Well,... things started out great... Front desk lady, Jasmine, was amazing. We were a digital check in but she made sure we had key cards for the lights (never seen this b4) yes you need a key to turn on the lights and the key has to stay there. She was even nice enough to give all 3 kids a bag of chips. We had a late arrival and the kids really enjoyed that. She was very thorough with a lot of things. And nice. Front desk staff usually most of them look like they have an attitude especially late at night. Not Jasmine. I hope she keeps that. Customer service is not like it use to be anywhere.
Anyway. Things went downhill from there. Got to our 2 queen bed suite table looks as if someone was eating at the legs... couch is NOT comfortable. It's sinking in like quick sand. Bed were way too soft. And were more like doubles than queens. Everyone used the bathroom from a long drive and went to bed. (Family of 5. Two females 3 males) woke up the next day to use the bathroom (me-mom) and NO TISSUE) I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER. ran out of tissue in a bathroom at a hotel EVER lol. so there was little tissue on the roll once we got there dad must have gotten up for his work meeting used the bathroom #2 and as men are. He didn't notice he used the last. But then. Mom got up to use the bathroom and no extra roll in the bathroom. I had to wait for Ms. Jasmine who was so polite to bring tissue to our room. Fast forward 2 days. We wanted to grill. ( The reason we chose this place was pool and outdoor area & how it looked on photos.) Nope. Deception. One grill was broken. And tools are not kept at front desk. They are THROWN up under the grills. Dirty & nasty as ever. Not in a tool bag or anything. I felt like we stayed at a motel 6. The upkeep was not well AT ALL. firepit didn't work, which was another reason we chose this place. ... but. From our experience, we turned it on and smelled gas. So looks like they need a new igniter switch or whatever. We had to go to the store and get a lighter and wallah firepit worked for us.... Just had to risk burning our hands to use it, lol. I kept seeing the pool doors open. I figured, OH. Must have just redid chemicals in the pool, and it needs to air out a little. Upon our last night, we used the pool. Everything seemed normal. Until I saw ALL the color leave from my FAVORITE BRIGHT NEON PINK swimsuit. I told the kids, "Let's get out something is not right." I then noticed that my two Pandora bracelets were BLACK! I went to the front desk and asked what is in the pool. Jasmine told me chlorine, which I never smelled chlorine. I told her there has to be something else in there. My swimsuit and bracelets has been ruined. She didn't know. After getting to my room she called and said it's a salt water pool. I told her there has to be something more. We swim in oceans just left cancun last week and my swimsuit and jewelery weren't ruined. And of course I took my favorite swimsuit to Cancun. So...something is not right with their pool. Too much or too little of something but the chemical makeup of the pool is OFF. I hope Pandora can fix my bracelets. I have over $2000 in charms on both plus the sentimental value of each. OH and my Pandora thumb ring. Black! Something took off or deposited something that's not normal. Also, got a noise complaint as we all sit down watching TV and kids play on their tablets. Only for 30-1 hr later guy comes back to say oops my bad. Actually it wasn't yall. Smh.... OH! let's not forget we NEVER Got housekeeping to clean room. 4 nights there. Someone came to redo beds and a very minimal QUICK clean of shower. That's because I complained not because they routinely came as said on mirrors every other day. The front desk is overworked. Didn't get a clean bed until 3 days in. That's it. And the story gets longer. Moral of story. Will never stay here again. Very low standard for Homewood suites and we paid $222/ night average. For 4 nights. Lol. Never again. MY heart and pockets are broken. I only HOPE and pray my jewlery can be revived. 8yrs worth of...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I just concluded a three month stay here while our house was being repaired due to flooding damage. We were very anxious to be without a reliable place to stay, and we chose this hotel from out of 8 different options presented to us by our insurance agency and I am SO HAPPY we decided to stay at this Homewood Suites. It really was a second home to us, and we were a little bit sad to leave.
We stayed in a studio suite with a King bed and a kitchenette, and it was perfect for our needs. The rooms were well-insulated from noise, there was a basketball court to play on in nice weather, the fitness center was open 24/7, the breakfast was well-stocked and with pretty diverse options as far as a free breakfast goes, though I would have liked to have a few more options for fresh fruit and vegetables. There was a fresh fruit bowl that was always full of delicious oranges, apples, and bananas, which was amazing. There is a wal-mart within walking distance as well.
