Panera Bread — Restaurant in Springfield Township

Store # 204780, 2070 Walker Lake Road, Ontario, OH. Update 8/20/2025: 2pm, Waited 5 minutes at counter...still no cashier. So, asked if there was a cashier...employee pointed ro employee behind us emptying trash cans. Thst employee then came to the register and took our order. Food was ready in 6 minutes...except, wife's salad was missing tomato and avocado....and soups were reversed on the plates. No touch paper towel dispenser in mens restroom was not working. Darn shame to experience at this store. Food is generally excellent. End update. Menu board on wall behind register included Turkey Chili and two sandwich melts made with gouda cheese. So ordered both the chili and sandwich only to be told they are out of gouda and out of turkey chili. So adjusted my order to include pick 2 with chicken wild rice soup and deli ham sandwich. When I reminded the order taker I just wanted the deli ham and not the more expensive black forest ham, (which happened at this store number before), she said "there is only one ham sandwich" in a somewhat curt manner. She also did not asked if I preferred a baguette, chips or fruit...fortunately, they gave the baguette which is...

This Panera bread is one that in the future I will go out of my way not to go to. I have been actively going to since 2018 when they started there sip club. I order online and despite the fact that they hit that the order is ready you go in and you have to wait to pick up the order tonight when I went to the sandwich maker and asked for my order they said just so you know, she can help you the person behind the counter had five people waiting in line. They should not bother with online orders if they can’t handle it. See picture of line.

The above review was one I posted a year ago we’re in 2025 and they still continue to push all online more orders to the front counter person. Who is this last time had three people in line. When another employee finally went to get my order, they discover G even know it said it was ready. It wasn’t this particular Panera bread is poorly run. When I called corporate, they said it was not their policy to push rapid orders on to the front counter person. So this is a management or local...

This place has gone down hill over the years. I have not set foot inside this building for many years and plan to never return. The front door handle was falling off just for starters. The temperature inside was so cold that we only stayed 15mins. (People were sitting close to the fireplace) The service was good! The employees were polite. The food was disgusting! I ate half of my salad and gave it back to the manager. The chicken was frozen and the lettuce was wilted and very old. I don't normally post reviews but this was embarrassing especially given the company name. I almost forgot. The restaurant as a whole was DIRTY! The tables, floors and soft drink area. (I'm sure they are short handed) You do as you please with your money but I will not give that location another dime. I've been to the Panera on Lexington Ave and had a much better experience. Again, the manager was polite and respectful. She offered my money back but it was past that. Sorry for the long rant but others must...
