Don Peperone — Restaurant in Montevideo

Fui 2 veces en mi vida. Nunca más! Pésimo servicio y atención en ambas ocasiones. Y muy caro. A mi colega australiano, que ni siquiera entiende español, sin saberlo, tomó un producto de la mesa de postres, pensando que era un sistema de autoservicio. Inmediatamente una moza se lo (literalmente) arrancó de sus manos, mientras le gritaba con un tono absolutamente grosero "si no pagó no puede tomar ese postre!"

La (mala) higiene de su personal es otro tema de preocupación. Los veo salir del local, vestidos con su uniforme de trabajo, sentarse en el piso afuera del local para fumar. Siendo gente que manipula comida, me preocupa ver que con su ropa de trabajo se sientan en el piso o en el pasto, además de manipular un cigarrillo. Y me pregunto si se higienizan en forma adecuada cuando vuelven al local.... Aunque sé la respuesta a esa pregunta.

I went 2 times in my life. Never again! Terrible service and attention both times. And very expensive. My Australian colleague, who doesn't even understand Spanish, unknowingly, took a product from the dessert table, thinking it was a self-service system. Place was really nice, crowded, but he was Mother’s Day weekend. I loved the way they served me the coffee and milk in two little jars so I can make it myself - the proportions I wanted.

I also asked for a carrot cake square. I had tried one from Don Peperone Arocena before. This one I didn’t like as much as I hoped, since it felt a little dry. It wasn’t a big deal, but I preferred the one from Arocena.
