We had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant, which was supposed to be a special evening celebrating our anniversary. Having dined here before, we expected a great experience, but what we encountered was the worst service we've ever experienced.
We had an 8:30 PM reservation and checked in with the hostess upon arrival. She informed us that there were a couple of tables ahead of us, so we waited by the bar, expecting to be seated shortly. However, we waited for over 45 minutes, watching numerous parties who arrived well after us being seated before us.
Concerned, I approached the host stand again, where a man (possibly a manager) reiterated that there were still tables ahead of us. Ten minutes later, the same hostess (a seemingly young Black woman) who had checked us in approached a couple who had arrived at least 25 minutes after us and offered them a table before speaking to us. When she finally addressed us, she didn’t confirm our name first, then immediately stated that there wouldn’t be an available table anytime soon. Our only options, she said, were to either leave or take a table on the patio—despite the fact that we had specifically requested indoor seating when we confirmed earlier in the day.
When I tried to explain this, she became visibly agitated and began using excessive hand gestures, to the point of being intimidating—something we had not seen her do with any other customers. Then, out of nowhere, she made an inappropriate remark, stating that even the “White people” were upset about the wait. Race was never mentioned in our conversation, so we were completely taken aback. Despite our calm demeanor, she continued insisting that if we were upset, we should speak to a manager. We reiterated that we were not upset, just seeking clarification.
Disturbed by this, we returned to the host stand to get further explanation about her comment. I stated that I had no interest in any racial implications, as we simply expected fair treatment. Realizing she had been caught in a problematic statement, she backtracked and denied making any racial distinctions. At that moment, another hostess announced that a table had suddenly become available.
By then, we were deeply uncomfortable and no longer felt welcome at this restaurant. We left and drove 40 minutes back home to Boca Raton, where we dined at Capital Grille instead.
Having dined at some of the world’s top restaurants—including Michelin-starred Le Bernardin in NYC and acclaimed establishments in Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, Helsinki, Melbourne (Australia), and beyond—we have never been treated with such disregard.
Frankly, this experience raises serious concerns. Either this restaurant discriminates against Black customers, or there is some form of bribery happening at the host stand, where certain guests are given priority. If it’s the latter, the male host may be complicit as well.
Regardless, we will never return to this establishment, and I strongly urge management to investigate and address these...
Read moreAfter being at Table 26 a week ago and having a very nice dinner with friends, we decided to introduce other friends from Palm Beach to what we thought would be a new and lovely Restauant for them. To our dismay it was one of our worst dining experiences. Here’s why!!! We arrived at 6:00 P.M. for our 6:15 reservation. The hostess was charming and seated us on the outside porch as requested. A cold spell hit Fl tonight but we would deal since there were no other tables. Downhill from there. Our waitress, Shelly started out ok but paid no attention to our table. We ordered their Table 26 Signature hamburgers and not only were all of them overcooked, dried out and took till 7:40 to be served. Our waitress never once came to our table to explain the delay or apologize or anything. After complaining a few times I finally spoke to one of the managers who could not have been less professional. That was Austin! All of us had plates full of food that was over cooked and dried out. Austin said he would discount our bill since each of us ate a portion of our food.why did we eat any of it? Maybe because we were hungry and had waited 11/2 hrs for our food. I went back to find him and he proceeded to tell me there would not be a bill for our dinners and to leave immediately. He sent two waiters to our table to clear off everything immediately and for us to leave. Rather unprofessional behavior! This is what kills a successful restaurant! We left and here is the real kicker. Our friends drive a Tesla. The girl car attendant went to get their car. When our friends asked where the was? It was not in the well, she became quite frustrated and told them she had given them the key. She had not. The key was found 10 to 15 minutes later. By her, on the passenger side floor. No apologies, annoyance and Added just a bit more distaste for Table 26. One star is for the hostess who seated us and her most pleasant manners…. Otherwise a zero! Hugely disappointing as we were looking forward to a great evening. The help here needs training if you want to succeed! And your food tonight made...

Ahhh, Table 26 – where the ambiance whispers elegance, but the service screams, “I forgot why I’m here.” 🥂
🪑 THE SETTING: Let’s start with the decor: the place looks like it was designed by a retired cruise ship captain who binge-watched HGTV during a hurricane. White tablecloths, mood lighting, and a piano that may or may not be haunted. 👻🎹✨ I sat down expecting Sinatra and seared scallops… Instead I got slow jazz, a sticky menu, and disappointment in three courses.
🧍 SERVICE: Have you ever been ghosted in real life… by a waiter? Because I have now. 👻🍷 Our server had the enthusiasm of a DMV printer and the memory of a goldfish. He forgot our appetizer, our drinks, AND somehow… his own job description. I think I aged three years waiting for water. 💦⌛
🥩 THE FOOD: “Farm to Table”? More like Farm to Confusion to Deep Freeze to Microwave to Regret. The “signature short rib” tasted like it had a restraining order against seasoning. And the mashed potatoes? Let’s just say… they were giving “emotional support paste.” 🥔😐 Everything was lukewarm, like the chef and my ex have the same “commitment issues.”
💰 THE PRICES: You’d think for $42 a plate I was investing in a small business or adopting a flamingo. But no. I paid luxury yacht prices for what felt like a sad Tuesday at a corporate buffet. ⛵😩
🧼 THE CLEANLINESS: Let’s just say my fork was extra seasoned. Might’ve been garlic… might’ve been last week’s lobster bisque. Who can tell? 🦞🔍
🚨 THE VIBE: You know when a place tries so hard to be upscale that it forgets to be good? That’s Table 26. It’s giving “Palm Beach pretension” with a strong undertone of “we peaked in 2017.”
📉 FINAL VERDICT: Came in hungry. Left spiritually broken, financially wounded, and emotionally betrayed by a limp Brussels sprout. If mediocrity wore linen pants and charged you $85 for a martini, this would be it. 🍸😑
1 star. Because it looked like it might be a good idea. Just like parachute pants. Or...
