Here we go again! I just was made to show my driver's license to buy Ghost of Yotei, mind you that I am 45 years old and old enough to be this women's Father. Ghost of Yotei has a Mature rating (17 years old). You don't even need to be a adult to buy this game, and you ID me cause "of it's mature Content". So let's rewind a few months, this same associate and I got into it about my paper driver's license, while I was waiting for my physical driver's license card. If you want to hear more about that story you can check out my Review on GameStop Ashland Ohio, which is now closed. Now Onterio brings this women to work at this store, horrible mistake. All the bad reviews on Ashland was about her. On top of that she asked 45 year old men for IDs to buy a game that's "recommended 17 years of age). Why do I have to have so much problems with this lady! She asks me 3 times to buy a protection plan! I said "I said no the 1st time lady". She tells me not to be rude. Ok, I kinda get that, But you had already harassed me over my driver's license 2 times at the other store, and now here at the Ontario store. Anyone else ever been ID for a video game, being a grown man almost in his 50s? In fact She knew actually who I was from our past interactions, she probably figured she would get me again with the Driver License thing. Only this time I had it sorted out and all good. To make it worse, I had pre-ordered the game. The lady I pre-ordered the game from didn't ID me, in fact I have NEVER been asked for an ID to buy a video game. This women is so rude, won't stop talking, her favorite thing to say is "and stuff" after she says something. So if a woman says to you, "It's always good to buy this protection plan *and stuff.....and keeps going and going and going, and All you want to do is buy your $70.00 video game and go home and chill....You know you been got by the "and stuff girl...Good luck to ya🙏 At the end of the Day, people are going into the store to buy video games and stuff 😁....We don't want to be pressured or pushed into buying extra things and stuff 😁. And we don't want a hassle. It's so much easier to click online and wait the 1 to 3 days for the mail to run. GameStop had some good memes about Xbox GamePass today. With Xbox raising the price of GamePass people might go back to buying hard copies. I'm sure that's what GameStop is hoping. But If I am going to have issues every single time I go into the store and Stuff 😁. Well let's re-train this girl GameStop Manager if you read this, Cause I enjoy going and looking and I don't want someone in my ear the entire time. I mean this girl even made me go across the store, so she could open the cabinet to get a PS5 Disk Drive out of it. I mean really? I could go on and on, but Hopefully I got my...
Read moreMy son was trying to trade-in his Nintendo Wii at GameStop and the first time did not go so well and he did not trade-in the Wii. So when he went the second time he did not have very high hopes. However, instead of the original person there was someone else. On the receipt it says that her name is Claire, so he would like to give a huge thank you to Claire. She was friendly from the start. She politely asked him why we had come in and how she could help him. He showed her the box of wii stuff and she quickly started the process of testing it and finding its value. Throughout the entire time even though she was busy with this she was complimenting the machine, the obvious care we had taken of it, and generally sharing how much she loved that system. When other customers came in it was no problem she managed to somehow make us feel good about our console, and take great care of the other customers. She gave great suggestions about the GameStop plus membership showing us that if we spent the 25 extra dollars it would pay for itself. Somehow she managed to do that in a way that did not make it feel like she was trying to be stingy, but that she actually cared about if we saved a few extra dollars. I cannot stress enough how excellent this service woman was it felt like an actual joy to spend large amounts of money. If she was the service woman there every time I would go to GameStop every day. I was there for over an hour but it felt like I was there for maybe 10 minutes. The president of the GameStop corperation should come down from his high position in the company and give this lady a medal for the hard work she puts in. She actually told us that this particular GameStop is one of the biggest sellers in the country and with her service I am not surprised. If every store and shop in the country had that kind of service then America would have the happiest people on earth. So once again thank- you Claire for this wonderful experience and my only regret is that I can't give you 10...
Read moreTerrible. Poor Customer Service. Misleading tactics. I called the store before driving out. The weather was freezing rain and it is a bit of a drive but I have been trying to get a Series X for over a year now. When I called I asked if they were getting Xbox Series X's in stock. He said we have them now. He did not tell me they only have bundles they created. I drove over in freezing rain. When I got to the store I told the two behind the desk I'm here for an Xbox series X. I was so excited to finally be getting one! He said okay and took over 15 minutes to put it in the computer. I wandered what was taking so long. It was $750! He added game pass (I already have Ultimate) and multiple games to the order. Games I already own. I was incredibly misled. They would not sell me an Xbox without all the extra games. She said it is to keep people from selling them for a higher price which is comical. I guess it's okay for GameStop to rip off customers that buy their membership but noone else. Three times they had an oppurtunity to tell me it was some "made up bundle" they created and the rediculous price and did not. I was expecting to pay retail $499. I am expecting a phone call from someone but the rep for Gamestop corporate said they have so many complaints it may be two weeks before I hear back. Coming from retail sales, I would never mislead someone like they did. It makes it more insulting. The store should have sold it to me and made it right but they are just trying to price gouge loyal customers instead. So disappointed at these rude, lazy workers, the store, and the company. I will be requesting my money back for the membership. We will see how that goes. Please, Don't Shop at Gamestop in Ontario, Oh...
