and listed breakfast. He looked it over and said how "mis-leading" that my receipt was since breakfast was served as an amenity at the hotel, but that it was not included in my purchase. (it is included with all rooms at the hotel, and their regular price was $45 and I paid $55 through travelocity.) When I said I would call travelocity to figure it out, he said that he would honor the free breakfast. Two of three ice makers we found were out of order. We had to go down to another floor and to the other end of the hotel to get ice. In the room we found a dried up cheese slice and drippings on the desk that looked like spaghetti sauce. (I hope) While I was getting dressed to go out for the night, someone knocked at the door. Again, before I could turn and walk to the door a housekeeping lady came barging in the door with no announcement catching me in my underwear. "I'm sorry" she said.... "another room they told me was empty." We slept pretty well. The beds were old, but they had put pillow top covers on them, so they were decent. The sheets and bed seemed clean enough. The bathroom fixtures for the towel rack and toilet paper holder were falling off the wall. The shower head had some sort of pink mold growing on it... We got one bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo. In the morning we went down to get our complimentary bargained breakfast... and we found a stack of pre-cooked eggo type waffles on a plate in a case that had been sitting there for quite a while. A bowl with apples and bananas in it. Some yogurt, some juice, and cold cereal. After the scare of cleanliness, we avoided the breakfast. It just didn't seem right. I went to check out. The lady at the desk grunted at me, took my key card, printed up my receipt, and sort of tossed it at me with another grunt. No eye contact at all. We will not be visiting this...
Read moreThe parent company of Days Inn should be ashamed of having this hotel bear their name. I stopped by here 2 years ago and due to a very low budget we stayed here. But then 2 years ago, when I gave my phone number he identified me as a rewards member and gave me a discount. . But last week I was treated as a no one and no offer of a discount price. He said I could not get the price listed on Google maps unless I signed up for it online. So the first impression was terrible. At no time did he notify me of a free continental breakfast served between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m. or whatever hours they actually use. He did not identify any parts of the hotel as the ice machine is located here the vending machine is located there. We have check out time at 11:00. He did the least amount of talking he could do. I used to be a maid many years ago for a hotel chain. I was told what I had to clean up and wipe down and the head housekeeper often went behind me and found places I missed and would bring it to my attention and basically you did not want to go to the housekeeper's office. She was a very angry person. So I learned to wipe down many surfaces. I learned to clean up behind the nightstand. I learned to dust off more than just the mirror. In my room last week I did run a wet cloth on the top of the mirror and it was not too bad but on top of the piece of furniture that the television is hanging from I ran a wet cloth up there and it came back black. It was so filthy. ~Now they're trying to make the rooms look better. They're upgrading them with new beds new curtains new bedspreads new furniture new shower curtains. And they've removed the carpeting in the room and now you have fake wooden floors. The reality is that the plumbing backs up. Whether you're flushing the toilet or taking a shower or brushing your teeth at the sink the room becomes horrible because the plumbing is so clogged. I was not pleased when we left that next morning rather early, I would say it was just before 9:00 a.m. and there was a housekeeper or some other type of employee of the hotel standing on the side of the hotel next to the exit that we used to leave (in order to get our car) and she was smoking a glass pipe. Now I could see her clearly when I was inside and she couldn't see me. I could see exactly what she was doing. The second I opened the door she ran and hid behind one of the pillars. If you want to go to a place that's full of partying oh wait. Not only do you have to pay for the room but they're also going to charge you $40 for clean up. In other words $40 that you have on your credit card is tied up for the next 4 days, because it took 4 days for them to credit it back to me. It's a room cleaning fee. That if your room is filthy, messy when you leave they keep the additional $40. So I felt that I would not leave a tip for the maid. I always leave a 5/8 $10 tip. I left nothing because the room was filthy and I advise you do not stay here unless you want to deal with all night...
Read moreI have stayed at 7 hotels in the last 7 months and this is the only one I'm writing a bad review. I only stayed one night and the room itself wasn't that bad. There was a spider that I'm afraid of but other than that the room was pretty clean. Oh there was a fly as well! The bathroom was updated style wise and the bed & pillows were great. I slept good. My problem started today, 4 days later. On the night of my stay they charged two pre authorization charges totally up to $45.44 ($1 then later $44.44) which is the price I agreed to pay for the night. No dispute on that. But I find out today my bank account is a negative balance because they charged another $45.44 to my account while the other charge is still pending. I'm hoping one of these charges will later drop off and is just a mistake but that doesn't help me right now when I need gas to pick up my kids from school. I called the hotel and it just kept ringing with no answer. I called again a little bit later and spoke to a woman on the phone. I calmly explained the situation and she didn't say anything just hung up. She hung up on me. So I immediately called back and when the same woman answered I asked to speak to a manager. She's said there was no manager right now. I then asked why did you hang up on me to which her reply was just "after 3pm". I'm assuming that's when a manager will be there? Hopefully the manager can explain to her you don't hang up the phone on customers. So then I looked up another number to call days inn and got to the reservation line where I explained to the lady that I know she can't help me but I want to talk to someone who can and explained what happened. She was perfectly nice excellent customer service and transferred me to customer care. The lady from customer care listened to me calmly explain what happened and said she doesn't have anything to do with billing and I should speak to the manager of that location. I told her that I called the location and the lady hung up on me when I was talking to her. She then said "I do not even know how to respond to that but you should talk to the manager of that location." I start to say "okay..." and thank her for her time when SHE HANGS UP ON ME. she doesn't say have a nice day or anything she just hangs up. Not to mention I've worked customer service and call centers. She should have apologized even though it wasn't personally her fault for the other woman hanging up on me. So now I'm just waiting until 3 to call back and speak to the manager. I can already tell you though that I will never stay at ANY Days Inn location again. It was just going to be this location but based on the lady in customer care hanging up on me I'm thinking that's how they train their employees so I don't think any of their locations are worth my...