The best part about this hotel was the staff. They were extremely personable, professional, and were more than happy to help with anything we needed.
Ariel Smith was exceptional. We had one issue during the first month of our stay getting housekeeping scheduled on the same day, and after talking to some other people at the front desk, the issue had not been resolved in a couple days, and we were feeling a bit helpless. When we first ran in to Ariel and explained our issue, she immediately went to go get us all the ammenities/ clean towels that we had been missing, and housekeeping showed up the very next day, and then consistently after that. She fixed our week-long problem in one night, and I was soooo grateful to her. She also has an incredible memory, as she would ask me about my busy work days and life events after just one mention. She did the same for my boyfriend. It really made us feel important and seen, and she did that for every guest, no matter how long they were staying. She really made me feel at home and cared about, and went above and beyond her duties for all of us. I have seldom encountered anyone so good at what they do, and so ready to do more.
Other employees that were very helpful during our stay were Lamis, the head of housekeeping, and Fran at the front desk. Lamis would always make sure that we had plenty of dishwashing detergent and liquid dish soap, and she cleaned the rooms with amazing speed and precision, like she had it down to a science. I imagine she did that so that she could help as many people as possible in one day, and if ever I saw that she was the housekeeper that day, I knew that everything would be stocked up, spotless, and it would take hardly any time at all. She was also always so friendly when we would see her in the halls. Fran was very kind and on more than one occasion, she would produce any amenities we were short on, even if she had to go and hunt them down in other storage rooms. I am so grateful to all of these women for making wat could have been a really difficult time really rather enjoyable.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay! The only feedback I would offer would be more fresh vegetables for breakfast (I loved the ones at evening reception!), and maybe more attention paid to keeping the pool clean, as it was always a bit cloudy, so I did not spend very much time in it, but other young guests seemed to enjoy it just fine. Thanks...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Horrible customer service and inconsistency and communication among staff. Do not book here for any kind of wedding stay, it will be ruined.
I booked one king room and one double queen room back in April of this year and checked in this past Friday for my wedding weekend. Two days before check in (Wednesday) I was called by a male staff at the hotel and stated that they over booked on the double queen rooms and would provide me three single king rooms due to the inconvenience at no extra charge. Upon checking in Friday night, staff Mia stated I did not pay for and would have to pay for the third room even though I was told verbally on the phone on Wednesday that I would not have to due to their overbooking. I was disappointed, but agreed to only having two single king rooms due to my original booking only having two rooms anyway even though the actual booking I had made in April provided more beds.
Upon reviewing further stay information, both single king rooms were only booked for one night even though my original booking had one room for two nights which was canceled due to the overbooking.
I went back to the front desk and spoke with Mia again to explain I had one room for two nights in my initial reservation (again, that had to be cancelled due to their overbooking of double queen rooms) and Mia agreed to add another nights stay at no extra charge.
Upon arriving back to the hotel after my wedding reception, my digital key did not work at my door and the app recommended to recheck in with the front desk. Luckily I was able to use the physical card keys Mia had provided the day before and get into my room. Shortly after I was contacted by the front desk and stated I had yet to pay for the night (After Mia stated the day before she had override the booking to give us another day at no extra charge as that was the initial reservation back in April that had to be cancelled on their end due to overbooking).
I went back to the front desk, explained the above situation to night time staff Yousef and Yaseem, and they stated Mia had no such authorization to do any override and that we would have to pay for another nights stay. We then asked to speak to a manager and they stated he was sleeping. After confirming with night time staff that we would be not be charged another nights stay if we were to leave at that moment, we did. I did not want to hear any more false arrangements or excuses or deal with the ongoing inconsistency of communication and service.
I have spoken to a total of four employees prior (one dayshift, three nightshift) and during my stay and nobody makes notes in the reservations or wants to accommodate you even though they’re the ones that overbooked and had to cancel. I don’t know why one staff tells you one thing and you think you’re all set and assured, and then it’s not communicated to the next employee or shift and they’re trying to charge you for their lack of communication, accommodation, and employee authorization. I’m highly disappointed by this place and I won’t be back. The whole (shortened stay) was a huge inconvenience to myself and my...
