UPDATE - It breaks my heart that their recent price increase has affected our ability to go here. Our dishes now cost around $20 per person, and I can't maintain that cost. The food is STILL so consistently good, but the price jump was too much. I have visited this place for the buffet experience countless times with friends and family. The selection is always much more than you would expect for the price. The staff is attentive to clean up your used plates, and always refill your water.
With the current situation, their buffet is not available, so this past time that I went, I ordered off the menu, a fish saag (spinach curry and baked cod loin) and order of garlic naan. I also ordered a lamb korma (lamb stewed in a mildly spicy curry sauce) and regular naan to go for my wife. The variety offered was surprising, from different curries to different proteins to different carbs. It's a little overwhelming, to be honest. If recommend looking the menu over online.
What I did not expect was such an elevated quality to the freshness of the curries and the naan. That is not too take away from the high quality when a buffet is offered. Rather, this tasted like high-end Indian food, which I have only had the luxury of enjoying one time in my life at a coworker's expense. Everything was perfectly cooked and adequately seasoned. The vegetables in my curry had a vibrant color, and the fish was that perfect level of properly cooked, still delicate and moist, and not at all mushy.
Portion size is also worth mentioning. The dish was big enough to allow me two full meals off of what I ordered. Considering that, even when a buffet is offered, I may end up still ordering off the menu so that I can enjoy the meal twice!
This place is very commendable on their cleanliness, freshness of ingredients, and their promptness. I highly recommend supporting them, whether that's to go orders or dining in.
I returned the next week indeed! Lamb Korma and Lamb Rogan Josh, both were just great. The lamb is stewed very gently, and the flavors that come out are just incredible. And just like the last visit, the portion size was big enough to allow me to enjoy leftovers another meal!
Consistently good,...
Read moreA pretty decent place. This restaurant requires a kind of an overhaul in terms of interiors. Food can be much better - the biggest worry was that it didn't look freshly made at all. At one point we felt like we were eating leftovers. One thing I liked was the options for vegetarians. Desserts were good too. But overall, it did not live up to the rating it has (maybe it did in the past).
Food: It is a buffet only restaurant but priced very competitively. We tried a lot of things (that's the best thing about a buffet that you can take only as much as you want and you can try multiple things in small portions). Appetizers were good - mainly Veg Pakoda, Onion Rings and Samosa. Samosa was good even on its own - though a little more oily. In the main course - we tried Bhatura, Naan, Paneer Sag, Navratna Korma, Daal, Pav-Bhaji and Veg Biryani. While the breads were okay, the curries were a big let down. Surprisingly, Paneer Sag was very sweet - we felt like it was a Gujarati version of a Punjabi curry. Navratna Korma was actually good. However, Veg Biryani was nowhere close to the actual Biryani. It would have been a Pulav, at best. The biggest disappointment (coming from Mumbai) was Pav-Bhaji. Bhaji was surprisingly blood red - but not spicy at all. The taste was weird and I didn't go beyond the first bite. I am not sure what they did there but surely it didn't work. Pav was okay. The only thing that cheered up from the entire menu was desserts. We tried Gulab Jamun, Mango fruit custard, and Kheer. All the three rocked! But overall, they need to change their chefs. The varieties are great but the food quality is just not good.
Ambiance: Pretty dark and congested. I am not sure what the wall that separates two seating areas doing out there. The seats were torn and didn't look good at all. Big thumbs down for ambiance.
Staff: This was a good part. The lady there was helpful. People are friendly, although serious faces. There was a minimal interaction, so not too much to say here. But overall, I didn't find any concern there.
Overall, not a good food. Indian restaurants have been a big disappointment in the US, in general, with very few serving quality food. This restaurant is...

However, post-pandemic they have changed their strategy to just ripping people off with prices you'd typically find in a top class restaurant but tastes from a third class place - very low quality poor tasting food that's EXTREMELY over priced. Its really a complete rip-off now because you can order a chicken "biriyani" and just get rice mixed with curry, but they will charge $17.99 for the poor fare! (in their condescending response below, they try to explain this is because I did not know its "Punjabi Biriyani"... anyone who knows Indian food knows you dont go to a restaurant to eat Biriyani and be served rice mixed with curry - if they did, they would just order the rice and the curry and mix it themselves instead of getting charged $5 extra for mixing the 2)? Even a simple dal makhani costs $15 for a single serving size. They obviously let go of their usual cooks and have temporary ones now?
I cannot recommend anyone go here anymore unless you want below par, barely edible overpriced food (other reviews who still say it tastes good, do not know how to judge Indian food). I would not trust a place that can go this bad even for one day but its not...
