EDIT: So glad to have clarification on the extra charges, because my husband grabbed ice cream. Totally makes sense. Negative reviews doesn't equate to being unreasonable, so I can absolutely accept that in the response.
HOWEVER.... We asked for someone to come clean these things in the room. Tabitha discovered the bathtub was stained which I originally mentioned, but we were not told it was hair dye. We were told it was a stain. Still didn't change the issue with the filth on the headboard, either. Tabitha did NOT arrange for someone to clean it as we asked but instead pretended to offer two options when she ultimately only gave one. Tabitha did NOT offer the second room and nor did we inspect a second room. We were offered to inspect the one upstairs and that was all. We were NOT informed about the lack of elevators - maybe this was a forgotten step because we started in a first-floor room and there was commotion with finding another option. When she retracted the second option, we had asked to just get a refund and she threatened a refund might not happen because a manager was not on duty. At this point, we already had to go over budget to come to this place and going to another hotel without a proper refund would definitely push our budget further.
A simple apology and some training for her behavior is all I'm looking for. Not excuses.
(ORIGINAL:) Had to come here after another hotel had a bug issue, so instead of purchasing through Expedia for $112, Tabatha said she could get it to $113 after taxes and fees, etc. If it was easier for them and saved them from a third party fee, it was fine with us. So we agreed. Just checked our bank account and we were charged $121.39 .... Sure, not a horrible difference, but considering the rest of the experience, it was worth mentioning.
I get my family in the room and it's dirty. There are stains in the bathtub and what looked like ketchup, blood, or something between the grooves of the headboard. We called the desk to ask about having it cleaned and Tabatha came to the room herself. While in the room, she originally offered a different room at the end of the hall or one upstairs. When she heard us tell our son 'no' to going upstairs, she suddenly changed her mind and all that was available was upstairs. She was just upset and vindictive that we complained. We didn't like the obstacles and asked to just be refunded and Tabatha said a manager has to approve of it and one wouldn't be in til Monday. Keep in mind there is no elevator in the building, so it was hauling luggage and two young kids up stairs after having such a rough time just finding a place to stay. After this being the second hotel with issues, we just wanted to find somewhere else, but we stayed because we felt trapped.
Breakfast was decent...
Read morePositives:|The room was clean.|The pool was a nice lukewarm when we swam around 9pm.|The staff was friendly.|The breakfast was okay.|There is free wifi available.||Those positives were not enough to drive the rating up from 1 start though and we wont be back nor would we recommend anyone stay here until they can address the following issues.||Curtains:|Do not sleep on the 1st floor if you care remotely about your privacy or the privacy of others in the room with you. They do not have actual curtains, they have a decorative 'curtain' on both sides of a sheer covers that allows daylight to pass into the room during daytime but at night people can easily see you when they're outside the windows in the parking lot in their cars and with us having young girls this was disconcerting but the place was packed so we cut the lights and hoped for the best since it was a 1 night stay.||Stating the obvious here but parents.. be aware of the curtain limitations previously mentioned when in the parking lot at night - be warned that should they walk past a window of adults engaged in adult activity, their young ones may see more than a PG view as they head to their room. Not cool.||Also, I don't normally bring my phone/wallet/camera to the pool but with the see through curtains I felt VERY uncomfortable leaving any personal items in sight of the passersby outside that could see in the room while we were gone.||Mattresses:|The mattresses were so uncomfortable that I wish we brought inflatables. My kids and I literally tried laying on the pillows to avoid the coils in the mattresses poking us - I'm glad the kids found some success in that and fell asleep but I didn't manage to get much and gave up trying to sleep when the breakfast started to be served and got everyone up around 630am to head down for food.||TV:|Sorry yes more to complain about. The controller worked some of the time, enough to eventually find a sports channel and then leave it on because there was no sleep timer. Other hotels we've stayed in you can use streaming and then clear it before you checkout or clears out automatic when you check out but the tv was not capable of streaming.||Bathroom: |While its a small issue after that is said, it wouldn't kill them to replace the horribly noisy rattling vent in the bathroom - it was effective and kept the steam out despite four of us taking a shower. I half expected someone to bang on the wall due to the noise of the fan on for the hour and change while the four of us got showers taken.||Towels:|Also, I did find it odd that a room with 4 people sleeping in it would be provided 3 towels - we simply brought one up from the pool so we could all take a shower after swimming but still would be nice to have the amount of towels meet the expected occupancy...
Read moreI was on my way to NC when my check engine light came on. Stopped at the truck stop next door to the quality inn and trying to figure out what I was going to do. It was Sunday and the manager of the truck stop said that nothing was open for me to get help. So I resigned myself to sleeping in the car but it was supposed to get down to 26° that night so I decided to check into the hotel. The check-in clerk was so very helpful and so nice and she cut me a break. She went above and beyond the call of duty and being so kind and so helpful. Got into the room and found the room was spotless. A bit dated, but spotless nonetheless. And the beds were very comfortable so were all the pillows. The air conditioning and heater worked perfect, the water in the tub got hot, and the TV had an excellent picture, overall, the entire experience was very pleasant. When checking out the next morning I got in my car and realized I didn't have my tablet, but I had already checked out so I ran back in and the maid was so nice to help me find it in the room. Her name was Lacey. I told her thank you then got in the car and drove to Flagstaff to find someone who would be able to check my car out. When I got to Flagstaff I stopped to get gas and I realized I didn't have my card holder that has my all my bank cards, my credit cards, my cash, my driver's license, insurance card, and social security card in it. I called the hotel and ask if they had found it. The man who answered the phone said that he would find out and he would call me back in about an hour and a half maybe an hour. So I gave him my number and found a place to park and wait for him to call back. He called me back before I could even get the car parked. He told me yes they had found it and they were holding it for me. I went back to get it and Saw that they were having an employee's Christmas party or something at the hotel and, Lacey my maid, was sitting right there at the end of the table, she saw me and she said "I know you" and "I said, " Yes, you're my maid". She told me that my wallet was in the office and then a gentleman went back into the office and got it. All of the employees here are kind and helpful and just the nicest people that you would want to meet. And for sure Lacey is one of the most honest people I've ever met. The food for breakfast was great! Loved breakfast! Love the beds! Loved the easy on, easy off the freeway! I will definitely stay here again!!! I had been kind of afraid that the rooms were going to be shabby at the price that they charged because it was not expensive at all. But the rooms were great The whole hotel was great. Do yourself a favor when you're in the area and stay...
