My last experience at this location was not so great. I was there to purchase some very specific decor for my dining room table. I found a few things but I was really hoping to buy either rope or burlap napkin rings. I wasn't sure exactly where to look so I asked an employee. He informed me that there wasn't a specific section for napkin rings, but that I might be able to find them in the seasonal section. On my way to the seasonal section, in one of the displays in the middle of the aisle, I noticed a single napkin ring made from rope near some of the coastal decor. I didn't see any others, or anything like it so I took it with me to see if the cashier would be able to scan it and see if there were any more in the store, or if they could order more for me, as I have done several times in the past with items that have been low or out of stock. When I asked, the cashier just told me that all the items were out in the sections where they belonged. Didn't scan it or ask someone or anything. I told him I wasn't sure that the napkin ring had been found in the correct location, that maybe it had been set down by mistake because someone had changed their mind about buying it, and to please check. He just repeated himself. So I asked if he could order more. He said he could not order seasonal items. I told him I didn't find it in the seasonal section, nor were there any indications that it was a seasonal item. Another employee overheard our conversation and asked if she could help. I repeated my requests. She then called yet another employee over claiming he was from the seasonal department and without even looking at the item I wanted, said that they could not order seasonal items. I just left at that point. I have ordered items from this store a few times and never had this much trouble. I couldn't even get someone to check and see if it was, indeed, a seasonal item. It was pretty clear the employees were either too lazy to check or, like so many other stores now, just oblivious to the stock in their own store. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this place and I could stay in here all day. I love just looking at the decor and browsing through the crafting aisles. My only issue with this place is that the cashiers are responsible for ringing in the discounts. So if something is on sale when they ring it, it doesn't actually go to the sale price automatically... The cashiers have to remember what is on sale and for how much of a percentage off or whatever and then they have to type that into the computer. It's really old school. There are so many times that I go in there and they only mark off one thing that was on sale and not all the others. Yet somehow I always forget to check my receipt while I'm at the store and don't notice until I get home. I think a lot of people know that this happens though and even though it's frustrating they still have decent prices on most items... So sometimes I don't even bother going back to have the price adjusted. It's just not worth it.
Side note: I never buy the wall decor unless it's on sale. Be smart and wait until it's 50% off. It happens every couple of weeks and it's always like that for Black Friday too. In my opinion when it's not on sale... It's a little overpriced. But that's just talking about the wall decor. Everything else is reasonable even when it's not on sale. They also have a few clearance isles that have a decent selection of decor items in them.
For crafters... They have a great selection for pretty much any craft project. I have a Cricut and I usually go for the Hobby Lobby brand instead of the Cricut brand because it's cheaper and it holds up well. The adhesive mats are not the best but they're not terrible. And they have a ton of blank items to get creative with. They have blank pillows, aprons, bags, shirts, cups, wood... They...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve had numerous problems with hobby lobby, and this location has a problem with managers calling for cashiers constantly but never helping out with checking out a few people like most retailers do.
I also had a previous review that is seemingly gone talking about this, took 25 minutes to get checked out because the manager had called for one person repeatedly, this happened last September I believe? I was also followed during this visit and it made me put back the other items I had because I felt like I was being accused of stealing.
My other gripe is the AI generated paintings and designs on some of their jewelry charms. Are we seriously selling artists AI generated items?? In a craft store?? AI has no place in any space let alone a CRAFT STORE FOR ARTISTS. It was so upsetting to see a charm with very obvious AI art on it. Do better, support artists.
Another, hand typing every single item is probably why your check out lanes take so long at any hobby lobby you go too, this is one of the only major retailers Iāve been too that HAND TYPES item codes, and also have to manually enter discounts, many times Iāve gotten home and realized they didnāt notice the items I got were on sale.
I probably will not be returning again, itās dissapointing hobby lobby has resorted to AI art and holds onto outdated check out procedures while...
