Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food – A Flavorful Trip Down Memory Lane

We tried several items at Tuk Tuk and were thoroughly impressed! The Cheese Chilli Dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa were both outstanding, with flavorful fillings and perfectly crisped dosa. The sambhar was delicious and well-balanced.

The Aloo Paneer Paratha was generously stuffed and tasted great. We also loved the Dahi Puri and Dabeli – both packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. The Pav Bhaji was rich, buttery, and truly reminded us of street food back in India. And the Chole Bhature? Absolutely spot on.

It would have been even better if they served some green chili and onions with the paratha, but honestly, the overall quality and taste made up for it.

The restaurant was bustling with constant activity, but service was quick and efficient. While the $1 charge for onion or yogurt with paratha felt a bit unnecessary, the prices overall are very reasonable compared to other spots in the area.

If you’re in the Chicago area and craving authentic Indian street food, I’d definitely recommend giving Tuk Tuk a try. Great flavors, clean environment, and a satisfying...

We were impressed with this place. First time. We ordered more food than we can eat and only spent $55 total. Interesting menu but also huge and with a good variety. Small place with basic seating. Food came out quick.

Keema (lamb) wrap - amazing! High recommend. The wrap is a thick, soft consistency almost like pita bread. Meat is seasoned so well.

Chicken tikka wrap. Delicious! Chunks of chicken, seasoned well. Veggies on top. This feels more like a taco than a traditional wrap.

We also got a dosa but our standards when it comes to dosas are high and so it was fairly standard.

Also got a paratha with chicken and cheese inside and that was huge! Great taste too. Had some dipping sauce - we should have asked for more. This had a thick bread consistency that you tear apart and it is filled with the goods.

Lastly, we got a mango lasssi and it was a delicious drink. Exactly what you would hope if you’ve ever had one of these before.

We are so glad that Chicago has a place like this. There’s a lot of creativity with this menu and the execution is perfect. Will be going back...

I was recommended Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food, and honestly, it did not disappoint! The prices were pretty solid, especially for a city-style restaurant, and the food was so good. We tried a bunch of different things—veggie spring rolls, dosa, paneer burji wrap, veggie sandwich, gulab jamun, mango lassi—and honestly, everything was delicious. Like, I’d order all of it again.

My top favorites were definitely the mango lassi, gulab jamun, spring rolls, dosa, and the veggie uttapam. Everything was super flavorful and tasted so fresh. Some of the dishes had a bit of a kick, so if you like spicy food, you’ll definitely enjoy it here.

The atmosphere is very casual, with around 6-7 tables inside. It’s bright, colorful, and has a fun vibe. You order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. The service was good—nothing over the top, but everything came out fresh and in a timely manner.

If you’re craving Indian street food, I’d highly recommend checking this place out. Great flavors, fresh food, and a chill...

I've been curious about this place for a while, I love Indian food and they have such a range of street food offerings, items I've been wanting to try! We will definitely be back, everything we had was delicious, hot and freshly made. The restaurant itself was small, bright, clean and cozy. Not a bad place for a lunch date, many people came in for pick up orders but we decided to sit and dine in. Samosas are generously sized and you get two per order, same for the paratha. Sauces were flavorful and added the necessary touch. My husband had the chicken Tikka roll wrap, it's small but yummy. I had the chicken chatpata sandwich and it was huge - three slices of bread and sprinkled with cheese on top. It was delicious! Next time we will try the dosa menu or one of the chaat options. So much to choose from!

No frills, counter service establishment for authentic Indian street food. The mysore dosa had a nice toasty flavor with a good subtle tang though it was overly crispy in some spots. The mysore paste was decent: mildly spicy and garlicky. The potato filling was tasty but had an unnatural shade of red potentially from food coloring. The sambar was flavorful and the usage of drumstick/moringa was an impressive authentic element. However, it leaned a bit oily and could’ve used more tang. The coconut chutney had a pleasant kick of spice but the strong taste of rancid oil really threw it off. Samosa chaat was fantastic with the most hearty, delicious chole and generous toppings. The curries here were mediocre. Come for the street food and you wouldn't be disappointed.
