After visiting Treasure Island for almost 20 years we have passed right by this venue and never stopped. On our recent trip, we were viewing reviews and found Foxy's. After looking at the menu thought we would give it a try. This will definitely be a place we return to often on future visits.
LOCATION:
Foxy's cannot be any easier to find when visiting the island. They have a large, very brightly lit front facing the Causeway before getting to Gulf Blvd. As one of our pictures show if you are on the Causeway heading toward Gulf Blvd and are at the clock tower just look directly to your right. Plenty of reserved free parking in their large paved lot so no searching around for parking and trying to feed the meter here.
FOOD:
Foxy's has a very large and varied menu of almost anything you are looking for outside of fresh seafood. Everything we tried here was served hot and freshly cooked to order. It is not a gourmet place but for good food served well it is a great place.
SERVICE:
This is where Foxy's won us over. We originally sat outside on the sidewalk area which is very comfortable, has an awning to protect you from rain and has large ceiling mounted fans to help keep you cool. The area is well lit so you have plenty of light to read the expansive menu and to see your food.
Our server was on top of everything and gave great recommendations. She was truly a 5-star server and easily could have beat many servers in some of the local 5-star venues we have eaten at.
When another party sat at the table directly behind us they all five lit up cigarettes as soon as they sat down. Despite being an outdoor table the smoke was overwhelming and almost immediately my asthma began to flare up. I asked the server if we could relocate and without asking any questions she immediately offered us any table of our choice and brought our food, drinks, and utensils along even offering new plates.
PRICE:
By far this has been the most economical place we have eaten at while on the island. You get great portions at very good rates and the food is much better and much more cost effective than any fast food location you might find while offering a wide variety of options.
In our opinion, you will not be able to beat Foxy's for Location, Service, Food, or Price so it is a place we will highly recommend and retu8rn to when on...
Read moreOn Fri 07/17/20 at 7:40 p.m. I ordered a burger and fries for which the prices that were listed on the menu I was given were $8.69 for the burger and 1.69 for the fries. Five minutes after placing my order while waiting for the food I asked the same server for extra napkins. The server brought me back a napkin holder with pull-out napkins. The sales tax is 7% so my bill with tax should be $11.11 When I was done eating I put a $20 bill next to my plate. The same server came back and asked me if I would like her to go ahead and cash me out and come back with the change. I said yes. The server comes back hands me $7.00 and said to me 'here's your change" I told the server the change is incorrect and that the correct change should be $8.89 based on the prices on the menu she had provided me. The server replied by stating the prices for beef items went up and that she had grabbed the incorrect napkin holder which displays their alleged increased price for beef items. There are several problems with this answer. The first is that at no point did the server ever state to me that the prices for beef items on the menu were not up-to-date. And her response that she grabbed the 'wrong napkin doesn't fly either because I asked for extra napkins 5 minutes AFTER I placed my order-so the server was essentially admitting to me that had she grabbed the alleged 'napkin holder with the notice of increased prices for beef items' then I would have discovered the increase charge after I had already placed my order -and had I not asked for extra napkins I would have never known about the alleged price increase. This server clearly thought that I wouldn't notice a discrepancy and in a slimy way either tried to steal $2 from a patron (if there was no increase in price) or tried to take the approach of not saying anything about a price increase and hoping I wouldn't notice an incorrect change amount-neither of which are acceptable. I have been to this restaurant numerous times-and unfortunately for them this will...
Read moreWell, I’m giving Foxys a bad review, a place that I’ve been going for 10 years. The woman on the phone was so inbeyond bizarre. She refused to read me any of the vegetable toppings that they have claiming that she doesn’t have a menu in front of her and she doesn’t have access to the computer, I told her that we were vegans and we don’t want any meat or any cheese so when she did start reading them, she started off with meat and I told her please stop. We don’t eat meat. She claim she couldn’t hear me couldn’t hear me couldn’t hear me every time. I asked her if she could give me an idea of the vegetable toppings. She kept claiming she couldn’t hear me. Couldn’t hear me. Couldn’t hear me every time. She did say we have tomatoes onions olives green peppers. I knew they had tomatoes, olives, onions but what else do you have. I asked for artichoke, she said I never heard of that. We don’t have that then she started pretending that I was cutting out and told me to call her back and of course I called back and she didn’t answer. She did call back after a few minutes and we started over with the same nonsense so I finally got to five toppings and I said but I can order more for a dollar right and at some point, she said look if you want that toppings you need to go to Pizza Hut or Papa John’s. So I just told her OK I’m gonna give you a bad cause you are not selling this restaurant. I hope that Foxys twice about having someone like that being in their Customer service as the...
