This place is absolutely toxic to not only the guests who are constantly disrespected, stolen from financially, but to new employees who get bullied, harassed inside and outside of work to where they need to be blocked so that threats stop, let alone the cleanliness. when I stayed there a man peed on the third floor vending machine and the rooms were nasty and the food made me sick because the breakfast person didn't wash her hands or use gloves and was sick sneezing all over the food, and the food is left out for days and most of the food is expired or moldy when it's out anyhow. The coffee pots are full of nasty deposits because they are never cleaned and are rarely fresh and I heard they had failed they're food inspection for hygiene and safety of the preparation. Let alone I saw other guest reservations get messed up constantly because there was always someone at the desk complaining which I'm sure is because the workers are all high and drunk on the job anyways. These girls always have their boyfriends there and would refuse to help guests during these times. I would highly recommend to find another hotel to stay at for the hygiene aspect, let alone the actual "hospitality" aspect of being respected as a guest.Be careful y'all they literally state to stay at your own risk while you're there.

I booked a one night's stay at The Wingate by Wyndham in Mansfield OH, and it was a very pleasant experience. The room was clean. The king bed was very comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. I would happily stay at this hotel anytime. Although my room was great, and the service was even better, the hotel does have a few areas where the decor is a bit dated. The carpet could be replaced, and the stairs from the main floor to the second, could be replaced or even stained to give them a fresh look. Again, these are just items to improve the 'look' of the interior. They in no way affected the comfort of my stay, or the great service showed by the staff.

I should of read the reviews first b4 booking. The service was very Courteous and friendly. The room was below avg for a Wingate Hotel. It definitely needs a makeover and TLC. Pool was closed, renovations were underway they said, beds were lumpy, no phone in room, the pillows looked more like couch throws. The room air kept the room warm and we needed air..the location of the motel was 20 mins the opposite way off the hwy, very disappointed. After all this we skipped breakfast in fear of what we might find. Sry Wingate we won't be choosing you again. Customer service was good tho..

As we traveled home from a vacation in Massachusetts, we decided to stop at the Wingate in Mansfield, OH. I'm not sure how to classify our stay. In some respects, it was a good stay. In others, it was not a good stay.||When we drove up, I had a sinking feeling when I saw that the sign on the building seemed to be hung over a sign for a different hotel brand. We've had too many experiences with booking hotels based on trusted hotel brands but discovering that the hotels had been sold to independents who provide sub-par accommodations and guest services. ||That bad feeling wasn't helped as we walked into the hotel lobby that was clearly under construction. The staircase was sealed off by caution tape, and the breakfast area room to the side featured 1970s decor that clearly wasn't under renovation. ||But, something happened next that was reassuring. The woman behind the check-in counter was warm and welcoming. She explained that Wingate had purchased this hotel from Country Inn & Suites and that the hotel was under renovation. She was very reassuring that the rooms (at least many of them) had been renovation and that we'd be happy with our stay. Our entire price for one night that included all taxes and fees was less than $130, so Wingate was discounting for the less-than-stellar condition of the overall hotel.||As far as the rooms, I'm not so sure renovations are complete. Actually, I hope they are not. The flooring is not carpet; it's linoleum. The bed was an IKEA type of metal bed frame. The furniture really looked cheap. The mattress was okay but not nearly as comfortable as we expected from a Wingate. The pillows were not okay. If bedding was new, I would not have expected the lumpy pillows provided. Most importantly, the bedding was merely a flat sheet, a top sheet, and then a "bedspread" that had the feel of another sheet -- super thin. There was no blanket. ||Also, AC was an issue. We entered the room that had no AC on. It was warm and muggy. We turned on the AC full blast and went to dinner. When we returned about an hour later, the room was cooler but definitely not cool. Basically, the room was fairly warm all night long.||We were hoping breakfast would be better. Basically, everything was basic. The warm foods didn't look very appetizing. When I opted for cereal, the twist mechanism to turn to get cereal out of the dispenser didn't work. I ended up taking the dispenser off the stand, removing the lid, and pouring cereal form there. Toast seemed like a safe bet until I saw the sign on the toaster that indicated users had to hold down the lever to toast the bread. And, the orange juice tasted like soap. We ended up leaving and going through a drive-thru for breakfast.||On the good side, Wingate did adjust the price of the room even without us asking for that. The location was great long I90, and a Taco Bell and Panera were within walking distance. Overall, I think the Wingate should not be open yet. I'm sure the stairs being shut down can't be okay with fire code, the lobby is so alarming, and the breakfast area sends the wrong message to guests. Will they return? ||Your bright spot was the woman who was working on the desk on 7/10 in the evening. If she hadn't been so warm and welcoming, we would have returned to our car and continued down the road when we saw the sign, the lobby, and the...

The reviews told me I was getting a 50/50 experience. That I did! The hotel was in what I considered a nicer looking area that was quiet. The room was clean comfortable and nice! The only noise I heard was from other room doors closing. They bang close hard. The air conditioner whistled a bit, but the nights were chill enough we opened the window at night. No more noise than what I would encounter at my home. Spacious with real bathroom doors and a closet. Working microwave and fridge. It lacked in electrical plugs and no usb ports. There was no wifi from stated remodeling that I didn't see happening the two days we were there, but got plenty of bars and used my data. The morning breakfast has a chance of being decent enough. Just wish the lady who ran it was as concerned about the empty meal containers as she was about the low plates. I mean we really didn't need twenty more plates if we had no eggs or potatoes to put on them. Again, the cups got filled then maybe 10 minutes later she realized the oj was empty and she never filled the water bin even after we saw her bring the bottles into the area. One day we came back and had lights but all the plugs were dead in the room. They were on top of that and did great figuring out how to solve it. We could then here them later in the evening checking all the rooms. How do we know? All those loud slamming doors. But, because the electricity was down I assume it affected the hot water heater, as there would be no hot shower or bath for me that night. sadness. I read in a previous review that they also had hot water...

Wow! I have never been so disappointed in customer service. I had to make this review to warn others and so they don’t get away with the way they treated me. Avoid this hotel if you can. I would give zero stars if possible. There was a loud, wild party going on above us for hours - past 1 AM. I’m usually very passive and don’t bother people. Plus, I didn’t want to stop the party as it sounded like they were just having a good time. After 4 hours of tossing and turning and being unable to sleep from the noise, I finally got the courage to say something. The workers refused to remind them about the quiet hours. “There’s nothing we can do about the noise.” Even though they have quiet hours past 10 PM. We had to leave in middle of night and drive home without any sleep. I tried talking respectfully to the general manager, Harry. He was very rude and refused my requested refund. He said “It’s just business, ma’am.” He started to raise his voice and become disrespectful. I didn’t need to him to be extremely friendly, but I wish he would have some human decency and be kind. This makes me very uneasy that he is out there running a business. Just be careful and hope you never have to interact with him. Also, they were complaining about how they don’t like expedia for various reasons, and I thought that was unprofessional. I could tell they valued me less because I booked through there. I could’ve asked for a room change (they should’ve offered but didn’t) but after everything and all that work, I figured I should just leave. What a waste. I will never be back or go to...
