The hotel is great. Nice clean rooms and bathrooms. The front desk staff was excellent. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience at the restaurant. Never again, will I go there. The bartender Sally, (older lady with red hair) was extremely rude. I ordered the blackened salmon. The food had no seasoning. The cauliflower looked burned, the potatoes looked old, the plate looked it had been sitting there all day. The food was just disgusting. I was very polite, when I informed the bartender that I didn’t want it. I literally took a bite out of the salmon and potato. I decided I wasn’t going to eat it and wasn’t going to pay for it. Once I informed her of that, she said that eight people had ordered it for the day and they loved it. I explained to her, regardless of whoever liked it, I didn’t. The food looked gross. Instead of just taking the food back, she tells me that I’m not used to good food. What does that even mean ? I even asked her “If I had done something to her” ? When I paid for my drink that I ordered, (which was good) she slammed the payment book on the bar. Then she started saying something about me leaving a tip, she stopped talking and rolled her eyes. Why would I tip her ? I usually don’t complain about bad service because it’s someone’s lively hood. My first job was a server, I’m very aware on how customers should be treated. Especially at restaurant. But she was beyond disgusting. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the front desk staff and rooms. It would’ve been five but the bartender made my first night at the hotel a horrible experience. I was still hungry after that and went to Chili’s thirteen minutes away in the cold. It’s unfortunate that I had to deal with the...
Read moreMy experience at Doubletree Hotel was painful! My husband and I arrived on January 26 with our cousin. We had driven all the way from Pittsburgh . It was very cold and snowing. We arrived early and had to wait for our rooms to be complete. We asked Ms. Leslie McLain could we wait in the lobby and watch television. She lied and said no, their policy does not allowed more than 2 per family in the lobby. Her boss tried to pacify us with free breakfast for 2 days. Really!! Her name is Karen Cannan, Human Relations Supervisor. No apology. We know why, blatant racism. We are all African Americans. So disturbing that a White woman checking out was allowed to sit in the warm Lobby for two hours , ofcourse I took a picture of the White lady relaxing in the lobby, while all three of us, Seniors weren't permitted the same courtesy as the lady. The HR Manager said that policy doesn't exist. Infact she said, Ms Lezlie McLain is a novice, using the same procedure from the old Hotel she was employed at. Why would they give her that position, and she is incompete? She knew that was a lie. We were profiled and asked to wait. Hilton Hotel shame on you! How can you allowed us to be discriminated at one of your hotels? Breakfast is an insult! So sad, because My husband is an Honor Member for Hilton. Yes , Hilton Hotel, Black Lives Matter! My voice will continue to be heard! Ms. Leslie McLain should apologize, and be demoted, she's insensitive to people of color....
Read moreThis restaurant/bar could be rocking and make a killing if it wasn't for sour Sally the bartender. She is ruining this place. I don't think she could provide worse service if she tried. She needs to find a job at a cemetery at night where no one will see her. She is so miserable and unfriendly and unprofessional. Absolutely terrible at her job. I will not stay at this hotel again as long as she is working there. Once i check in I don't want to leave for dinner and drinks. Get rid of Sally. I wish I could give negative stars - Sally would...
