Vulcano 081 is an excellent Italian Neapolitan pizzeria in Rockville Centre. The house made pastas are excellent and all the staff were observing proper Covid precautions. I felt very safe dining inside. Also, have you ever had Portuguese octopus?

The restaurant is spacious, the diners were spaced more than 6 feet apart, and the restaurant was not full of people.

We enjoyed the octopus, crab cakes, black garganelli, cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage and the Vulcano pizza.

The crab cakes were crispy and large.

The pasta and pizza were the stars of the show. The black garganelli was perfect shape to absorb all the sweet tomato briny sauce. This dish was overflowing with the generous amounts of octopus and shrimps. I could not get enough of this dish.

The cavatelli was so fresh and springy. It absorbed all the savory butteriness of the sausage and slightly bitterness of the rabe juices.

The octopus was oven roasted with wood. It was so tender and had a great sear on the outside. It was served with house made humus, crispy salami and cherry tomatoes. This was my favorite way to eat octopus. From now on, I only want my octopus Portuguese style.

The Vulcano Pizza was also perfect. I am a fan of the soft pillowy wood-fire seared pizza. The tomatoes were sweet, the spicy salami contrasted mildly spicy pickled jalapeno and the honey made the whole dish sing. This was as good as the pizza from Pizza loves Emily.

I will def return for the pastas, pizza and...

I ordered from here rice and samon and a Alfredo pasta not only was the portion so small the food was extremely bland and the “pasta” was more of a soup and came with no pasta at all it had Alfredo and vegetables and 5 mini shrimp DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE UNLESS YOUR RICH AND YOU DONT LIKE GOOD PORTIONS I hear the only thing good from here is the pizza besides that don’t waste your time the staff lies and doesn’t give you what you ordered don’t waste your time here with this place go order from a decent Italian restaurant like la bottega that actually has good food amazing portions for good prices I paid 52 dollars at this vulcano restaurant and the food wasn’t good at all and the portions were disastrous it will barely full you at la bottega I usually get a pasta in a huge round dish for 23.00 and it comes with bread DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE I’m warning you the the other reviews here are probably fake because I didn’t hace a good experience with this place at all get decent food the REVIEWS AT THE TOP ARE FAKE FROM THE RESTAURANT OWNERS TO COVER UP BAD REVIEWS IF YOU SCROLL DOWN YOULL SEE THE BAD REVIEWS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME...

One word to best describe Vulcano....ridiculous! and i mean ridiculous is best sense of the word. The food was ridiculous, the service was ridiculous! Love the atmosphere of the place and the music was just the right volume whereas everyone doesn't have to raise their voices in order to have a conversation. Adrian the bartender was quite possibly the best server out there....a better soul you will not find. Hes the reason for the fifth star in this review....the fourth was the food. I had the Valentina Pizza and OMG....Delicious. Prosciutto, mushrooms, caramelized onions and just the perfect amount of char on the bottom. I wanted to take a before and after shot to show my empty plate but it was taken before I could snap one.....take my word for it....I ate the entire thing!! My GF ordered the Goat cheese salad and I quote "this is the best salad I have ever had"...her words not mine. I usually wait for a second or third trip before I post a written review but I know a gem when I see one and needless to say we will be returning very very soon. Can't wait to...

I love Vulcano 081. The immediate obvious reason is for its amazing pizzas. If you want an authentic pizza that rivals that of the greatest pizza makers in NYC, this spot is it. Their pizzas have bold daring tastes (to this Long Island girl at least) that are unrivaled thus far. The drinks are amazing. My favorite, the Black Raspberry Lychee martini, is almost always unavailable now because it's the best. The ambiance is very nice, dim lighting gives an Italian cobble street aura which is the photo on their back wall. The center of the restaurant gives itself to a large Gold mosaic brick oven. It's really great to watch, see and smell your food being prepared. (Walking past it feels great during these random seasons #climatechange) However, the true gem of this restaurant is its staff. Attentive and precise, these are people who make it the amazing restaurant that it is. Adrian is gorgeous and so kind, Lisa is welcoming and sweet and Santos is fast and attentive. On a rough day this is my spot, like coming home to rest.

It's been awhile since I've been here but it's as good as it's always been. Came here for dinner with my husband. It is a nice small town dining spot. More of an intimate setting. The staff was wonderful. All of them were super attentive, one was always on top of the drinks, another was on top of the food, another was always attentive to clear the table and pack leftovers. They have a tues Wednesday special of a four course meal, it was an absolute steal! You got an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert for less that $30. The portions were just right! We both choose different items to share and have a taste of everything. The suppli was packed full of flavor. The pizzas were just as incredible as i remember! The Margherita was and has always been my favorite there with the Bianca coming in as a close second. Ended the night with tiramisu and chocolate gelato, it was perfect finish to the night.

The decor in this restaurant is nice. My family has been here many times and always recommends it. I really liked how the oven was open in the middle of the restaurant for everyone to see. That transparency is always great. I got the Mixed Baby Greens Salad with Grilled Chicken and it was excellent. The Goat cheese has such a great taste and was slightly warm which just melted as I ate it. We also had a Margarita Pizza which was ok overall. It seemed to be lacking on the amount of sauce and its flavor. I was definitely expecting it to be better but I’ll give it another shot next time I’m back there. Update: I tried the Filetti Pizza today and it was much better than the Margarita Pizza. I would definitely recommend trying this pizza!
