The hostess was extremely polite and helpful when she took my order right away, maybe that was rude of me to have asked her to take it, but I knew what I wanted.the waitress then brought me my drink as requested, and told me she'd be taken care of me, my food would be out soon. I had ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich add lettuce and tomato, subham for extra turkey, and a side salad. The side salad took a few minutes and the waitress told me the sandwich would be right out.
this side salad was pretty much half cheese, like there was a gigantic pile of shredded cheese on the top of it, which covered up the sliced cucumbers that had fallen apart and become soggy, almost going off over the entire salad. Not a good taste. The raspberry vinaigrette was pretty sweet and strong, with very little flavor to balance it out. Before I really got into my salad thesandwich arrived. Unfortunately what you see in my photo was the sandwich I received. It doesn't look very great. It didn't have any of the powdered sugar on top, or the honey mustarddipping sauce. Not a huge concern because I figured it should be sweet enough and I took some of the strawberry jelly off the table to give me the full montecristo flavor.
so I took my first bite, pretty excited because I've been wanting to try a sandwich like this.... I don't know if this is a good example of one, but it definitely didn'ttaste good. The French toast was extremely bland, it had a decent eggyness to it, but not very sweet, certainly not crispy, and very spongey. the lunch meat was awful, not that you could really expect much out of lunch meat, but I expected more. Just tasted like salt. there was plenty of cheese since I took some off of my salad to add to it, and they did oblige my request by adding gigantic slices of tomato, but the grill on the sandwich was bad, it hadn't formed a nice crispy crunchy texture, the Swiss cheese was half melted.
Overall it was not...
Read moreHonestly It was more than disappointing. We did come in 30 minutes before closing time, however we didn't take long to order and we weren't planning on making anyone stay late. Ordered the steak (medium well) and eggs with hash browns and cheese and an All American with scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, and banana nut pancakes. The steak came super bloody, like literally swimming in blood on the plate (gross), the hash browns were burnt so badly we could not eat them and the pancakes were barely slapped together, more like a plate of mushy bread. So obviously we mention this to the server and he cones back and says we'll the manager said to take 15% off the bill (2.50 off each meal). Tried to charge us almost $40 For food we literally could not consume. So I let them know that we were not about to pay for food we can not consume. So they took the steak meal off. We still paid for the all American with burnt hash browns and the mushy pancakes that we could not eat. So okay, we paid and tipped the server $17 cause he was helpful and friendly. But what we didn't realize was my wallet fell out in the booth while we were eating. So after we were long gone I realized my wallet being gone and checked my trusty Tile app for where my wallet was left at. Sure enough, It was at Scramblers. So we went to retrieve it first thing the next morning, and clearly one of the employee's helped them self to take everything out of my wallet and go through ALL of my personal effects (probably searching for cash or valuables i guess) needless to say we won't be back there ever again. The entire experience was bad. I do not recommend...
Read moreWeâve been coming to Scramblerâs for years bc of the good food, great service, nicely sized portions, and affordable prices. I understand life is expensive right now but theyâve definitely rebranded and altered the menu which is upsetting bc one of our favorite items was removed. We were able to still get it, but now you have to pay for every little thing you add/alter, so we had to do that item that was no longer on the menu as all a la carte and pay for every little thing to be added together. Another example of something we wanted was a meat and cheese omelette with spinach added. Well that was an upcharge of about $2 to add some spinach. We used to substitute our bread option for a pancake for a little over $1, but now itâs up to $3 to do each substitute (not add). Coffee is about $4 a cup, which is okay bc you get the whole pot and refills. Our food was still really good and fresh when it came out. And the service was still great! But our bill was almost double compared to what it used to be, not even including the tip! I also donât like how on the receipt you canât see the upcharges or alterations. It just shows the meal you got and the total price it came out to. It reminds me of the Waffle House receipts where you have to guess the charges to understand why the bill came to be so high. All in all, we still love their food but we most likely wonât be regulars again any time soon. I would still recommend Scramblers, and will go back again. Just sad to see how...
