LOCATION: For anybody that needs to be in this area, this is a convenient location to be placed in. This hotel is on and near the cross street of Overland Dr./Jefferson Ave/Winchester Ave depending on which side you are facing. These intersections are always busy, but for ANYONE that may be coming out of town, this is GREAT because you are walking distance or a 5 minute drive from well known shopping, dining, gas stations and anything else you can think of in between.
PET FRIENDLY: THIS HOTEL IS PET FRIENDLY. So what does this mean? I am so glad you asked! Expect big dogs, little dogs, medium dogs and service animals all on leashes with their owners throughout the building. If the presence of dogs or any sounds remotely sounding like a dog, annoys you HEAD ON OVER to the Marriot and any other high end hotel that refuses animals. There are NO weird dog smells throughout the building!
BREAKFAST: This a grab and go type breakfast, not a hot meal. I don't know why people are outraged about this, the hotel sends an email confirmation of the hotel amenities prior to check in. If the thought of not eating a hot breakfast ruins your morning pick a dining option outside the hotel, go a friends house, pick another 4 to 5 star hotel with that those amenities. Plus each room has a kitchenette, so go buy some groceries. CUSTOMER SERVICE: is 5 out of 5 stars! IN ROOM FEATURES: The picture that you see within the rooms are accurate. It comes with a full size fridge, built in electric stove, a microwave and a sink with countertop, with cabinet space. I did have a situation where the fridge did not get cold enough for the groceries that I had purchased for my room. I told the front desk and guess what? They changed out my old fridge and stuck a new one in that gets nice and cold for my food! If that bothers you.. tell the front desk, or go to the regular hotels where they have no fridges. Simple as that.
ARE THERE HOMELESS PEOPLE WALKING AROUND? Temecula in general is considered an affluent community and city. Wikipedia it. What really concerns me is that if people do not look or dress like you, are you going to perceive and treat them as homeless? To answer the question, NO. BATHROOM AND ROOM CLEANLINESS: LADIES, rest assure! My room was cleaned and smelled like bleach and pine sol when I checked in. I checked every crack and crevice before moving my things in my room with a rubber glove and it PASSED. Ladies, if you feel EXTRA particular about the cleanliness of any hotel or bathroom, buy a can of lysol and some shower shoes. Simple as that.
ARE THERE ROACHES? NO, if anybody knows anything about roaches, roaches don't care who is in the room, what is being cooked, the weather outside or the time of day. Those suckers will surface itself PERIOD. This hotel passed!
INTERNET: The internet is free and only requires your name, hotel room number and email address in order for you to successfully have internet connection. I had multiple people in my room, so there was never a problem. The free version of the internet is great for browsing the internet, watching youtube, checking email. However, if you need internet for streaming and gaming purposes where you would consume at lot of bandwidth. They have an option when you connect to your room internet to purchase the advance internet option based on a daily, weekly or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've stayed in this hotel for weeks on end at times, in addition to several "short" (1-3 day) stays. I've stayed in quite a few different rooms that have been scattered within various locations of the hotel & its 3 stories. So, that being said, I think I'm definitely qualified to give a honest, reliable & knowledgeable review of this establishment!
To begin, PROS:
FULL SIZED FRIDGE WITH FREEZER! Microwave, stove, dishes, strainer, pots, pans, spatulas, drying rack, dish soap and silverware provided upon request for free. You basically get a mini kitchen. VERY BIG, HI-DEF TV with Direct TV. Some movie channels and large overall collection of channels available in the guide! AC works FAST! Fan in the bathroom. Overall quiet at night but not all the time. Nice bathroom/shower for the MOST part. For the most part, enough parking spaces. Close to other shops and stores, close to freeway.
CONS:
Smoke alarm will go off for the SIMPLEST thing; i.e. microwaving popcorn or using the stovetop AT ALL for any amount of time for whatever reason. Sometimes it turns off quickly, other times not. Keys for your room frequently stop working. It was a regular thing to have to go get new ones because ours just randomly stopped working. (Sometimes literally after just getting new ones) Housekeeping & even front desk employees like to do the whole "no knock no announcement" walk in thing that hotel goers just LOVE!š š The location is kinda annoying because there is only one way in, one way out. Which I know isn't their fault but it's still a huge inconvenience and so it goes under my "con" section. Oh yeah from like 12am to 6 am there isn't any employees at the front desk. Literally they just go to sleep in some other room so if your key stops working or whatever reason you need an employee for anything, you are just screwed and literally have to sit on your phone calling the front desk for TEN MINUTES STRAIGHT (and helps to have someone else banging on the front doors at the same time too) just to wake them up (yes I'm literally describing an ACTUAL OCCURRENCE of mine one night).
But overall good hotel. Stayed months here at a time and wouldn't have any issues...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTemecula , Ca. Stuck here for 3 weeks while house is repaired from water damage. Not a nice place, Noisy, smelly. Dog friendly hotel? No place to take them outside, building surrounded by bushes including oleander, have to drive them to grass when they need to go out. Nothing in the room as pictured, have to ask for anything in the kitchen, not always given to you happily, The picture of the "grab and go breakfast", they put 6 of each thing out at a time so it's hit and miss if there's anything there. Moldy smelling drains, maintenance had to pour water down our drains to fight back the smell in the bathroom. Broken, damaged and missing things everywhere. Electrical box in our room, lock is missing so the door just hangs open coming into the room. No vent cover above the stove, nasty and greasy fan. In the lobby the other day, a set of tiles falls off the wall, people see it happen, 2 days later they just leaned it up against the wall. Intrutions, people in the room to check the wifi, people in the room to check the fire alarms. Rushed outside at 6am for fire alarm, water shut off for a whole day in the hotel because of broken pipes. Then find out the city has a contract to give free rooms to the homeless and take vouchers from social services!! That explained the insane lady next door to us, accusing us daily of reporting her for making to much noise, not true, and telling us what a lovely day it is to be outside working in her yard , the hotel actually. This is without a doubt a "no star" hotel. We were paying top dollar per night,...
