Sadly, I need to share the terrible experience I had at Art Florist in Rockville Centre. As a town resident, I have used this florist for over 10 years. My best friend’s father passed away unexpectedly. I had known this man since I was 13 years old ~ for 40 years. I went into the florist in person to explain how important it was that this order be perfect. While there, I also purchased Easter decorations as I normally do. They promised me that a beautiful arrangement of white lilies and white roses surrounded by green hydrangeas would be delivered to the funeral home. You can only imagine how I felt when I arrived at the wake services and after grieving with the family, noticed that my flowers were nowhere to be found. In the back of the room, I finally noted a small vase of 3 to 5 pink flowers with a large pink bow. I was shocked when I realized the card was from me and my family. This was an unexpected loss of such an important person. I was mortified and embarrassed by this arrangement. To make matters worse, when I called the florist immediately, I was greeted by the most rude and unsympathetic woman. As our conversation continued, I was shocked to realize that I was dealing with the self proclaimed “manager of 35 years” Debbie. Her attitude was so poor and uncaring. She responded “well accidents happen.” When I requested that my order be fulfilled and sent to the funeral home, “ I heard mumblings of “I don’t think I even have those flowers in the store.” Debbie’s solution was a refund. She disgustingly implied that I hadn’t spent enough money for her to be bothered with my order (despite having spent over $200.00 in the shop.) I will NEVER use Art Florist again. Bad business! I wish I could understand how such a bad business has stuck around. The obnoxious behavior ! The old refrigerated flowers! The lies! They try to convince you they know what you are looking for complete with their lies! When your bouquet turns brown on the way to the event you can be assured those flowers that looked so lovely in refrigeration are old old old! Fully bloomed flowers are on their way to turning brown ! This place only has fully bloomed old flowers! I specified in my order exactly how I needed it before ordering . After repeating the specifics they assured me my order will be exactly what I asked for . It was that they lied telling me I never specified water tubes and they dont do anything anyway . What lies!!!!! I specified what flowers I wanted and colors of which was a waste of time and meant absolutely nothing! explained it was for a graduation so they were going to be out for a while . They gave me old flowers without water tubes as I specified . I have since learned that old flowers is very common for this shop. They look fresh in refrigeration but once they become room temperature they start showing how old they are very quickly . The flowers didn’t last through the graduation which was indoors . Their flowers are old I specified buds . I also asked for a refund and all I got was lies and excuses. They refused to do anything to rectify the situation so I had to escalate it because I felt scammed . Old flowers die quickly. They are at the end of their lives when they are fully bloomed . Art Flower and Gift Shoppe is truly an amazing place. Keith and Debbie and everyone who works there are always cheerful happy and willing to help. I have been getting flowers there for my wife and my daughters for over four years. The first time they delivered flowers to my then girlfriend my now current wife I told them that they would be doing my wedding flowers. The flowers on that first they were gorgeous and the flowers they eventually did do for our wedding or amazing. This is not just a business but a place that understands The Human Experience. I never cease to be amazed and more importantly my wife has never once been unhappy with the beautiful Creations that they do. We just need to give Debbie or Keith a little idea about what you want and they take the beauty of creation and turn it into a magical experience. Service is always amazing. It is always timely and I honestly have never had a problem. I am sure the few extra minutes I had to wait on my wedding day were probably my own nerves and they were probably early and not late hahaha please consider using these wonderful folks anytime you...
