The courtyard is the biggest selling point of the hotel, it was an inspiration for me. I hope one day to build a place which opens into a space like this. ||||The room was a comfortable size, the hotel is nicely presented and it was a good place to stay. The bed was too hard and the sheets were an usual fit. ||||It was winter and we were the only guests. I was disappointed that in that case we were put into a bathroom with a broken shower hose holder. I'm not sure if they all are, I doubt it. I didn't complain about it so maybe I should have, but it's something that would have improved my stay. ||||The staff were nice always standing when we entered the room. ||||The room heating though did not turn off, or allow any temperature adjustment (this is a common idea in hotels here I'm finding) so we had to sleep with the window open - and it had been snowing. Surely, that's too warm?||||Intermittent wifi. ||||The dining room is excellent, it feels like a secret place and the courtyard is beautifully spacious. ||||It's only really little things that let it down, like dark hallways with almost no lighting. It could be even better with a bit more attention to detail, but that being said it was a good place to stay. ||||We were allowed an extremely late checkout because it wasn't busy which was very kind...

The location of this hotel could not be better. Situated across from the citadel and on the edge of the old town, there is constant activity in the event spaces and it is a very short walk to the historical buildings, shops and restaurants.
Uzbekistan send like a very safe place and the location here is no exceptions. We never felt unsafe and when the events were happening there were gates to get into the area, metal detectors and police every few meters.
There is a nice courtyard in the middle of the building and it looks like they work hard to keep the place clean in the common areas and the rooms.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, with daily housekeeping, but two negatives: The safe does not operate the normal way, so good luck getting your stuff in sand out. We had to have the front desk open it with a master key, so we gave up There is a doorway threshold between the bathroom and the bedroom that is quite high and seems like it was designed to stub your toe on.
The staff are super nice, a bit shy and quiet but very nice and their English is pretty good.
The breakfast buffet is just okay, but there is enough there to get you through...
Read moreThis hotel gets good marks for location. Is situated very close to old town within walking distance of all the sights. We had a room overlooking the courtyard. The door was glass and only had a blind covering the top half of it. The air con had a very bright light. It felt like trying to sleep in a supermarket. Our shower was useless. The overhead shower didn’t work at all and the handheld one shot most of the water out of the back of it . We told reception but it didn’t get fixed. |There was a kettle but no cups or tea and coffee. No black tea at breakfast either only green tea or a fruit/ earl grey type one. |The staff were as helpful as they could be. Many of our group became ill after eating at a local restaurant and the girl at reception checked up on them, brought drinks and called an ambulance for one lady.|The young night manager was also friendly and helpful.|This hotel is a bit difficult to find your way around and a few more...
