My wife and I stayed at this hotel as part of a quick 3-day getaway. We chose this property because it appeared, in pictures, to have a nice pool. This was important because the temperatures were going to be in the 100’s.||||Check-in was smooth and easy with Shawn. He explained the breakfast and cocktail hour details, and later helped us with getting an extra pillow. Later at the cocktail hour, there was Shawn again pouring drinks and taking care of the guests. We noted that he was really hustling around and asking everyone at all of the tables if they needed anything.||||The cocktail hour and the morning breakfasts were very good. There was a good selection of food and drink options, much more than we are used to compared to other properties that we’ve stayed at. We also used the gym, which had a good selection of weights and cardio machines (ellipticals, treadmills and bike). ||||We stayed in a king suite, and we really liked the layout with the kitchenette that was well appointed with silverware, etc. There was a nice sofa/ottoman combo that was very comfortable when watching the large television. The bed was also very comfortable, and we both slept very well.||||Our bathroom shower had a little bit of what appeared to be mold in a spot, as well as hair in the corner that wasn’t ours. OK, a little gross, but we can just wash that down the drain. We then noticed a dirty bathroom vent and dust on the shelves around where the towels were. There were also dark marks on the bathroom walls that could be fixed with a little paint (or maybe even a Magic Eraser). Went to use one of the folded towels and found several long black hairs in it. OK, grossed out now. ||||The next day, we went out to the pool around 11:00 am. There was nobody at the pool, and we hadn’t seen anybody at the pool all morning. There were no pool towels, so I walked to the front desk. They said that the towels were just coming out of the laundry, and that they would bring the towels to us at the pool. Went back to the pool to wait (it’s around 93 degrees) and we noticed that the pool was pretty dirty and cloudy. There was a lot of debris on the bottom, including clumps of hair. There was even a beer can floating around in the pool. After 30 minutes of waiting for towels, I went back to the front desk. He then said “she is folding them right now” and they would bring them right out. OK, we’ll go in the pool because it’s hot and we’ve been waiting outside for the towels.||||We pushed our way through the dead bugs, hair and debris to hang out in the water. After a little while, we decide to get out of the water because we have to constantly push the dirt away. The towels still haven’t arrived after an hour and ten minutes, so I called the front desk from in the pool. The manager, Jackie, answered and I asked her to step out to the pool when she had time. Jackie came out and I asked her what time they usually clean the pool, because it was very dirty and cloudy (I was really hoping for an excuse about why they haven’t done it yet). Jackie insisted that the pool had already been cleaned, even after I pointed out all the debris (beer can, dead bugs, clumps of hair) and cloudy water even though there was no wind and no guests using the pool. Jackie then walked away saying that she would have the maintenance man clean the pool “again”. I didn’t get to address the towel issue with Jackie because she walked away. Luckily, the towels finally showed up while Jackie was leaving.||||I write reviews often, and I like to give the manager a chance to respond if we have a negative experience. Jackie didn’t seem interested in our issues. This property is so nice, but the lack of cleanliness is a big deal to us. It’s too bad because it is so preventable. Just for info, there are several reviews on the IHG website that mention dirty rooms. I wish I had checked those reviews...

Read moreI checked in late after a cross-country drive while moving my family back to the area. We had to close on the house, and get it set up for living and opted to stay at a pet-friendly IHG property for an extended period and thus opted for a suite. Shaun first assisted with check-in and was super friendly and awesome exceeding expectations. The first room we were placed in had some shower drain issues, and he promptly slid us into the next room over. A true gem to deal with after the long drive. Not to speak less of the rest of the team behind the desk, we extended several times and everyone was sincere and personable; Shaun just stood out a little above the rest with genuine interest in the customer.
The room was great, and housekeeping team met every need we had for the room. The rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable, updated, and well-equipped. Social nights were fun and usually run by Shaun.
Breakfast was sufficient, but only as long as you're there no later than about 8am. Food runs short afterward, and another guest mentioned she had been waiting for eggs since 830 (it was about 910) and the breakfast handler said they take too long to cook and wouldn't be serving anymore since breakfast ends at 930. On another occasion, breakfast's entree was chips and salsa. The waffle maker was also down the entire time of our stay. On every morning that a good breakfast was available, it was great! Perhaps the food handler was just having a rough day; she was typically friendly most other days.
Safety/Security was a primary thought when establishing this property as the area is well-lit, and the doors remained locked/secured at an optimal schedule. There was a security guy I met one evening when extending my stay with Shaun.
Pets; I brought my small Australian Shepherd with us for the move and she was welcomed at the hotel. The pet relief area is restricted to a small area in the back to keep the common grounds for non-pet people clean and sanitary; it seems most guests abided by this rule. The pet area is a little small (about 10x10), but sufficient for the purpose. Bags were available, but this area is where guests would slack and not clean up their dog's mess.
Thanks, Staybridge Temecula team! When I have a need in the area for a stay, Staybridge will be my recommendation. Y'all...
