READ FULL REVIEW Checked in around 8:30 pm, it was supposed to be a nice stop in before camping. Here's just preliminary walkthrough stuff that I know isn't really important, just sets the vibe. Room 110. Multiple areas of unpainted and patched walls. Mold in bathroom on right corner when looking at mirror.
There is no sound proofing, at least in our room. I could hear everything above and in the hallway. We've staying in better and worse places, I've never experienced the noise I did here.
Main issues... At around 11:30 we were already asleep. The front desk gave keys to other people for our room. Luckily, we had bolted and put the safety lock on. Got up worried and yelled at them through door. Had to take the dog (golden retriever) out after that because the shock of having someone try to enter your room, he needed out. The people at my peephole were trying to figure their situation out at the desk, fun.
12:18 The front desk lady is pounding at our door after we just got back to sleep, threatening to open the door. We jump out of bed, throw on clothes, and have a confrontation with what we thought was a guest and the desk attendant because the person we thought was a guest was wearing pajamas. Turns out, the pajama girl was an employee(tie in later). They wanted ID and to know who we were. Unreal.
I'm watching them through the peephole at this point because they never left the area in front of our door.. Room 107 across from us. They do the same thing. They open the door of 107, not sure if anyone was there or not, but they got into that room and were out quick. I hope there was no one there.
12:58 Finally back to bed. Oh wait, fire alarm pulled. This isn't really the hotels fault, but adding on top of not being able to sleep because of the hotel's incompetence, maybe it's a pattern here.
6:00 The hotel alarm clock was set at this time. I'm trying to be understanding, but I've stayed at 100+ hotels in my life and they always turn the alarm off and I've never checked before hand. I've never thought to check. Just the cherry on top of a horrible night at La Quinta.. GF takes dog out shortly after alarm, guess who's managing the desk at that point.... Pajama girl.
We tried to get more sleep, but it was impossible. The "general manager" office door was 2 doors down from our. We could hear them talking during the shift change loudly for about 15 minutes.
The night attendant told us there would be a manager back in the morning to talk to. The morning attendant on a Saturday told us a manager wouldn't be back until Monday.
La Quinta how to win at business, just ensure your guests...
Read moreISAAC the liar. Worse experience ever. He gave my reservation to someone else, just because, then ISAAC says he isn't responsible, then, fake calls the other nearby La Quinta hotel, and lies to me that they have rooms available to just go and "he will transfer my information to them." so I'll get a room over there.
I have a newborn crying in the car because he is tired, we are exhausted from the long drive, and now we're stuck with no hotel room because they gave out our room to someone else, even though we had reserved it 4 days before.
My gut tells me ISAAC was lying, I get in the car and call the same hotel he called, instantly get an answer from the customer service at that other hotel and they say they are fully booked, NO ROOM AVAILABLE. ISAAC lied to me, he just told me they had rooms available, to just drive over there.
I go back inside the office and ask ISAAC, who he spoked to, and why he lied to me. He said, "I don't remember the name" and "stop accusing me of lying to you". I said, call again and get the person to answer and tell you there's rooms available. He couldn't get anyone to answer, because they never did, but he lied to me, to waste time and gas, driving to the other hotel 20 minutes away, to get there and be told there isn't any rooms.
My newborn keeps crying because he is hungry, needs a change, we're exhausted, and now we're calling to find a room, on a weekend.
Finally, we find the only available hotel within 45 minute drive.. Now we're FORCED to pay high weekend rates, totalling almost $300 for a queen size bed, for 1 night.
IMAGINE hearing your baby cry for 45 minutes straight because he is hungry and tired, but he is stuck in a car seat, because the hotel room we booked in advanced at LA Quinta Visalia, gave our room to someone else.
ISAAC was no help, kept telling me he wasn't responsible for what happened, that there was no manager, he was the only one working there. Kept saying there was nothing he can do, but did lie to me about the other LA Quinta, having rooms available.
I will be posting a complaint with the BBB, this was uncalled for, cause my baby a...

Hotel service was not friendly or helpful.
i asked if they had an herbal tea as my boyfriend had stomach issues that night and needed something warm (chamomile, peppermint tea, anything soothing) but they had nothing available other than coffee.
The worst nightmare though was the lack of sleep. The walls seemed made of cardboard, you can hear EVERYTHING that happens around your room. The hotel alarm went on at night (seems something that happens quite often reading other reviews…).
We had the most rude neighbours who kept the tv volume super loud until late. So around 12:10am, after knocking on their door asking to keep it down, I called the hotel reception begging them to do something about it. The guy on the phone said he was going to call them straight away and ask them to stop making noise.
Well, annoyingly it never happened. The couple next door kept laughing out loud and watching TV for a further hour (we never heard the phone ringing or anything remotely sounding like a phone call) until my boyfriend got up knocking on their wall again and I yelled to stop making all that noise.
This has worked, until 6am, when they woke up and started watching the news. What a nightmare! The rooms should be properly soundproofed and the hotel management should be better at handling guests complaints. If there’s guests partying or making that noise, you should intervene!
Also found some hair in the bathroom that didn’t belong to us and bathroom mirror was dirty. Carpet in the room felt sticky.
Would...
