My sister and I stayed at this hotel for four days. We checked in on a Thursday evening. We had to wait about forty five minutes since there was only one receptionist. I checked in and asked him at what time was breakfast and he said at six am. The next day we went down to have breakfast and to our surprise there was none. They have a sit down restaurant that charges you fifteen dollars for a plate described as eggs, bacon, potatoes, bread and fruit.
We got one piece of toast, eggs were scrambled instead of over medium, 1 thin slice of an orange, and maybe 2 tablespoons of potatoes. We were shocked. The only girl attending the crowd was very sweet and trying to attend everyone as best as she could. She took the wrong eggs and brought back overeasy eggs and instead of bacon, sausage. Everyone was complaining abt not knowing that there was no continental breakfast or something. I asked her for her manager and she said he wasn’t there. It was just her and the person heating up the plates.
We then went to the front desk and asked for a manager there. Sylvia came out but she was very rude and said that some tickets include breakfast and some don’t. She also added that it was not a Holiday Express or some other (cheap) hotel that offered a continental breakfast. I told her that it seemed there were many people who didn’t realize it because everyone that was going down looking for breakfast had no idea either. She herself explained that she had to clarify to about ten clients the day before about there being no breakfast included and that it hadn’t been a problem. It made no sense and she just wasn’t hearing it. I suggested maybe adding a sign at the front desk to alert people but she just smirked.
I expected that at least one or partial of one of the breakfasts would have been refunded as it was brought out wrong twice but nothing. In addition, we went to the gym to work out and none of the treadmills were working. We called the office and were told the technicians were on their way in to fix them in abt thirty minutes. We were there for over an hour and no one showed up. When we checked out there was no credit, no apology (if nothing else, at least for the confusion or ?) nothing.
This isn’t a cheap hotel. So you would think they would have more professional, more caring managers.
At check out, again only one person checking out so the wait again was long.
Definitely not staying at this...
Read moreFamily Stay Review – Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley (20–21 March 2025)
Our two-day family stay at Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley N – Union City was a blend of comfort, convenience, and a few surprises. Here's a breakdown of our experience:
🛏️ Accommodation & Comfort We booked a double room (Standard Double Room with two Double Beds), which was spacious enough for all of us (2 adults & 2 kids) to unwind after long days of exploring the Bay Area. The beds were comfortable, and the room was equipped with essentials like a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and ample charging ports. However, the interior felt slightly dated, and the carpet could use a refresh. Still, housekeeping kept everything clean and tidy.
🍽️ Dining Experience The on-site restaurant offered a decent breakfast spread with fresh fruit, eggs, and pastries, juices, though the variety was limited for longer stays. We appreciated the kid-friendly options and the attentive staff who made sure our little ones were well taken care of.
🏊 Amenities & Facilities The outdoor heated pool was a highlight for the kids. It was clean and well-maintained, though a bit chilly in the evening breeze. The fitness center was compact but functional, and the free parking was a big plus for a family traveling with a rental car. Wi-Fi was reliable throughout the property, which helped us plan our outings and keep the kids entertained.
📍 Location & Accessibility The hotel’s location was ideal for day trips to San Jose, San Francisco, and Fremont. We even squeezed in a visit to the Oakland Zoo, which the kids loved. Being close to major highways made commuting easy, though traffic noise was occasionally noticeable from our room.
👨👩👧👦 Family-Friendliness The staff were warm and welcoming, offering helpful tips for local attractions. The hotel felt safe and accommodating for families, with non-smoking rooms and elevators that were stroller-friendly.
The bathroom, while clean and functional, felt noticeably compact—especially the toilet area, which might be a tight fit for taller guests or families with young children."
📝 Overall Impression While the property could benefit from some modernization, the service, location, and family-friendly atmosphere made our stay enjoyable. It’s a solid choice for families looking to explore Silicon Valley without breaking the bank.

Read moreI stayed there October 19th 2024 for one night. This was my second stay. The first time, there were a lot of people at the hotel, but we did not hear our neighbors. The room was a bit dingy, but the bed was soft. But this time, it was horrible! When I asked for a refund due to the lack of privacy, the manager told me it was standard to put different people in adjoining rooms even though it is possible to hear everything the other resident is saying or doing next door. My experience was that at 4am, a couple came in the next room. We could hear them like they were in the same room...which confused me at first. I thought they were standing outside our door in the hallway. However, then the started having ..... very dramatically and with a lot of name calling and moaning. We could hear every moan, slap, and embarrassing role play. They at first blasted their music, but we could still hear them. I called the main office and reported what I heard (which the couple could hear since every word we spoke could be heard on the other side of the door). They turned down their music, but still kept up their ...ing. I was grateful I did not have my daughter with me. The front desk did ask me when I called a second time if I wanted a new room, but at this point it was only two hours before checkout and that seemed pointless. We were not granted a refund because we booked through a third part. The couple was charged 50 dollars, but it could not be given to me, according to the manager, unless I got my third party to agree to that. There was not way to request that, so I lost 200 dollars for the most awkward and disgusting experience ever. And there were only two towels in the bathroom, no hot water (as there was in the other room we stayed at last time we were there). No free breakfast, no coffee in the lobby, and NO ICE. There was only one working ice machine and it was on the first floor. Definitely never staying there again. No other hotel I have ever been in would not have given me a refund for such a terrible experience. I forgot to mention that while we were still in bed, housekeeping just walked into our room...at 9am, two hours before checkout after a sleepless night. My boyfriend luckily called out for her to go away before she came completely...
