I lived in a suite-style room, meaning I had one roommate in my room and we shared a bathroom with two suitemates. The room itself was surprisingly spacious and you could move the furniture around to best fit your needs, if the beds were lowered it would not have been so spacious however. In the fall semester the rooms were freezing and it is central air so we had no control over the temperature. Pack multiple blankets, get used to sleeping in a hoodie and sweatpants. Also get ready to need gloves while doing homework in the room cuz it gets that cold. The bathroom is small and I wish it had a shelf on the wall to put clothes or towels on. No bathtub, just a standup shower that looks disgusting and moldy. If you live with all girls the drain will get clogged and it will be gross to clean out. I bought a TubShroom (look it up) and used that which helped. Also the toilet flushes very loudly. Walls are VERY thin and it sounds like the people in the room next to you or in the hallway are talking or playing music IN your room. Also there is always someone playing loud music and sometimes it goes late into the night so if you want to sleep invest in noise cancelling headphones. People yell and slam doors often. The window in the room is large but doesn't open which seems highkey illegal but whatever. Maintenence guys are very nice and always come quickly and are very polite, so if you ever need something fixed definitely go to them before getting charged for it at the end of the year. All of the staff are super nice and friendly. The CA's weren't the most professional at times and I think most of them are just taking advantage of the free room and stipend and don't actually care about the residents. The Starbucks and UPS Store in the lobby are nice. The UPS store does not have good hours though...
Read moreDO NOT LIVE HERE I moved in as an incoming Freshman for the 2023-2023 school year. The dorms are completely inhabitable. My room had not had air conditioning since we’ve moved in as well as every bodies air on my entire floor. In the summer the rooms got up to 89 degrees and the rooms dropped below 45 degrees in the winter. I had installed my own small heater and air conditioner for the climate. Because there is no air flow the rooms all have mold, so bad my friend had frequent sinus infections which resulted in them being hospitalized. We got the rooms tested and they all were positive for mold but we were told they would be fixing the dorms any time soon. Along with the no air conditioning we do not have hot water. We haven’t had hot water since October… it is now April. They have put off fixing it for months. Luckily my family lives close so I can drive home to shower. Also do not count on having drinkable water. All of the faucets have been producing milky white water. I have attached images. They told us it’s safe to drink which is laughable. We all pay to het water from the Starbucks near by. The director that is in charge has zero sense of urgency just like maintenance. It took them 3 months too fix the lights in my room. Whatever you do, DO NOT LIVE HERE. Request to switch to the Manzanita or...
Read moreI have been living in Palo Verde East for about a semester and a half now. Here is everything i’ve dealt with: day one: broken lights, outlet next to sink completely exposed, three outlets do not work, the closet light sparks, my bed literally broke, holes in the walls and ceiling everything else: roaches constantly, mildew and mold in the bathroom because the shower floods the bathroom every time it’s used, toilet takes 2-3 flushes to actually work, didn’t have hot water the entirety of the first semester, flying ants, holes in pipes, broken window shade, the elevators have broken so many times I lost count, they have blatantly ignored any concerns revolving myself or others in the building, and my dorm hasn’t gotten above 55 degrees since i moved in. Live here at...
