I love this island. It's the best island of all Islands Clearwater's too busy and Commercial, St Pete Beach is too young and hustle bustle, but Treasure Island, it's the perfect balance of both it's got the old Florida Style mixed with dash of young vibrant attitude and people. Sadly has gone through a lot of Heartache recently losing a lot of its businesses because of people coming in and trying to change things for the way they perfectly are to putting in a huge parking lot where the downtown Treasure Island area was what all of our businesses and the perfect little Bermuda Triangle of restaurants shops and bars. Watch out for the city of Treasure Island, they are just money hunger. I put directionals signs and the city took off stating that they have ordinances. You are only allowed 3 directionals signs Saturday & Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00. Yet they are signs all over the city after before and after 4:00, they just target certain signs or whenever they feel like it. Jackie the so call code enforcement said that , "unfortunately I can't work 24/7" , but if they have that ordinance then they should have someone working 24/7 to comply with their own ordinances. The Treasure Island Building Department is pathetic and has been for years. They don't have ladders to do roof inspections! Contractors need to to provide them to the city on the job site.....then drive back to retrieve the ladder. another day. Being a 35 minute from Clearwater I wonder why do I have to pay for the permit and provide a ladder? Next year will we need to drive the inspector the job site to inspect the roof or gas up the tank in the city's truck.
