I've been coming into Postino Annex for well over a year now and I have yet to be disappointed, even in the slightest amount. The original appeal for me was their killer happy hour deal, $5 pitchers (two full pints) of beer and $5 glasses of wine, ANY wine on the menu. I'm always looking for the best happy hour specials and this one simply can't be beat. But this isn't the only reason that I keep coming back.
I've worked in the service industry for most of my adult life, from dishwasher to management and everything in-between. So now, whenever I go out to a restaurant, I find myself subconsciously over-analyzing everything from the wait times, the steps of service, how long my water glass sits empty, the cleanliness of the restroom, if the server gave us their name, etc. It's actually really distracting and takes some effort for me to tap out of that mindset and just enjoy the experience.
The main reason that I keep coming back to Postino Annex, is because I never find myself being distracted in those ways. I can sit at the bar or at a table on the patio and read my book or work on my computer and I know that I'm in really good hands. The staff is always super friendly and efficient and they all seem like they actually want to be there, like they really love what their doing. It's a very well oiled machine which can only be the result of really good (and reoccurring) training and very strong and supportive management. This is the type of place where I would want to work if I were looking for a job, somewhere that I can have a good time while feeling confident in my team and my peers.
I keep coming back for the $5 pitchers, but I stick around for the good vibes and a "distraction-free"...
