Title: Exceptional Pizza Experience at Antico Pizza at the Battery
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Antico Pizza at the Battery in Georgia, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. This establishment truly deserves its five-star rating for its exceptional food, service, and ambiance.
First and foremost, the pizza at Antico is simply divine. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings are fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. I tried their Margherita pizza, and it was a true masterpiece. The combination of the tangy tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil created a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving for more. Each bite was a delight, and I couldn't help but savor every mouthful.
The service at Antico Pizza is top-notch. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and provided excellent recommendations. Despite the restaurant being busy, my order was promptly taken, and the food arrived at my table in a timely manner. The staff's genuine passion for their craft was evident, and it added to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
The ambiance at Antico Pizza is warm, inviting, and authentically Italian. The open kitchen concept allows guests to witness the skilled pizzaiolos tossing and baking the pizzas in the traditional wood-fired oven. The rustic decor, combined with the aroma of freshly baked pizza, creates an atmosphere that transports you straight to Italy. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or a significant other, Antico Pizza provides a cozy and intimate setting that enhances the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Antico Pizza at the Battery in Georgia is a must-visit for any pizza lover. The exceptional quality of their pizzas, combined with the outstanding service and inviting ambiance, make it a five-star establishment. I highly recommend trying their mouthwatering Margherita pizza, but I have no doubt that any pizza on their menu will leave you satisfied. Antico Pizza truly sets the bar high for pizza places, and I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable...
Read moreKnow what you're getting yourself into and you'll be fine. This is not a "fancy" pizza place. It's family style seating and you may be at a long table with strangers. Pizza is served on trays and you get a roll of paper towels to serve as both napkins and plates. Condiments? There's a buffet of fresh minced garlic, pepper flakes, dipping oils, and other toppings that you can put in little cups to bring to your table. Do it yourself ease! There is no table service and don't try to do a phone order. Any of the reviews that knock this place for being what it is.... rude. You rate something on what it IS, not what you think it SHOULD be.
The pizza itself takes less than 10 minutes to prep and cook (more like 5) and the only wait times are from volume and number of orders in front of you. Even on baseball nights it's easy to get in and out with a to-go order in 15 minutes and that with only ordering once I arrive. I don't understand why the complaints of not doing phone orders. It takes less time to place the order in person here and receive pizza than for many places where you'd stand in line for that long just to pay and pick up.
The menu is in Italian up on the board, but ask the counter for a menu in english and they have one laminated they can hand you. Use caution with the Diavola pizza. It is HOT. I enjoy some spice but it's overpowering despite how delicious it is.
I've never had a bad pizza from this place and will eat here 3-4 times a month and often twice a week. Counter staff is always pleasant and efficient. They speak up and never give attitude and almost always a smile....
Read moreI have to start by saying that the Pizza is excellent. It tastes great. The crust is crispy. The sauce is delicious. The staff are generally very nice and it's a nice space.
However I have two beefs here that leave a somewhat bad impression with me. First, the prices on the menu are in both Euros and Dollars. Ok so maybe it's a cool European vibe to put the prices in Euros but no one (NO ONE) is actually going to pay in Euros so it's purely aesthetic. But the Euros come first on the menu so it makes the prices look a few dollars cheaper than they are. That's not cool. Second, they list out all of the major ingredients on every pizza and don't allow any substitutions, additions or subtractions. That's fine. But for some reason they don't list cheese on the vegetarian pizza, where they list it on all the other pizzas. (To be clear most of the pizzas have Buffalo Mozarella and that is listed by each one. Buffalo Mozarella comes in little clumps. The Verde pizza doesn't list cheese at all but instead has a base of melted cheese all over it.) So my lunch partner ordered that one specifically because it didn't have cheese. Low and behold it's basically the cheesiest of all. Sure we should have asked, but they make such a big deal about being sticklers that this see a bit of an oversight.
These might seem like little things and I am generally super easy going, but they left a bad taste (no pun...
