This was our first time to attend a sand sculpture event and we were not disappointed. We drove from Hernando Beach (52 miles) and attended on Saturday, November 20th at noon. We had to circle a parking area a few times to get parked but it was not impossible to park. We lunched at Bilmar (a different review) before heading out to the Sanding Ovation event. We were amazed at how large these sculptures were and the fine detail and artistry in each and every piece! We had expected there to be more sculptures and vendors, but with the in uncertainty of Covid, understand it played havoc with planning this year. The vendors were talented artists as well, displaying an assortment to choose from. Our visit ended around 5 pm as the air began to chill down, so we were unable to stay to see the lights on the sculptures at night and the fireworks. Did I mention this event was FREE? First of all it's free if you can find parking and it's just a great way to view the beach listen to the music visit all the different vendors that they have and look at all this beautiful sand art. It is a great way for you to spend a couple hours just enjoying that atmosphere.
