Casa de Lucy — Restaurant in Temecula

I recently moved to Temecula and have been trying to find a good local Mexican restaurant to take the place of my favorite in my old neighborhood. I stopped by this location this morning, Sunday, to give it a try. In short, it came up short. I ordered a Michelada. I was brought a glass with commercial mix in it, salted rim, and a Modelo bottled beer. Essentially, having to mix my own. For $10, I expected a well mixed and tastefully prepared drink. The same is available in cans...the luxury of having it served at your table should not cost an additional $7. The pozole was of average taste, but, again, I expected a balanced portion of meat and hominy for the price. The cost of the dish was high for basically hominy soup with only 3--4 pieces of pork. A friend & I went here on a Friday afternoon. We weren't sure if you seat yourself or wait to be seated. So we found a clean table & sat down. The gal was not rude but she was also Not welcoming to us. The salsa that came with the chips was lackluster. There is a sticker on the front of the menu stating you have to add $2.00 to whatever price is on the menu. We asked for separate checks before ordering. She took our order without any emotion. However, when there were tables with male customers, she was VERY Friendly!! We got our food, it was just ok, nothing to come back for. We got 1 check! She didn't come back for a while so it wasn't even worth our time trying to get two checks. Went here today for lunch and ordered 2 burritos, a chicken fajita plate, and 3 sodas. It came out to $79 before the tip. When I asked why the prices on the bill were more than what was listed on the menu she told me that “all of my customers know the prices on the menu aren’t right, we charge more now.” I told her that it was my first time there and she said she would take $2 off.. I feel like it was unethical and possibly illegal to charge $4 more for each item than what was listed on the menu. They also said there was no refills on the sodas that we were charged almost $4 for. Definitely won’t be back.
