Banzai — Restaurant in Temecula

Was very disappointed with our experience. We took my brother n law out here for dinner and at first it was okay. till the chef came. Customer service was not great, just confirmed our orders and that was it as far as conversation goes. He just looked like he was not happy or did not want to be there. but he was nice enough to come back and serve extra lobster for those who ordered as even he said himself he didn’t like the portion of the lobster we got. We ordered the shrimp appetizer & calimari. We never got the calimari and was not addressed till we were leaving. While explaining I was still eating and she did bring take out boxes, but she started packing my food like I literally still had my fork in my had and she took my plate and started packing me up to go. I even said oh not it’s okay I’ll do it when I’m done. Totally disregarded me. She also brought out our receipt at the same time of all of this. My husband paid total was $101 and the. My brother n law asked ( cause he’s not from Cali ) what a decent tip was. We were talking about it and then she comes back with the receipt to sing see’s my brother n law holding the cash and offered to give it to the cook. I’m looking at the receipt and notice the total Amount was $110 so she had already pulled $9 tip. She then proceeded to please circle the tip % and add the tip amount and was like begging so she can pay the lady who washes the dishes and that they can split with the cooks . I was upset that she would do something like that and was taken back but instead of causing a scene we just left cause I was not having it. it was unprofessional! And very rude! we did not appreciate that and this was a first I have ever had anything like this happen to me. we do not recommend this place. The food , it was not the best either everything was made pretty much the same with the same sauce, same seasoning. The only thing I actually complimented and like was their salad...

Our friends made dinner reservations last night at 7:00 p.m. for a party of eight. Four adults and four kiddos. We were there slightly early but on time. We were seated after they seated other late parties and left us at the table for almost an hour without any communication or service (we actually timed it). No water, no nothing. The owners daughter WU NGUYEN started to serve other tables all out of order. You can literally see the frustration in other guests face around the restaurant. She eventually came to our table to take our order with the most rude and entitled attitude ever. She was verbally pushy, rushing and straight up didn’t care. She just says “oh can’t you hear my mom yelling at me?!” No that’s not our problem but with your attitude I can see why. We tried to take our orders and she just says “your not even ready!” and skipped us. We all placed orders eventually and we wanted calamari but she said the kitchen is closed and we’ll have to see. Why is it on the menu then? The atmosphere was intense and negative. The other guests were all frustrated and another table next to us all walked out. We decided to walk out too and she tried to stop us and said we’re not going. We said yes we are. After we were checking out our tabs WA NGUYEN physically pushed with two hands against my fiancé’s shoulders and pushed him. Then she proceeded to grab his arm yelling at him. WA NYUYEN I’m spreading this review about you like a bad case on social media. If there is something that needs to be communicated or resolved, then COMMUNICATE then! That was the problem right off the bat. No communication equals a bunch of problems. I hope your establishment...

Not bad, it has some really positive notes and some not so great notes. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked, good portions, very reasonable prices. We had a large party at the Tepan grill and our chef was wonderful. Couldn't have asked for more. Funny, friendly, entertaining.

The rest was a little below my hopes. I totally understand how difficult it is to serve for a large party, which is why I think maybe it might have been better for us to have 2 servers for our party of 13. I give our server credit in the beginning, he was running around getting our drink orders as best he could... but then he started to bring back the drinks and then just disappeared without giving us the rest. I ordered a sake and got it maybe 20 mins later. The eggrolls we ordered with our drinks arrived 40 mins later after we asked about them 3 times. He would come back for a moment, we'd ask for something, and then he'd leave again and never bring it. 2 other people in our party asked for another drink at different times and neither of them got it in under 20 mins. Lastly, whoever prepared our chef's food ingredients didn't give him the right number of portions, so after everyone got their food we realized 2 people had been left out.

Beyond that the restaurant itself looks quite outdated, not that that's really a big deal though. It has a bright neon sign above their bar, written in handwriting that looks very out of place, and the dishes and silverware have a 90s feel to them with the imprinted floral patterns :P

But like I said, if great food is all you're looking...
