I recently visited Middle Eats and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was absolutely delicious and well-seasoned, showcasing a great culinary effort. The establishment was clean overall, which added to the pleasant dining atmosphere.
Shelby, in particular, was amazing. She was extremely helpful, hardworking, and managed to maintain a positive attitude despite the busy lunch rush. Most of the staff were also diligent and courteous, even though they seemed quite overwhelmed during peak hours.
However, the experience was marred by the behavior of the manager. During my visit, the manager was yelling at the staff in front of customers, making unreasonable and unrealistic demands. This created an embarrassing and uncomfortable environment for both the staff and the customers, whether dining in or waiting for takeout.
Additionally, there were some operational issues. The restaurant did not have peanut butter, which meant I couldn't get the smoothie I wanted. There was also no ice machine, and the drink machine was unplugged. When I tried to inquire about the unplugged machine, I was ignored, leaving me unsure if my drink was safe to consume. Shelby later explained that the Kool-Aid machine and smoothie machine couldn't be plugged in simultaneously without causing a short circuit. Unfortunately, Roger was quite rude during this interaction.
In summary, while the food and cleanliness were commendable and Shelby's assistance was outstanding, the overall experience was negatively impacted by poor management behavior and some operational inefficiencies. Middle Eats has the potential to be a great dining spot if these issues...
Read moreTo Whom It May Concern,
Last night, I visited the Warren location of your establishment. My interaction with the gentleman at the counter began uneventfully, as I was simply there to collect my order. However, as I concluded the transaction, the employee felt it appropriate to say, “You look like Whoopi Goldberg.”
To say I was taken aback would be an understatement. The comment was not only entirely unsolicited but also perplexingly off-base, as I bear no resemblance to Ms. Goldberg—or, frankly, to any celebrity. When he noticed the visible discomfort on my face, he attempted to deflect the awkwardness by adding, “Oh, I thought that was a compliment.”
Unfortunately, that clarification only deepened my discomfort. What started as a routine visit turned into an unnecessarily uncomfortable and frankly inappropriate exchange. While I understand cultural differences exist, being a Black American patronized by individuals of Middle Eastern descent does not justify engaging in reductive stereotypes, such as the tired and offensive implication that “all Black people look alike.”
Comments of that nature reflect a lack of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and basic human courtesy. It’s disappointing that in 2025, this still needs to be said.
As such, I will no longer be supporting or patronizing any Middle Eats franchise moving forward. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter—I sincerely hope it leads to a moment of reflection and a much-needed conversation about training, awareness,...
Read moreI tried Middle Eats for the first time today and was very excited due to all the promising video reviews. I ordered the Trifecta bowl, and after a quick glance in my bag, I returned home with my meal. The venue was clean, well lit, and not busy at all. The meat is well seasoned, and the dilio sauce is really good, but unfortunately, my order was made completely wrong. I was essentially given a meat and rice bowl. I ordered the bowl with no pickles and no hummus. While they got this part right, they failed to put any of the remaining veggies in my bowl. There was no lettuce, onion or tomato. I also requested my sauce on the side, as I wasn't sure if I would like the dilio sauce, but my bowl came with sauce already inside. I spent $26 + tip on a bowl I couldn't eat because I couldn't stomach all the meat and rice without the veggies to compliment the meal. I am pretty disappointed because the potential was there. Veggies are an integral part of the meal and come in every bowl on the menu, so I am very confused about how this was missed. I may order again, but honestly this tainted my experience.
ETA: Wanted to try them again today, 6/13, and their website will not process my order. I won't be...
