I expected a little bit more to be honest, At first they gave us a room that smelled horrible, it smelled like football team sweat and damp carpet, the carpet was sticky, they changed us to another one that it was OK and the smell was fresher, but you could feel how it slowly the humidity increased out of nowhere, I'm not sure if it was AC issues or if they need a dehumidifier in each room, maybe the rooms need better ventilation, it made sense the other room trapped all the sweat and AC humidity from last guests.
The walls were too thin, you could hear the rooms next door stuff 👀, and we got issues with a front desk guy because our dog barked, I mean it was our fault that we left the dog alone while we went to eat lunch, but it was the first time we had this issue, normally hotels we stayed at had thick walls and our baby never bothered if someone passed by our door (which is when dogs usually bark the most), anyway after that we chose to go to outdoor restaurants with doggie so it wouldn't bother other guests, but after this issue, front desk people were a little bit "derogatory" (I would say, not the same friendly attitude) with us, regardless that we solved the dog issue, we couldn't feel comfortable anymore in the hotel.
We chose king size bed, it was big but it was too hard, my husband couldn't sleep due to back pain. The kitchen was really nice, lamps have their own plugs for chargers, but some things like trash cans, corners, furniture and tiles, you can notice the old or rust. This is why I can't leave 5 stars. We didn't paid our stay in this hotel because it was a gift, but knowing the actual price of our room around $200 this tbh should cost around $120 night at max.
Not everything was bad, I loved all the features, your own kitchen, big fridge, dish washer, plates and tools for cooking, not even one water bottle but it's alright we went out and purchase some. The food at the buffet is good! Specially that omelette with veggies, and I loved the Latina buffet lady, she made me smile, she was so sweet and is so caring and vigilant when the food ran out, a really hard worker for sure she deserves a rise!. The location of the hotel is spectacular, the Avion park dr. Is so nice it's almost next to the airport but far away enough that you would't get bothered by the plane's noises. You are close to a really good mall, stores and restaurants, between 5 min to max 15min drive. If I go back to Tampa I'd love to stay in Avion park but tbh we will try out another hotel (there are plenty in that street).

Read moreThe pots, dishes, silverware, can opener, fridge handle and toaster were all dirty with food stuck on them. The coffee pot had black mold growing in the filter tray. It also had standing water in the reservoir. The kitchen floor needed to be swept upon our arrival. Under the couch we found a hair tie, chips, half eaten granola bar, wrappers and lots of crumbs, dust and hair. The bathroom faucet still had spit marks from a prior guest. We were a family of 6 and called for 4 extra pillows. They brought us 2 pillows. The carpets were scheduled to be cleaned during our stay with no warning prior to our arrival and no discount for the inconvenience of lifting everything off the floor before we headed out for the day. When we returned to our room that night, there was a notification tag in the key slot that confirmed the carpets were cleaned. Upon entering the room, the first thing I saw was a piece of paper underneath the coffee table that one of my kids had knocked down before we left the room for the day. It was still there. How do you shampoo carpets and not lift up a piece of paper? Our Kleenex box had two pieces flowered up to make it look pretty but once you used those two pieces, you were down to the bottom where the yellow pieces were. The box was basically empty. The elevators smelled. There was an awful smell out back by the pool and bomb fire area. It was so bad that we did mention it to the front desk. It smelt like a rotting carcass. We could not enjoy the pool area for the three days that we were there because of the smell. The ladies that worked the breakfast area were not very kind to us if we told them that they were out of something, like fruit or butter. Or they just didn’t speak English very well and just walked away from us because they didn’t understand. The coffee bar was out of regular coffee both Saturday and Sunday when I went for a cup. Having no ice machine anywhere in the hotel was a disappointment. The shower head and faucet ran water constantly. It was more than a drip. We had to listen to it all night long. The shower head would leak onto the faucet and splatter water out of the bathtub. We had to keep towels bunched up on the floor to absorb all the water that was going onto the floor and replace those towels daily because they were soaked. There was a false representation of a full kitchen in the room because there was no oven and there was no frying pan for the stovetop. There were a few other minor things that happened but it is pointless to mention...
Read moreWe’ve been staying at this particular hotel for several years. Never had any issues. Very convenient for our needs. We just stayed there for Christmas and it was definitely a different experience. When we first walked into our suite, we found cookie crumbles scattered everywhere on the living room. Fine. We picked it up but didn’t complain. Questioned whether they even vacuumed the room. Went into the bedroom and found hair on the pillow. Not ours because we just checked in. Tossed the pillow out. Hair in the bathroom. Not ours. Next day we found a single flip flop laying next to our bed. That really confirms that they didn’t vacuum the room and didn’t change the pillow case. Bathroom was not cleaned. Had they vacuumed they wouldn’t found the flip flop. See photo. Question if they changed the sheets prior to our stay. We finally made the complaint with the front desk the second day and told us they were going to comp us a day and have the cleaning crew come up to change out the sheets and clean. Fine. We came back later and they made up one room and not the other (we had a keyboard on the bed which is likely why they didn’t touch the bed understandably). Problem is the single flip flop was still there!! Meaning they didn’t bother to vacuum AGAIN! We had to call and have them come back to clean. The housekeeping manager did call to apologize and confirmed the comp. She was nice and apologized. We checked out today and guess what? Front desk didn’t know about any comp! Meaning it was documented! So now we have to call the lander and sort it out. We never heard from the manager btw. ||We’ve always been happy with our stay here but this time was totally different. The cleanliness is a big deal for us, as for anyone so it’s a deal breaker. We stayed on the 4th floor this time which was a disappointment compared to the second floor we had before. Shower head barely gave water. Just trickles. Feels outdated compared to the other floors, however it was supposed to be newly renovated? We also found the other single slipper in the other room near the night stand 🤣||We will give them one more chance and if cleanliness is an issue again, we will be going back to...
