Extremely cheap stay, but you get what you pay for.
The one positive was the front desk staff. I must say they were consummate professionals and did and excellent job. When we first arrived they gave us a thorough explanation of everything nearby surrounding the hotel, from shopping, bars, attractions, and restaurants. Very welcoming, very well spoken, which led me to believe we'd have a good stay there... that was the positive, everything went downhill from there.
My wife and I traveled here from Michigan to meet our friends from Georgia who were in town visiting their parents. The best way to describe this hotel is poor, If poor was a hotel... It would be this place. This place is in need of a remodel, the hotel itself was disgustingly dirty, and rundown... the rooms included. The hotel has stain laden wallpaper that has been up been up decades for sure. Right outside of our room there was a wallpaper corner guard that had fallen off the wall, was just laying in the middle of the hallway... This stayed in the middle of the hallway for our entire 3 day stay. Housekeeping walked over and around this 8 ft long piece of plastic trim the entire weekend. Nobody made a report to maintenance, they didn't try to pick it up... Just screw it.
Our room was gross, disgusting, dirty, and rundown like the rest of the hotel. The bathroom sink sits on a wood platform of sorts, 4 legs, with a wooden platform underneath. That wood was water damaged to death. The wood was splitting, warped, and deteriorating. The drain stop to the tub was sitting on the back of the toilet, so if you wanted to take a bath in this room you wouldn't be able to. The carpet in the room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned in over year. It was covered in lint balls and carpet divits. There's a desk with a leather chair in the room, our leather chair has a glob of dried sauce of sort on it, as did the legs of the desk, the carpet under the desk, and the dresser drawers. We're watching TV, and the dresser is covered with dried pizza sauce splattered all over it. Day 2, I was sitting at the desk with a towel I slid my foot back on the carpet underneath and my sock snatched off. I looked down and there was a large dried up stain from some sort of food. Was it pasta, soup, vomit??? IDK, I just know it was disgusting. The mattress was raggedy and uncomfortable. It had lumps, and the right side of the bed was curling up like Aladdin's shoes. The mattress was incapable of lying flat. It wasn't a nice sized mattress on a box spring like you'd expect at a hotel, It was the type of bed/ mattress that would folds out of a couch or that you'd see on a cruise ship, thin tough and sitting on a metal rack. The bed just felt uncomfortable and raggedy which made for terrible sleep. Then there were wall stains, wall paper or not, these were the dirtiest walls I have ever seen in a hotel or motel. In fact this was a hotel that gave motel vibes.
Housekeeping practices were also very strange to me. Housekeeping would leave the bedding to cleaned rooms on the floor just outside the room and leave them there for HOURS. We left our room at 1:30 to go to lunch in Cleveland. Bedding was all over the hallways... We get back around 6pm, the rooms on our wing of the hall still had bedding outside the doors. Hilariously, there was bedding left in that wall trim that was laying in the hall. When they did get the bedding up... they left that 8ft long piece of plastic trim laying in the hall for another day. I just can't stree enough how ridiculous that was. They literally worked around and over that damaged piece of the property for 3 whole day. All the dirty sheets and towels sat in the hall for 5 hours. There was also random smelly spots around the hotel. You be walking down the halls, and you'd just get a whiff of sewage or old mop water.
This hotel needs to invest in a remodel and deep clean. They also need to make some operational changes. Maybe they don't have enough housekeeping, but housekeeping didn't really seem to give a 💩.
Raggedy,...

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Do NOT stay here! Please read until the end.
The rooms were dirty and outdated. The reception staff was rude. The pool was disgusting—slimy, cloudy, and so murky you couldn’t even see the bottom. The overall atmosphere was incredibly sketchy. We were in town for a volleyball tournament and had no choice in selecting this hotel, as it was assigned by the venue. Our team consisted of eight 16–17-year-old girls. While the parents were downstairs at the hotel restaurant, the girls were in their room, listening to music and curling their hair to match for the tournament.
At around 10:00 PM, a man dressed entirely in black, with a hood over his head, began banging aggressively on their door. The girls, understandably terrified, did not open the door and immediately called us. When we arrived, there was no one in sight. We reassured the girls, reminded them to keep the door locked, and told them to turn off the music.
Since it was a tournament weekend, the hotel was full of young athletes, with kids running up and down the halls having fun.
Then things escalated.
As soon as the parents left, the same man returned, pounding on the door again without identifying himself. Parents rushed back and found him walking away. When confronted, he became aggressive, claiming to be hotel security and saying the girls were too loud. We apologized and assured him there would be no further noise.
However, when we went to check on the girls, this so-called "security guard"—still hiding his face under a hood—told us we were not allowed in the room and that he was going in to “deal with” the girls himself. That was an absolute NO from us.
Things only got worse:
He refused to show any ID. The front desk refused to confirm his employment. The hotel had my contact information, yet no one ever called me about any noise complaints. They refused to let us speak to a manager. At this point, we went to the front desk demanding to speak with a manager. The "security guard" continued being confrontational, and frankly, we weren’t even sure if he actually worked there. The situation escalated and the police were called.
When the police arrived, we explained everything, and they confirmed the girls did the right thing by not opening the door. Then, shockingly, the front desk told me I had to leave—without any explanation or a conversation with a manager.
The police officers even told us they were frequently called to this hotel and had heard similar complaints about the so-called "security guard" before. They straight-up said this was not a safe place to stay.
We immediately left and checked into the Hampton Inn on Detroit Road. The difference was night and day—clean, professional, and safe. I highly recommend staying there instead!
Bottom line: If you value safety, cleanliness, and professionalism, stay far away...

I called to reserve a room for 6 days during a non-busy part of the year. The man on the phone said it would cost me roughly $140/night. I informed him that the Red Roof Inn across the street is rated 3.7 stars versus their 2.2 star rating, and that the price they were charging was $110/night, so why stay here? Pay more for less? I was put on hold and given a discount that brought the price to $60/night. Obviously this was appreciated, but how does your pricing go from $140 to $60, over 50% off?
Using the link sent via their email confirmation, I requested a check in at 11 am rather than 3 pm (I believe), costing $55. Upon arrival, the hefty bearded man working the front desk almost looked confused as to what I was doing there? No greeting, no kindness or welcoming attitude, just someone who clearly didn't want to be there and had absolutely zero charisma.
I told him that I was here to check in, as it was 11 am, and before I could even say that I had purchased their early check in, he interrupted me and said they don't do check-ins until 3pm (again, I believe that was the time said). I explained to him that I had paid the $55 for 11 am check-in, to which he told me that nothing was coming up on his end and that I never did that.
He said they could downgrade me to a twin double room that was ready, but I told him I would rather just wait.
Sat in the lobby for about an hour reading reviews and listening to how the front desk spoke to customers, and decided I'd rather cancel my reservation and go elsewhere. Additionally, during this hour, the bearded man slammed his fist on the desk probably 30-40 times, speaking loud and brash to customers.
Upon walking up to the front desk again, he begins with "second time up here?" before I can say a single word. I told him I had cancelled my reservation and wanted to confirm I would receive a refund. Throughout this and every interaction I had, he was extremely rude and unwelcoming to say the least.
If you're in hospitality, your job requires you to be hospitable. Between arguably the worst customer service engagement I've ever had, having to wait 4 extra hours for something I paid for, and reading the reviews (most of which are 1 Star and specifically mention the lack of cleanliness) this was an easy 1 Star experience. I would be SHOCKED if this facility is still running (under the same management anyway) in 1 year.
Lastly, notice how management hasn't responded to a...
