We had such an amazing experience in Mercure Punta Carretas I really needed to share! We were supposed to stay in the hotel during our 2024 vacations, but, since we had a problem with getting in the flight to Montevideo we had to postpone the trip for some time. The hotel's manager was very understanding of our issue and we could get hosted in the hotel recently in March this year.
We were a little bit anxious because it was our very first international trip with our 1.5 year old son, but the hotel staff made us feel in home and welcome everytime. Breakfast was amazing and baby Tom definitely enjoyed a lot having variety of fruits and his daily "huevos con bacon" in the morning 😋 The hotel location is amazing, just next to the Rambla and the Punta Carretas mall. Since the hotel does not have a built-in restaurant or such we decided to purchase food from the market to heat up in the hotel. It was just fine proceeding this way through the trip and we still saved a lot of money in the process 💰
Staying 4-5 days in Mercure should be enough to get to know Montevideo for the first time since it is kinda close to several of the touristic points in the city.
We are definitely coming back to Montevideo once our dulce de leche are over and Mercure is our first choice when the time...
